I was referred to Jeffrey Oster by Jamie Clar, another highly rated electrical contractor on the list. I had originally called him about my whole house flickering problem, and even though he was unavailable to come to my home, he still did help me by telling me to call Commonwealth Edison and have them test their neutral wire on my property. The technician from Commonweath Edison had brought the loose hot wire to my attention while attempting to test their neutral wire. He explained that it wasn't sparking at the time, but if it did, it could cause a house fire. He told me that I was going to have to hire an electrical contractor to tighten the hot wire and replace the meter box because it had rusted shut and was preventing him from fully being able to test the neutral wire. I also knew from my previous conversation with Jamie Clar that the longer it took to get my whole house flickering problem fixed, the greater the potential for damage to my appliances and electronics. I called him again and told him about the technician's findings, and that is when he referred me to Jeffrey Oster. He told me he was good like him, and he absolutely was. I called and left a message for Jeffrey Oster, and he quickly returned my call. He told me that he would be at my home within the hour, and he was. He immediately set about troubleshooting my problem, and he didn't mind my being present as he worked or explaining what he was doing as he went. He was professional and personable, which put me at ease because I was extremely stressed out over the seriousness of my situation. He tightened up the hot wire, and while he was attempting several different solutions to repair the whole house flickering problem, he noticed that my home's neutral wire contained aluminum wiring that had frayed. He told me he wanted to replace that wire with a copper one (which is all he uses), and with my permission, he did it. That wire replacement was what repaired my whole house flickering problem, and I can't put into words the relief I felt when the lights finally stabilized. I was and still am so grateful that he was able to fit me in before he left on a mission trip that following week, and I also was as surprised as I was impressed when he called the next day to follow up and make certain that the lights were no longer flickering. As a result of my excellent experience with him, I will be calling him with all my electrical needs in the future as well as referring him to my family, friends, and neighbors.
