We worked with Mike Fomin, FMP Group Inc., to do some renovations on a newly purchased townhome in Bartlett. From the first meeting, Mike was very friendly, he listened to what we wanted, and even helped me finish a task I was in the middle of when he arrived. He provided his expertise and guidance to our projects and was quick to offer solutions or alternatives to any issue that came up. When we asked for additional things to be done, he was very accommodating. Mike helped us with electrical, plumbing, flooring, cabinetry, shelving, and more. His quality of work was great and I would highly recommend him. He’s friendly, reliable, and his rate for work is fair and honest. Without a doubt, I will be calling Mike again for future projects. Super quick and affordable! We had a curtain rod that was pulling out from the drywall because we had installed in incorrectly. Mike was flexible with timing and fixed the location of the curtain rod & patched up the old hole. We will definitely reach out again for future projects.

Mike did a great job to fix the leak on the ref filter tubing. He is very thorough and made sure everything was working properly and cleaned after. Very professional and easy to deal with. Will hire him again for future projects.

Mike and Leon were very prompt in coming out to assess what I needed to have done to my front porch and back deck. Leon did an amazing job at installing deck skirting on front porch and back deck along with power washing and staining the deck. He worked hard to ensure that I was completely satisfied. I would recommend using FMP for any home improvement or repair work that you may need!

FMP Builders Inc is the way to go! I hired them to assemble and install an outdoor shower. They did a terrific job! I then had them power wash my patio and replace some wood. I'm very pleased with the outcome! They respond quickly as well. You will not be disappointed.

Mike from FMP is very knowledgeable and does high quality work. He also gives great input and solves problems as they appear. We have more projects that we will be having him do and have already had two friends ask for his information for their projects. Our house is pretty old and had problems that were uncovered that Mike solved quickly. His pricing is very fair and he is great to work with.

They took a blank room and created an amazing space. From top to bottom, they took our vision and made it real. From walls to painting, flooring, electrical, painting, plumbing- they did it all and it was the best work we have seen in our house. We are now renovating our bathroom and kitchen and we wouldn’t trust anyone else.

I will NEVER hire Michael for any job. All red flags!! He is so untrustworthy and unprofessional. He quotes for less at first, then asks you for more money during the process. If you need to move forward, you need to pay more. Every work he did for us is unfinished and we end up with paying him much more comparing to the price he quoted in the first place. His work is far from professional. He cut corners. He covers all the rottenness and ugliness with caulk and new board without actually clean them. The work he did is either lipstick on a pig or a failure. He lies. He says he will do the work this way and when you find out he didn’t, he will ask you for extra for the way he promised to do. When you tell him you won’t pay him extra because he promised to do, he will tell you that he can’t do the job that it’s impossible for him to do that. He gave you lots of false and empty promises. Like what’s he gonna do the work, but he didn’t do exactly like he said. Or something he promised you he would do but he didn’t do at all. He is not punctual. Not that I care for your schedule. But when you promise me you will be here 9:00, I expect you to be here 9-ish not 2 hours later or not showing. He has no safety sense. He didn’t wear his goggles when he was doing the wood cutting. His eye caught some wood dust and he ended up going to the hospital with a red eye for days. He has no boundaries. He cut several tree branches off in our backyard for easy access to the gutter without telling us. When we asked him, he said he was doing us a favor since there are dead branches. Even though I do think it’s our property and we should be informed in advance. He has a bad attitude and bad temper. After I caught him not doing the work he promised, he would show his attitude to me and said he doesn’t know what I was taking about. And he threw more than 10 electrical pipes from the roof to the concrete floor one by one to show me his bad temper while I was standing 10 feet away from him. If he says he won’t charge you for anything if you don’t like the work he did, RUN. He made big promises at first and NEVER delivered. Here is my experience. We have a leaking issue. Our leaking issue is because the gutter tilted and water came through underneath the door to the basement. We want to fix the issue and repair the damages. That’s why we wanna hire a contractor in the first place. Mike came and gave us a quote. 4 active cracks injection 1200 Cracks floor patch 500 Materials 200 Fix door/wall leak 450 dehumidifier installation 350 (roughly, maybe less) Fix a siding piece free Fix the gutter free He came and looked around. He found himself more jobs. That’s the reason there are many items from his quote. He offered to help us fix them for a small price. We didn’t think that much at the beginning. That’s how the bad dream started. Day 1, on Oct 28 Mike came to install the humidifier. He wanted to add a water valve to our current water pipe. And he charged us extra $100 for it. So what’s the $350 installation fee for? We should drop him right way. This is his pattern asking for extra money for each work. He wants extra $150 to fix the gutter which he said at first that he does it as a favor. He said he can’t find a long ladder to fix the siding piece. Either he doesn’t do that or we pay $40 to rent a ladder from Home Depot for 4 hours and he fixes it for us. He wants $1500 instead of $450 he originally proposed to fix the door/wall leak. We hire him to fix the issue and replace the rotten wood. Which we thought is $1500 for. He said he will replace the whole foundation board and side board and rotten subfloor, and open the siding up and replace the rotten wood if there is any. And materials included. When we found he only replaced the side board under the door, we asked him what about the both sides. He said you need $400 more to replace that. Which he didn’t do exactly, he only replaced half of left side part and ignored the right side part. At first we asked him what he is gonna do to replace the whole foundation board. Even I can see the difficult of that. He said he’s gonna do it from inside and slide the whole foundation board in. I was skeptical at that moment. Turns out I was right. He didn’t do as he told me. He only replaced 3 slats not whole board. I asked him why. He said he can’t do this from inside. Come on, where were you when you told me you can do that. Funny thing is in the final receipt, he charged $200 extra for the foundation board. So to fix the leaking issue, price went from $450 to $2100. And the work at least he promised hasn’t done yet. He came yesterday to fix the subfloor. He said before he’s gonna remove the rotten part and patch a new board. I thought so. Turns out he only removed part of the rotten wood, you can still see rotten wood there and he was trying to cover it with a new wood. He can’t fool me with that. So I stopped him and asked him why he didn’t remove all the rotten part. He made all kinds of excuses, either he can’t do or he needs to move the door, or I need to pay him extra to move forward. This is the same thing he did on the right corner of the door. Rotten wood is still there, he just put rubber on top of it and told us it’s done. I figured out his work skill. It’s just cover it with another piece even though underneath is ugly. Here is his final quote for us: Materials 200 dehumidifier installation 350 Gutter fixing 150 Valve installation 100 Door leak/ boards replace 1500 Foundation board replace 200 Extra length board replace 400 2900 total The 3 work he did are still unfinished. About the Door/wall leak issue, he didn’t properly and fully replace the boards as requested and agreed. No replacement for the subfloor. He attached the humidifier to the coil and connected the wires which wasn’t tested due to our nonfunctional furnace. I should mention this, our furnace was working the same day he came to install the humidifier. It stopped working after he left. Before he left he told me he had a friend coming by later to check the furnace. I didn’t know what’s really going on at the time. Now I have my suspicion. Only he did the wiring to the furnace. And I mentioned once in front of him and a police office and he didn’t even rebut. And the gutter is still leaking on the corner. We are really NOT happy with his work. , I really don’t like his attitude. He has a bad attitude and temper as well. He wanted to just leave the humidifier control panel in the basement. We have a existing control panel on the first floor for easy access and I want to keep it that way. And he wasn’t happy about it and he stopped working on the installation and went outside to fix the gutter. After I pointed out he didn’t do exactly as he promised, he would pretend he doesn’t understand me. Or he will say he wants to talk to my husband. One time he showed his bad temper towards me. He threw all the extra steel piles storage on the ceiling slat to the concrete floor one by one which made huge impact noise while I was standing 10 feet away from him. I am not sure why did he act like these. We were nice to him. We even invited him to lunch. And we helped him as much as we can and provide as much as we can. Yet he took advantage of our kindness. I am a reasonable person. I understand that things change. I just don’t understand that he was here, he did the assessment and he should have experiences. What’s the reasons for keeping changing? What the chance the price jumps from $800 to $2900? If this is a $3000 project, I would prepare myself for that in the first place. Will you prepare if the price goes up all the time? And who knows if there is an upper limit. With all the work unfinished and we need to find another contractor to redo the work. Who knows if his work’s gonna hurt us in the future.

It went very well. The contractor is very good and easy to work with. I would recommend him highly.
