We found Jamie through Angie's list, and contacted him via email. He quickly responded (on a Saturday) and offered to talk us through the problem over the phone to avoid a service call. After explaining the detail of our mess, we set up an appointment for Monday afternoon. Jamie called to let us know that he was on his way to our house, and promptly arrived thereafter. He quickly demonstrated his electrical expertise and aptitude (explaining relevant code and that which we screwed up), and he clearly is a master electrician (20 years experience in the trade). He quickly troubleshooted the problem, and before long we again had power restored to the other half of our house. He explained in understandable terms that which we already knew - that we did successfully connect the wiring on our own (we just did it WRONG). Jamie was pleasant, humorous, and most important, did not make us feel embarrassed by our mess. Rather he just confirmed that we are not electricians. Thanks Jamie!

Best electrical contractor I have worked with. Jamie Clar was prompt in arriving to do the estimate, and he was clear in scheduling the service date and scope of the work. His crew, Phil and Tom arrived on time and finished early--- in spite of unexpectedly having to spend a lot of time in a cramped attic space, tracing/locating the wiring in my older home. When they were finished, everything worked perfectly. The project took less time than originally estimated, and the price for labor was adjusted downward to reflect this. A pleasure to do business with Clar Electric. Highly recommended.

It was absolutely wonderful. They called back to us within fifteen minutes and came out within the hour. He scheduled the work to be done after we came home from vacation. He arrived on the day of work when he said he would be there. He completed the work in a timely manner with excellent workmanship. He was very professional. In fact we was so good that we have contracted for him to do another job and would be glad to recommend him to anyone.

He arrived at 2 pm and went right to work. He installed the 2 bathroom fixtures first. One of the old fixtures (39 years old) was a fire hazard and for safety, needed to be replaced. Also installed the laundry room fixture and repaired the closet light. The work took about 45 minutes to an hour. He cleaned up everything and had me check to see that it all worked. I am very pleased with his work and will certainly recommend him to my friends.

Although Jamie had other projects scheduled, he came out the same day that I called when I told him of the inconvenience of the circuit being out. He fixed the immediate problem and also quoted on several other projects to be done in the future. I was quite pleased with the entire experience.

While installing replacement appliances, I noticed that one of the circuits in the kitchen was popping in the circuit breaker panel when I toggled in on and off. At very last notice Clar Electric came out and troubleshot the circuit. Jamie was able to quickly diagnose the problem and explain the shortcuts that the original builders used in order to speed up their work (which causes potential problems later). It turns out that two circuits were feeding a single outlet. I was very impressed with his work, I would use his services again, and I would recommend him to others.

Jamie returned my call immediately, came out on a Friday night with only two hours notice, showed me the problem, and did the work that the contractor who built our house never installed properly. He is incredible!!

Mr. Clar arrived promptly. He answered a lot of questions I had about lighting, fixtures, and so on. He had to enlarge the opening in the drywall for the new switches. The cuts in the drywall were clean and neat, and the result was beautiful. He explained the proper handling for the halogen bulb. The whole thing was done quickly and neatly. Mr. Clar is a very competent professional, and also a very friendly and pleasant person.

Jamie's crew of two men showed up almost exactly at 7:00 am on the day of the job. Both were professional and friendly, and got right to work. The job was nothing too complex, of course, but there was an issue as from where to pull the conduit, since there were no other outlets anywhere on the stairwell walls. Well, they were able to pull some from the basement and go right up through the drop ceiling and floor behind the drywall. Thus, we had zero drywall to repair or paint. When they were finished, the outlet looked like it had always been there, and there was nothing for us to clean or patch up. Similarly, the fan installation and sconce un-wiring were done perfectly. The crew cleaned up after themselves and charged us exactly what we had agreed. I will certainly use these guys for all my future electrical needs.

Arrived on time, and with a phone call in advance to let me know he was on the way. Arrived with a second man. Once they had access to the attic it was a matter of a couple of hours and they were done. They cleaned up, and were very courteous. I am having him come back for 3 other jobs after the holidays. GREAT WORK!

Jaime did the inspection during the demo, he was a sport about it. When we were ready for his crew, they arrived on time, and finished early. They had to come out a few extra times, as I expanded and changed the project as we got into construction. Each time they were to come out, they were scheduled in advance, showed up timely, cleaned up after themselves and got the work done exactly like you'd want. I'd use them anytime. Good communication throughout, and no surprises.

The dimmer installation was done perfectly. The contractor said there was no electricity leading to the front porch light, and he couldn't determine how to solve the problem without removing the siding on the house.

Jamie Clar came out within one day to estimate the work requirements and set up an appointment to do the work. We agreed on a date and he and his assistant arrived on time and completed the work correctly and neatly. Jamie is very congenial and forthright. I will gladly use this company for future electrical needs.

Jaime returned my initial phone call promptly, and came out that afternoon to evaluate the job. I received his bid (via email) the next morning. All his work was completed in about six hours and to my exact specifications. The team was neat and cleaned up well after themselves. Jaime returned a couple of weeks later once the wall was patched and painted to install the two wall sconces. Jaime does good work. I would hire him again.

I was extremely pleased with the excellent work done by Clar Electric. They arrived on time, worked in a timely manner, were respectful of my home, they were polite and overall very nice to work with. They were reasonably priced and did quality work. I will most definitely use them again, as well as recommend them to friends and family.

JAMIE ARRIVED RIGHT ON TIME AND STARTED WORKING RIGHT AWAY. HE MADE SURE THE COURSE OF ACTION WAS THE RIGHT ONE AND THOUGHT THINGS THROUGH BEFORE HE PROCEEDED. HE WORKED VERY QUICKLY AND CLEANED UP AFTER THE PROJECT WAS OVER. HE ALSO LOOKED AT ANOTHER JOB I AM THINKING OF DOING AND PROVIDED LOTS OF GOOD INFORMATION FOR FUTURE USE. I APPRECIATED THE FACT THAT HE DOES NOT CHARGE FOR TRAVEL TIME SINCE HE IS BASED IN SCHAMBERG AND I AM IN CHICAGO. I AM NOT PARTICULARLY HANDY AND FELT VERY COMFORTABLE WITH HIM WORKING ON MY HOUSE. I WOULD ABSOLUTELY USE HIM AGAIN.
