Analyzed lighting problem in hallway and determined it was the fixtures. I went and got the new fixtures and returned to find that he had already finished the rest of the work and had waited about 15 minutes. He did not charge me for the waiting time tho I would have understood if he had This was a very small job for him but he was happy to do it for me. I thought the electrical problem in the hallway was bigger than it was. He explained everything to me and assured me the electrical is new and still good. He was very knowledgeable about current lighting trends, very fast. I am an Interior Designer and am always looking for good contractors. I KNOW I will call on Clar again. I can't wait to use his services for my future projects.

It went well and the service attitude was very pleasant and professional. I requested anadditional quote on a different service.

We had an old outdoor electrical outlet that had quit working, so I emailed Jamie. Not an emergency but I needed it fixed as I couldn't use the electric string trimmer & grass was going berserk. Plus need it for electric snowblower in winter. Heard back very quickly, & in a series of emails arranged for him to come out a few days later. He could have come sooner but I had to be at work in the interim. He came out on Saturday even though thunderstorms were forecast, it was an outdoor job, & I had offered to reschedule. He got it done quickly & well. Price was good. I would definitely call him again for future electrical work.

Everything went great. I was scheduled to start a new job the following Monday and of course procrastinated on getting this done. I called Jamie on Wednesday and he worked very flexibly with my schedule - he offered a late afternoon Thursday appointment and when I had a conflict he switched it to Friday. He also advised me on which timer switches to buy, as some types are not compatible with CFL bulbs and he also has had reliability issues with one or two brands. Jamie called when he was on his way and showed up right when he said he would. He is very professional and friendly, and we talked the whole time he was doing the work. He also answered any questions I had about the switches, use of CFL bulbs in the outdoor fixtures, and general electrical issues. He was here for at least an hour (cutting into his Friday night plans) and only charged $90. I have no idea what the general going rate is, but I honestly can't imagine anyone charging less. It's been almost two weeks and everything is working great. Great work, reasonable price, professional & friendly guy. I highly recommend!

It went very well. Even before Jamie sent someone out for a service call he walked me through some things that could prevent having to pay for the visit. It turned out we needed Clar's services so Jamie sent someone out immediately. Jamie was very responsive and extremely helpful. I was very pleased and would definitely recommend Clar Electric to anyone. If I need anything in the future my first call will be to Jamie at Clar.

Jamie responded quickly to my request to quote on the job. Very down to earth but yet professional, gave me several pointers on how to keep my cost down. Even sent me a link to Amazon.com on the switch box to buy since he would mark it up if he supplied it. His crew was a little late due to wrong directions from map quest but it was still acceptable. They installed the box and outside connection within their estimated time. I would like to add a side story...I purchased a Generac generator and wanted to test run it connected to the switch box. Well, it would not start! They patiently waited while I struggled to get it to start and even helped with trying to find and fix the problem, which we never were able to resolve. I had to return the generator, but that's another story. I felt they went out of their way to make sure I completely satisfied with their work. I plan on contacting Jamie on another electrical project I need for the house. He has a new loyal customer.

You know all those big storms we've had this summer? Yeah, pretty hard to forget, right? In one of the first storms, we had very high winds that ripped our old power line connector bracket right off the house. Our power stayed on, but the old bracket was dangling from the power line between our house and the pole and the line was pretty slack. We also had some other damage to our roof and siding, so I made an insurance claim. It took almost a month for an adjuster to come out, so I waited that long before I started calling electricians. I tried two others, but both were too busy to fit me in, so I kept trying other companies with good Angie's LIst ratings. Jamie from Clar called me right back that day and schedule a visit for later in the week. They came out at the scheduled time and attached a new bracket for me. Quick and painless! I will definitely use them again!

Overall I was very comfortable with Clar working on my house. and feel the pricing was fair.

I was very pleased with the work provided by Clar Electric. Jaime (the owner) promptly returned my call and when I explained what a needed to get done, he said could handle the job. On the scheduled date, I met with Phil (who did not shave ) and Tom who had arrived at my rental condo before the scheduled time and were waiting for me. They proceeded to review the work to be done and then covered the appropriate areas so I wouldn't be left with a mess of dust and dirt. They did an excellent job with the small as well as larger projects. Jaime also stopped by during this work to drop some parts. He stayed at the job until the work was done and helped remove the debris. I was also able to chat with Jaime while the work was being done and we both exchanged stories of our families. All in all, it was a very positive experience and I would not hesitate to use their services again.

I couldn't have asked for a more responsive and professional person to work with. Jamie came to give me an estimate on the work to be done on a Saturday--and I received the estimate that night via e-mail. He took care of things with the Village and went above and beyond in running interference with the Village on a related matter. The job was completed in a timely manner, they cleaned up the workspace and were there when they said they'd be. Thanks very much for coming to my rescue!

Jamie did 2 jobs for us in two consecutive weeks--for both appointments he responded immediately to phone & email , arrived on time (first visit another electrician came too, they worked together efficiently), assessed what needed to be done, and completed the work quickly (installed fixture, fixed outlet, installed smoke/CO alarm). After first appt, we communicated back and forth about whole-house surge protectors, so he could advise us what to buy--indeed, he wanted to insure that we'd have proper documentation for warranty so he suggested that it would be better if we purchased the unit so we'd have receipt and all the docs in our name; he referred us to his electrical supply vendor, and we bought unit for him to install. This was also evidence that Jamie is interested in helping customers rather than in selling them products. Throughout, and especially for the surge protector, Jamie was absolutely terrific about answering questions etc.. He checks and responds to email on a daily basis, if not more than once a day , which is so unusual and so very helpful to customer. With other service people you can wait for days for a reply; with Jamie an immediate response is the norm rather than the exception. We have already recommended Jamie to a couple of other people. And when we next need an electrician, he is definitely the person we will contact. His stellar record on Angie's List is well deserved.

The technicians show up on time. They were very professioinal and polite to work with. Discovered our ceiling fans were not installed properly and were not installed to junction box which is code. They installed the juncction box which was not part of the quote. Jamie show up later and assisted his men with the job, he brought the permit and waited for the inspector to show up. Inspector was satisfied with the work so the inspection passed. Jamie is the owner and I was very happy that we selected his company to the do work. Most importantly he was more thorough with his estimate compared to the other electrical companys. Job well done.

Jamie could not have been kinder or more helpful. The first time that he came out, he realized that the fuse was blown and all he had to do was put in a new one. He came exactly when he said he would, he was incredibly friendly (even to our two cats) and he gave us the Angie's list discount without even needing the coupon. Unfortunately, the pump stopped working a second time and he came out on a Sunday and did not even charge us for coming out. He fit us into his busy Sunday schedule and made it clear that he wanted to make sure that we were taken care of. He was able to determine what the problem was very quickly and explained exactly what we would need to do to fix it. He was very honest with us and told us that he did not have the equipment needed to fix the underground wiring, but gave us suggestions on who we might call to get this fixed. Even after I asked him if we could pay him for coming out on a Sunday, he refused. We were extremely impressed with the work that he did and the friendliness he displayed. We cannot say enough good things and will not hesitate to call him again for any work that we need done.

Since finding Clar Electric on Angie's List, we have used them about four times in the last year - since moving into our home. They are awesome! For this job, our appliance repalirman told us that our circuit was blown and that it needed to be replaced. Jamie instructed me where to look on the panel for the correct circuit number so that he could order in advance and save me the cost and time of an additional visit. He sent me the quote on the part and ordered it. He then contacted me as soon as the part arrived. When he scheduled a visit, he gave me a small window so that I wasn't staying at home for the entire afternoon. Jamie quickly diagnosed the problem -- there was none! The repairman had made a mistake. Jamie only charged me for the one visit and did not charge me for the unused and specially ordered part -- about $95. Last month, Jamie responded to an electric ermergency at our home and came within the hour. He is fabulous to do business with. I could have called our warranty company for the repair, but I had no problem calling Jamie instead. A true time and money saver! So honest, pleasant and super professional. We can always count on him to tell us the honest assessment of our problem and give us a fair price. A++++

Jamie was very prompt and professional. We agreed on a time and day when he was supposed to come and give me a quote. He came right on time and gave me a clear explanation of what needed to be done, which included some items that I didn't know about, but were needed by the electrical code. A day later I got an e-mail with a written quote, which also included the necessary permit. He promised me that all the permitting process will be his responsibility and sure enough he kept his word. His suppliers did not provide a residential transfer switch, so Jamie suggested me I should order the switch myself on the internet. He guided me through the ordering process, explaining the pros and cons of the various solutions and promptly answering all my questions. I agreed to go ahead and have the work done by him and we scheduled the job. His crew came right on time and got to work right away. They were pleasant and courteous, and had all the parts and tools to finish the job in one day. Jamie had scheduled ahead of time the inspection with the city, such that by the time they were almost done the inspector showed up and everything checked up just fine. At the end they cleaned up nicely the work area. To sum it up the whole job was done very professionally, with the required permit, and without any hidden costs. I highly recommend him.

I called Jamie on one day's notice over Memorial Day weekend requesting installation of a chandelier for my nursery. He came over the next day to do the job. He knew to give us a 10% discount for finding him via Angie's List. He was very knowledgeable and efficient, and the price was right.

The team arrived on-time, surveyed the work, and had everything completed within 4 hours. The guys were professional and friendly, and did a great job! I went down to my basement to see if there was any cleanup needed from drilling holes for the new conduit, and it was as neat as before they arrived! Great experience - I'd recommend Jamie and his guys in the future.

My experience with Clar Electric In. Company was very good in general. They were here when they were supposed to be. They did the job efficiently. I would use them again in the future.

They performed the work that we expected, at the price they quoted us. Installing the recessed lights required some holes being made in the ceiling and walls and we were pleasantly surprised to find fewer holes were made than we expected! Overall, a great experience.

After I call, he got back to me within in minutes, and apologized for not being able to pick up right away. He was awesome. He was able to come over right away and fit me in between calls to fix my fuse box. He fixed it pretty quick. He was very nice, forthcoming, knowledgeable, and just a good down to earth guy. He made me feel very confident in what he was doing.

This past fall I took a number of quotes from various electricians around grounding our home, doing some repairs on our breakers and updating all of our outlets and light switches. Jamie was the only one who did not try and upsell me or tell me that I needed a whole new box or anything crazy. He had the most reasonable price for the work that we actually needed to have done. He and one of his guys came and did the work quickly, quietly and perfectly. It was a great experience. So...this past Sunday when my husband and I tried to install new light fixtures on our own only to smell something burning, pull them down and find nothing, panic a bit because the smell was stronger but we could not find a source - I immediately called Jamie for help. He responed within a half hour, on a Sunday!!!!! We took pictures and emailed them to him he called back and took the time to walk us through every scenario (and to calm me down). We were able to reinstall them ourselves without issue. I am just floored by Jamie's customer service. As a new home owner, who is trying to figure things out and save as much money as possible I would absolutely recommend Jaime to everyone I know who needs electric work done.
