this is the second visit this company has made to my home. they are professional. their work is neat and i completely trust them. they answer all my questions calm and clearly. i would and have recommended them to other homeowners.

Another great job! I called around 7pm to schedule an appointment for later in the week but fortunately he was able to fit me in on the same night! He was able to get me back up and running in no time despite having a weird non-standard setup.

The experience was great from start to finish. When Jamie came out to do the initial estimate, he very quickly sized up the project and advised me on exactly what materials to order and where to go to find what I needed. Of course, once I got to the store I changed my mind on what I wanted (going from standard track lighting to a low voltage monorail system). I contacted Jamie and he didn't bat an eye. He knew exactly what I needed and where to get it. He was even able to do the new configuration for the same price. My lights were installed over two sessions. His team was prompt, efficient, and professional. They consulted me on the exact placement, making sure I was comfortable with what they were doing along the way. On the second day of the install when we discovered that the lighting store had sold me the wrong dimmer switch they willingly waited while I ran out and got the replacement. My hallway and kitchen has never looked better. Now I can't wait to do the lighting throughout the rest of my condo!

Jamie provided a very competitive quote, started the job on time and finished it in a very professional manner. In addition, he discovered a serious mistake a ComEd crew had made when they laid new cable a couple of weeks earlier, which not only affected my house but also a neighbors and could have led to serious injuries or damage. It required a ComEd crew to come out that same night to make the necessary repairs before the power could be turned on again. Jamie stayed until very late that day , following up with ComEd and making sure they did it right this time. I was very impressed with him and will definitely work with Jamie again in the future, should the need arise.

They did a good job of cleaning up their mess. I didn’t price check anything so I’m not sure how they compare.

Clar electric came out the same day i called! they were also less expensive than the price quoted from home depot for installation. the service was quick, friendly, and a great value --what more could you want?

The guys were pleasant and professional. They worked steadily and did not take any breaks during the approximately 2.5 hours they were in my home. Nothing was scratched or damaged while they worked. I was very impressed by this, as they had to carry in quite a few heavy steel components which comprised the scaffolding they needed. Clar Electric gets two thumbs up from me and I would definitely use them again.

Jamie returned my message right away and fit in a visit to our house just a few days later, which happened to be the Friday of a holiday weekend. He is very knowledgeable, professional and easy to work with. He targeted the issues immediately and resolved them on the first visit. I will absolutely call Jamie again for any additional electrical work.

They did a great job and the chandelier looked good. The prices were a little high.

I called Jamie on a Sunday night about a problem with my outdoor outlets. He called me back promptly on Monday morning. I told Jamie about the problem. He said before charging me to come over that I should try resetting all of the bathroom outlets (the ones w/ the little reset buttons). Seemed odd to me, but I did it and it worked! The outdoor outlets work now. Amazing! Problem promptly fixed at no charge. How can you beat that??

We scheduled this for this past Friday, 10/7/11. Clar had a small job in the morning nearby so asked if they could do my job mid to late morning; they arrived on time and finished all work by around 1PM. Jamie Clar (the owner) and his two man crew were involved throughout the project -- all work done very professionally and very pleased with placement of charger and coach lights (tech involved double-checked with me prior to drilling, etc. on placement, timer set up, etc.). It turns out that Clar had done a few more EV charger installs before mine so was familiar with what needed to be done. Nice people to deal with, would recommend to anyone considering this type of work.

Jamie was punctual when he came out for the estimate. He walked me through all the work that would need to be done as well as any possible problems that my job may entail due to the structure of our home. The estimate was provided in a timely manner. The men that came to do the work were polite and friendly. They covered furniture to keep it from getting drywall dust on it. In one room there was no access to the attic, the installer worked to find a solution without having to cut into ceilings or walls that would need to be repaired. The work was completed as was promised. The installers cleaned up after they were finished. I would definitely hire Clar Electric again.

It went extremely well. He is by far the best electrician we have had over the years, and I am giving his name to all the neighbors.

I got Clar Electric's name from Angie's List. I called him because his references were excellent. I was not disappointed. I left a brief message and he got back to me promptly. He came the same afternoon at the designated time, did his work, left no mess, and left. He was personable and I am so glad that I finally feel like I have an electrician I can depend on.

Jamie Clar is very responsive, blunt and personable. He will tell you exactly what your problem is, discuss ways to fix the issue and will try to save you money. I first met him because my home warranty company hired him to fix an exhaust fan that wasn't working properly. He was very patient working through the whole process with me and the warranty company, even though the warranty company took 3 months to approve the work needed. I also hired Jamie to fix the circuits in my basement - all the electrical had been placed on one circuit and I couldn't vacuum down there without the fuse blowing. Jamie does not charge for estimates, so he came out, told me exactly what he proposed doing, and provided an estimate. His was not only the lowest estimate, but he got out there right away, and was ready to do the work within a week. His team is also very nice and have worked on both projects.

I had had siding and window replacement work done by a contractor who did not install either the siding or the windows correctly. I fired him at which time my neighbor told me to hire only from Angie's List. So I joined and contacted several Angie's List electrical contractors. They all returned my calls, but Jamie was the only one who made sure to see me as soon as possible. Jamie arrived, assessed the situation, and gave me a bid. I tried to get the other electrical contractors to come to my house, but their availability and mine did not coincide. I went with Jamie and I am so very grateful that the other contractors did not have time for me. Jamie is the consummate professional. He cares about his customer's situation, he is diligent about communication, he is extremely knowledgeable and he is in excellent standing with the village electrical inspector. His crew was always on time, professional, clean, and friendly. It took three visits to my house in coordination with the new siding and windows contractor to get everything done. Each time every job that could get done was done efficiently and accurately. Unfortunately the money it cost to get the windows and siding replaced and installed a second time took the money I had set aside to do my kitchen. But when I have the money for the kitchen, Jamie will be my electrician. In fact, Jamie will be my forever electrician. Thank you so very much, Jamie. Thank you for the safety you gave to my house and the peace of mind you gave to me. If Angie's List offered A+ as an option, I would have given that to you and your crew.

Jamie replied right away to my email, discussed the issue with me over the phone, and offered to come on-site and investigate the issue. When it was discovered that I could handle it myself I took it from there.

Jamie and his crew (phil and tom) were professional and very friendly. They came in the morning, set up their scaffold and replaced the old chandelier with the new one we bought ourselves. The work took about a little over an hr with most of it really the scaffold set-up. They cleaned up afterward and were very mindful of our walls and furniture. Will use them again in the future.

It went very smoothly and was followed by an excellent clean up.
