I appreciated that Mr. Clar takes the time to carefully check the wiring to ensure that we don't have any unindented results from the changes he makes. He is friendly and efficient and quickly identified the issue and the best way to fix it.

Although I didn't work with Jamie, he responded promptly to my request. He asked me several questions, and patiently gave me suggestions, which were very useful to me. Jamie also proposed a very reasonable price for his service. Later my friend helped me for the project, and he has reviewed Jamie's response. He would think Jamie got very professional suggestions, and Jamie must be a very good electrician. In the future, I would definitely consider choosing Jamie. Strongly recommended!

We thought that we need to increase our circuit for a new dryer. Jamie informed us that a gas dryer did not need the increased power.

He was able to repair both of my problems. He is very prompt, called me back right away, let know when he was coming, very personable, and did a good job. I would recommend him.

He was wonderful and I say that without hesitation. No attitude, friendly, willing to share information--everything you would wish for in an electrical contractor but could never get because most of them are jerks and try to rip you off. Jamie walked me through everything, solved the problem (it was a manufacturer's defect in the electrical box) and we are back up and running, safe and sound. He will also take the time to explain other aspects of electrical piping in your house which no one else will and that will help you better understand what your needs are and if you need to add additional circuitry. Jamie Clar and his company is THE REAL DEAL and you are lucky if you can get him; professional, knowledgeable, courteous, friendly and a pleasure to do business with in general.

Jamie arrived on time and began work immediately. He had all of the equipment needed to complete the job with him. He kept me informed of everything he was doing, especially when he needed to disconnect the power. He provided me with enough time to power off any sensitive electrical equipment; the power was off for a little less than what he said it would be. Great experience from start to finish.

The two guys that came out to perform the work were courteous and efficient. They were mindful to wire the fan without creating any holes in the ceiling by using the can lights, therefore eliminating any potential damage to the ceiling. They completed the entire installation within 2.5 hours and even cleaned up before leaving. I'd recommend them to anyone who needs electric work done. They were friendly and very knowledgeable and even able to fix a couple small items I had been holding off fixing for months. Thanks for all your help!

We recently moved into a ten year old home and needed some electrical items changed....chandelier hung in high stairwell, two new recepticals (one in wall and one in floor), four ceiling can lights changed, two dimmer switches. Researched electricians on Angie's List and called Clar. The owner (Jamie) came out right away to look at the work to be done and provided a detailed, competitive email estimate within two days. Work was scheduled, electricians came out and worked very diligently and cleanly. All work was done in a professional manner....you could tell that these guys knew their stuff and had done it all before. I will definitely use them again and would recommend them to others.

Very responsive on the phone for getting a quote, was out quickly to confirm he could do the job and give us a price. He was there on the day he committed to and finished on schedule. I would recommend him and use him again.

Mr. Clar visited our home, estimated the cost for installing the under cabinet lighting and replacing the light fixture, and checked the lighting fixtures for compatibility with the existing electrical system. He then faxed a very complete description of the work to be performed and the costs. His two installers arrived on time and installed the lighting fixtures in the estimated time, including re-routing some wiring. They were very professional and cleaned the work area when done. The lighting works very well and we are pleased with the work and the price.

Jamie came out and went over the projects we had in mind. He gave his professional opinion and let me know when one lighting project was not feasible, and why. His estimate was competitive, in fact, it was the lowest. The crew showed up right on time. They were professional and got the work done efficiently and quickly. The only reason I gave responsiveness a B, was because his schedule for jobs was three weeks out, but he warned me about that up front. That is to be expected from good contractors who price their jobs competitively. The whole experience was good and I will call Jamie again when I have other electrical needs.

I was impressed with the entire experience with Clar Electric from start to finish. I originally had three companies bid on the project, with Clar Electric as the only electrician off of Angie's List. Jamie Clar came out to our new house the next day and walked through the job. He provided a timely quote and explained that his crew wouldn't be available for 3 weeks to perform the work. I'm glad he was up front on his availability, but I had wanted it done a little sooner, so I initially gave the job to someone else. This was a mistake, the person had told me they could complete it the following week. As I pressed for a date, I got a bad feeling that I was not going to get the service that I expected. I called Jamie back and scheduled his crew for the end of September. On the day of the install, his team (Phil and Tom) were on site at 8am, exactly at the time Jamie promised. They were very pleasant, asked a lot of questions and consulted with me on the placement of the recessed lights in each room. They had no problem with me watching them work (I explained to them that I wanted to learn a little about intalling recessed lights so that if I wanted to install one or two myself in the futureI would have some knowledge). When there were issues with joists in the ceiling where we wanted the lights, they were very clear on the obstacle and proposed very good solutions. The quality of their workmanship was excellent. The job was completed in the morning of the second day as promised. Jamie came by each day to check on the team's progress. I was extremely impressed with the teams "fishing" skills with geting wires though the ceiling without have to do a lot of damage. Incredibly they were able to install the lights in the kitchen without making any additional holes to be patched. After finishing, they left the job site cleaner than when they started. Overall, I had a great experience working with this company.

I had just purchased a new home and asked Jamie Clar for an estimate on replacing aluminum wiring and other misc. electrical work. He was very honest with me, gave me a fair quote and I felt comfortable hiring him. Best choice ever!! The men were on time, Jamie oversaw the work basically the entire time, and most importantly, pointed out a potentially dangerous situation in my children's rooms. If it were not for Jamie and his men, my ceiling could have fallen down on my children. The work needed to fix my ceiling is nothing that Jamie does and had nothing to benefit from pointing it out to me. Jamie and his men were clean, got the work done in a timely manner and I made a very smart (and life saving) choice by hiring them.

Jaime, the owner Clar electric came out solved our no power problem within 30 minute of arrival which we have been struggling for 3 weeks. The cause was incorrect wiring done by previous electrician/contractor who worked on the houses. I was impressed with his expertise and work. We are thinking troubleshooting would take more than 4 hours but ended being less than half hour which saved us a lot of money also.

Jamie and his team are fantastic! We were finally renovating our basement which had flooded the prior July and I decided to contact an electrician separately from our general contractor as I wanted to have someone that I could still call in the future. Jamie responded promptly to my call and provided a reasonable proposal to install recessed lights in the family room and an outlet for an ejector pump in the laundry . He was able to accommodate the scheduling constraints in between the plumbers and other workmen in order to be able to complete the work in one day. The 2 electricians that completed the job were on time, curteous, left the area very tidy and most importantly - did a great job! My expectation with installing the recessed lights was that there woud be quite a few holes to patch while trying to find the studs to attach the lights. There was only one tiny hole next to one light! Even the city inspector and the other workmen from the general contractor were impressed. When there was an issue with reattaching a stairway light fixture by the general contractor during the same renovation, I called Jamie to have a look. He happened to be in the area and came by that same day and sorted out the problem in 10 minutes! What service! I now refer "my electrician" to other family and friends whenever possible.

Jamie Clar, the owner, was an absolute pleasure to work with, along with his top notch guys who did the work: Phil, Jose, and Tom. All great guys who were very professional, courteous, and very skilled at their craft. We moved into this new house in the end of April and a few days after moving in, we began experiencing 50% power loss in the house. Turns out we had a burnt out meter socket and needed to replace the old service w/ a new 100 amp service. l decided to pay a little extra and upgrade to 200 amp service, in case we decided to do major upgrades to the house in the future. With summer right around the corner, I didn't want to be w/out central air, so I immediately began researching electricians. I found Clar Electric and then had two other contractors come out as well. When I sent Clar an email through Angie's List, I got a quick response that same night from Jamie, who is very well connected via his smart phone. I told Jamie of the problem we were having and asked him if he could come out ASAP to give a quote. He assured me he could squeeze me in a couple days later. He showed up on time and I found him to have a great bed side manner. He made feel much better about the situation, once he explained what he could do. Plus I was worried about passing inspection, as we have one of the tougher inspectors in the county. Fortunately Jamie fills in for inspectors from time to time, so that made me feel even more at ease. Clar and one other were the lowest in price, but Jamie impressed me w/ his knowledge, experience, and confidence, coupled with the fact that he received very high marks on Angie's List. Unfortunately he was booked out for almost a month out, but I agreed to wait and I'm glad I did. As I said earlier, Jamie and his guys were great. They knocked the job out in a couple of days, keeping me posted on any issues as they worked. Plus they were incredibly neat and cleaned up very well after themselves. They unfortunately had to cut through the ceiling to run conduit in our finished basement, but they tried to minimize the size of the cuts through the drywalled ceiling, to minimize how much drywall repair we'd have to do. In the end, we had our new 200 amp service installed, it passed inspection w/ flying colors, and we haven't had any issues w/ power since the work was done 3 months ago. Without a doubt, I would recommend using Jamie.....very reliable, trustworthy, and incredibly knowledgable. And his pricing is certainly in line w/ the going rate today, for reputable electricians.

Jamie initially stopped by to give us a quote on recessed lighting and under cabinet lighting. He was running late because of an emergency he had to take care of, but I appreciated the fact that he called and still showed up to give us our quote even though it was getting late. We just went with the recessed lighting because of the cost, but Jamie took the time to explain the different options we had for the cabinet lighting, and answered any other questions we had on what we would and wouldn't need. On the installation day, Jamie's two man crew installed 8 recessed light cans in our kitchen. They came at 8am sharp, and started working right away. They covered the kitchen counters with drop cloths, and then proceeded to remove the original (and very heavy) kitchen light fixture without causing any damage. After measuring and discussing a general layout for the lights, they poked around the ceiling to see where they could install the lights. Since the layout changed slightly based on where they could drill the holes, they checked with me each time to make sure I was happy with the layout. They were able to finish everything in about 4 hours and cleaned up the area well. Jamie also stopped by to check on things and to pick up the final payment. We're happy with how our new lights look!

The crew arrived at 8:00 AM on the day Jamie and I had discussed for the installation. The work was performed promptly on the roof of our house and in the attic crawl space. My wife and I were very pleased with the way the job was done and the area was left clean. I would definately call on Clar Electric again in the future.

Jamie was fantastic! He fixed everything on the list quickly and at a very resonable price. He was a pleasure to work with. My cat even liked him! (Probably because he stopped to give her a couple scratches under her chin.)
