I sent a request for a quote and Jamie got back to me right away. He let me know immediately that he was back-logged and would not be able to make out to our home for a few weeks. He showed up in within the 2-hour window he provided us for the initial walk-through. We went around our home addressing each of our concerns and providing honest feedback on what "could" be done versus what "should" be done. He got back to us with a quote within 48 hours. After signing the paperwork we set up a date to do the work. On the day of the work, he again showed up in the 2-hour window quoted to us and got right to work. Due to some shortcuts previous people took doing the work, Jamie had to improvise to accommodate, but everything went off without a hitch. Jamie is very friendly and great at what he does. We'll definitely have him back if we encounter any more electrical issues in our home.

This is the third time we've used Clar Electric to install recessed lights in our home. Last year we had the bedroom and living room done and the year before that they did our dining room and basement. Each time Jamie came out promptly to give us an estimate and we scheduled the work. The same two guys came to install the lights each of the three times, which was nice. They were friendly and professional and did a great job with minimal mess and Jamie always came by near the end of the work day to make sure everything was good. They also looked at an outlet in our laundry room that was making a crackling noise and repaired it for no charge. Clar Electric is everything you look for in a contractor - professionals you can count on with great communication and fair prices.

Jaime quickly located and addressed the problems I had with 4 outlets. He also helped me run a coaxial cable from the attic to one of the bedrooms. He was on time, professional, respectful of my property, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him.

We contracted with the company using an Angie's List deal of $99 for two hours of labor for electrical work. I had already purchased the fixtures that were to be installed. Jaime (the electrician) arrived promptly. He was very pleasant to work with and was very professional. He worked quickly and seemed very knowledgeable about his craft. He installed all the fixtures in a timely manner, only going past the allotted 2 hrs by 30 minutes. The cost of the extra 30 minutes was a very reasonable $45. We would definitely use his services again; a real A+

Jaime, Phil, and Tom did outstanding work. They were extremely professional, communicative, and punctual. I had a task list that covered all the details and exactly what I wanted done, and they went over each line item and checked them off as they were completed. They have great attention to detail. They will ask you questions if something isn't clear, so that they get things done exactly as you want them. Not only that, but even with installing recessed lights and sawing into ceilings, as well as rewiring several fixtures, they did very minimal damage to walls and were careful to let us know exactly how much patch-up work would be necessary before they started any task. We wish we had called Clar Electric when we first renovated our home several years ago, and will definitely be using them for all our electric needs from now on.

Jamie was prompt, polite, and helpful. He couldn't fix the issue with my pendant lamp but instructed me on how to go about getting it fixed and how to reinstall it. I was able to do so successfully. Highly recommend!

Everything went very well. Jamie is definitely a professional. He installed our dimmer and let us know which light bulbs to purchase for that fixture. He fixed two outlets. Most important, he resolved a problem we have had for many years. He identified the problem and told us that it was a ComEd problem. Jamie called ComEd to explain what ComEd had to do in order for the problem to be resolved. ComEd came out the next day and thru their testing, ComEd confirmed that Jamie was correct. We are very happy with the service Jamie provided.

We had an issue with our breaker box that was causing some problems with getting electricity to a couple bedrooms. We purchased a $99 electrical service inspection deal from Angie's List to have the electrician inspect the issue and give us a quote on what was wrong. Jamie Clar came on-site, diagnosed and repaired the faulty breaker within the first 15 minutes. Since we had an hour of labor included with the inspection, he went around the house and replaced two other faulty outlets, one indoors and one outdoors. He also re-wired a 3-way light switch for us that was done wrong many years ago. We had most of the electrical issues resolved in an hour. Jamie was very professional, friendly and showed us exactly what he was doing while he did the work. He was very efficient. Jamie came to our house in the late evening to take care of the work so we wouldn't have to go without electricity for another night. We will definitely consider using his company again for future electrical jobs. The inspection service is great for diagnosing and fixing existing problems. If you're getting new service installed, I think I would just ask the electrician for a quote instead of paying for the inspection deal.

Jamie solved the issue, wired the disposal properly. He also addressed a few other existing problems we have been having. He was punctual, friendly, professional, and had some great stories about the Chicago Flood. I would highly recommend and will use Clar Electric again.

Super job! Our previous electrician retired, so I looked on Angie's List to find a new one. I am so happy that we found Clar Electric. The owner came to our house to do the work...great guy.

Phil, Tommy and Jamie are great. They did overhead cans in our TV room earlier this year, and then they came back a few weeks ago to put lights in another room and the entryway. They did a great job and cleaned up, so afterward, you really never knew they had been there. I have them coming back again to pull electric for the front of the house and put up exterior lights.

Service was done correctly and on time with no issues.

It was okay. I didn't feel like this was the best bang for my buck. Wish I had something else for him to fix at the time but I would use him again in the future.

Clar was only able to install one of the ceiling fans, please refund the other. The one installation went fine. Thank you, Margot

Very professional. He went into an unfinished attic, disabled switches, completed the job, and verified the results. In short, he solved the problem. I plan on having him back for additional work and would recommend him without reservation.
