It probably only took him 5 minutes. This is an easy fix for an Electrician. I paid for the Labor via Angie's list and then just paid $10 for the Cost of the 2 Breakers installed in the Panel.

Electrician came over, took a look at our fixtures, and told us we needed to get new transformers. Then he left. Didn't tell us what to buy or suggest a retailer or offer to get them and come back to install. Not at all helpful.

Although running a little behind, he did a great job. I attempted to instal under cabinet lighting myself, and ended up having two wires incorrect. He was very welcoming, friendly, and comforting, and really encouraged my attempt (instead of scolding me, like I expected somebody to do). Will most definitely be using them for all future electric needs!

Jamie was very nice and professional. He was able to fit me in same day coming at 7pm on a weeknight. He wasn't able to fix the fan since I need to order a part but he told me how to fix it myself once the part arrives so I don't have to pay for another service call.

He was excellent. Called me back immediately and agreed to come out that same day. He came out at 9:00 pm on a Friday night and immediately took care of my problem. He was extremely friendly and helpful.

The entire job with 3 to 4 people working took one and half days. Day 1 The first day was focused on removing existing electrical service and electric panel, preparing the new service for the new circuit breaker, and digging a new trench for the underground garage wiring. With the exception of the furnace and our turtle habitat, the house was without power for about 8 hours. By the end of their workday, the new circuit breaker was installed and electricity to the house was fully restored. The old electric meter was disconnected. The power line was connected in a temporary fashion. Because it was an unusually cold November day, with temperature hanging around freezing, Mr. Clar's crew connected the furnace and the turtle habitat (via extension cord) to their power. Thus, no one inside the house was chilly. Day 2 Finishing up the electrical service to the extent that the electricians were allowed and installing the underground garage wiring/receptacle/lighting took about 5 hours. The work would have been completed sooner but Mr. Clar decided that our internal garage lighting and wiring should be changed (upgraded) to comply to village code. This was not in the contract and Mr. Clar didn't not charge us for it :) The garage was likely built before the village adopted any electrical code. Some things were not quite right. Then, one of last summer's big storms killed the electricity to the garage. After the crew cleaned up and left, Mr. Clar waited for the village inspector. The inspection went smoothly and quickly. Three weeks after ComEd received a notification from the village inspector ComEd inspector came to inspect the new electric service. Two weeks after ComEd inspector came ComEd technician permanently connected the power line to the service mast and installed a new meter. This took about 15 minutes. It has been almost 11 months. Everything has been fine.

Jamie absolutely lived up to the excellent reviews he has on Angie's List. He was well within the arrival window and immediately got to it. He's very easy to talk to and super helpful. No b.s. or fluff. I will absolutely be using Clar Electric for all my electrical needs going forward.

Called and left a short message requesting service. They never returned my call.

It took 2 weeks to get an appointment I'm guessing bc of this deal, but he did tell me that I could call anytime and he would be able to come much quicker.

I had sent Jamie pictures and explained that the fixture is very high up (approx 12-15 feet)in a stairway. It is a tricky area with 2 levels of stairs. I was under the impression that he understood the complexity of the job. He was very professional in the installation of closet lighting.

He came and installed the lights, doing a great job as always in a very friendly and courteous way.

He was running late and called to let me know. Job done fine when he showed up.

I contacted Clar Electric on a Tuesday and needed a grounding pole installed for my new home, as it had never had cable TV and needed to be grounded. I sent a message to Jamie through Angie's list and he responded within minutes! It was unbelievable. I explained my problem and urgency as the cable company wanted to install the cable on Thursday of that same week. Jamie squeezed me in and came out within 2 days and installed the grounding pole, even though he was backed up on his regular appointments for about 2 weeks. His response time is unsurpassed and he is an exceptional communicator. He came out exactly when promised and quickly installed the grounding pole. While he was out, I requested an estimate for some additional electric work to be performed at a later date. He sent me a written estimate via e-mail the same day. I was 110% pleased with the service and incredible response time, professionalism and friendliness provided by Jamie. I would highly recommend Jamie and Clar Electric for any electrical work. He is the best!

Jamie is so great to work with. He gets right back to you and is very honest and forthright. The pricing was very reasonable. They showed up on time and there was no sign they had even been there. They dealt with all the permits and inspectors for me. Poor guy had to wait several hours for the final inspection too. It has been a couple months and I can't tell you how nice it is to be able to run our window units and use the microwave! Don't hesitate to use Jamie for a second.

Jamie and team are super. He responds super fast to your requests and gets you quoted and set up for an appointment in his schedule. His team is very punctual and works super fast and did an excellent job. Would not hesitate to use Jamie again!!

Work was done in two stages. First the junction box had to be installed. I had to repaired and repainted the ceiling to get it ready for the fan installation. The service was good and very professional.

Getting a new ceiling fan installed was a breeze, thanks to an Angie's List deal and Jamie, a great electrician. Jamie, who is pleasant as well as professional, handled the job in about an hour, with no sense that he was trying to get in and get out as fast as possible because the deal was a flat-rate offer. In fact, Jamie was almost finished installing the wall control when he decided that the switch wasn't centered exactly right. So he took it all apart and did it over. Excellent service.

Timely and professional. Jamie knew what he was doing and got the fan installed quickly. Certainly the kind of thing I can do myself but he did it in half the time.

He identified the problem and fixed it. I thought it was the switch but it was the light bulb. Everything went okay after that. They didn't fix anything but they told me what was the problem. They were on time. I will probably use them again.
