 + -1 moreThey called back promptly and made an appointment which they were on time for. He said that he would be happy to take our money and replace the ceiling but it does not need to be replaced. Explained how to clean the mildew from the ceiling, apply a couple coats of Kilz and repaint and save the money. Wow honest and ethical, I am keeping Ace's card.

Description of Work: Service performed was repair of drywall in shower that had gotten moisture damage. I called the company and spoke with Dan on 8/22. We immediately made an appointment for 8/28 for him to assess the issue and provide a quote. I was happy to learn that the drywall did not need to be replaced since it was intact at the core, but just needed the surface damage removed, along with repairing improper taping from when the house was first built, and "re-surfaced", treated and sanded. Since the quote was very reasonable, we scheduled Dan to begin work on 8/29, for three consecutive days. ( walls needed to dry in between treatments). Dan arrived punctually at 8am each day and was thorough and efficient with the work. He explained to us the next steps needed for multiple applications of a heavy duty primer, which we could easily handle ourselves to save money. Dan also evaluated our second bathroom and identified potential issues of the same nature. I definitely plan to use Ace Drywall in the near future to work on the second bathroom. This was one of the best service experiences I've had. The company, and Dan, are extremely professional, accommodating, and knowledgeable. I very much appreciate the positive experience.

 + 1 moreThey took the job as a rush job, dealt with a real lack of quality framing as I did the work, and let's just say my framing skills are a bit lacking, and they made it look great.
Description of Work: They performed some of the best drywall work I have seen. They are meticulous and clean and do a great job. Ver y professional. However, they were quite expensive for a basement project. If the drywall work was tricky I would definitely use them, but be prepared to pay.

 + 0 moreI HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU HIRE ACE DRYWALL FOR ANY OF YOUR REMODELING JOBS. Dan and his partner arrived on time, stayed on schedule as promised, and completed the job one day early. They removed old, damaged drywall and replaced it with green board. They taped, seamed, and sanded. They cleaned up the work space every day and wiped down the walls when the sanding was finished. The process took 3 days; one day less than estimated. They were able to vent most of the plaster dust out a bathroom window so that little dust entered the rest of the upstairs rooms. They covered all carpeted areas with tarps to keep them clean. They were on time every day, worked quickly and efficiently, and took short and infrequent breaks. It was a PLEASURE to hire Ace Drywall and get the job done right.
Description of Work: Dan and his partner re-drywalled our master bath for a remodeling project.

 + -1 moreFrom start to finish the process was great. Dan came over and gave me a quote the day following my call. They were able to start the work within a week. The project lasted 4 days. Every day they called before coming and arrived promptly. They did a nice job of cleaning up at the end of the day. The ceilings look great and that crack in my wall is finally gone. I would not hesitate recommending Ace Drywall to anyone in the future. They did a great job. I will be using them for future projects.

 + -1 moreThe job was excellent. Dan did a very thorough job w/ his estimate and explaining what needed to be done. Although his estimate was higher than an estimate from a different company, it was very clear that he was going to do a very thorough job. He came promptly at 8AM to start the job. Everything was properly covered to protect the floors and the amount of dust was minimal. He returned 2 additional days to allow the drywall repairs to dry and to sand/apply additional coats of compound. Last, he gave very clear instructions about not only priming, but also the name of the primer that he thought would be best (He suspects that our bathroom was not primed well - so my next little job is to prime the entire bathroom w/ USG Sheetrock First Coat and repaint). The extra cost (compared to the other estimate) was definitely worth it and the cracks in the tape in the bathroom are gone.
Description of Work: Repair 2 cracks in tape in master bathroom (crown tapes) & repair about 8 nail pops in the ceiling and a cracked corner bead

 + -1 moreDan at Ace Drywall came over as promised and quoted the job to tape and mud the drywall that I hung up in the bathroom. The was a total bathroom remodel to the studs, When quoted the job, Dan even took the time to show me a few areas where I could improve in hanging up the drywall. Dad completed the job in the time promised and was on time every day!! You couldn't even tell he was at my houe afterwards, as everythng was cleaned up. The worked performed was flawless! I had used another mudder in the past for my other bathroom and you can tell the quality of work that Dan did was much better (night and day difference). The corners were all flat and after I painted, you couldn't see any of my drywall hanging mistakes at all. I will surely use Dan again when I redo my kitchen. If you choose Ace Drywall, you will not be dissapointed, excellent job and fair pricing!

 + -1 moreDan was fantastic. Very friendly and responsive and willing to work his schedule into a tight time frame to coordinate with electrical and painting work we'd already scheduled. I'd use his service again without hesitation. We had a tight timeframe to work in with the electricians and painters already scheduled only a day apart, but Dan understood our predicament and made room for the job and got everything done and it looks like the openings were never there. He really saved the day for our house project.
Description of Work: Repaired approximately 5'x3' hole in ceiling where duct work had been done, another 4'x4' spot in ceiling where a whole house fan was removed, drywall around fireplace where trim was removed, and several openings left from electrical work.

 + -1 moreI called up Dan and he promptly came out and gave me an on site estimate that I felt was very reasonable for a 400 sq ft room with faulted ceilings. Dan has clearly been doing drywall work for a very long time and he even had a portfolio of pictures of his work. Admittedly, these were pretty old photos, but he never the less was very professional. We gave him the job and were very happy with the quality of his work. He and another worker made 3 visits (1 full and 2 half days). The dust was quite manageable. Dry wall is art. A lot of people claim that they 'do drywall' among a whole bunch of other skills. I'm so happy that I just went with a guy that is really a master of his craft, and I'd suggest you do the same. When we gut our bathrooms in a couple years I'll definitely give Dan a call.
Description of Work: I had some family in the trades help me hang drywall sheets, and I wanted to have a professional do the mudding. Dan came in and did mudding only.

They charged us exactly what they told us they would. They showed up when they said they would. They coordinated the delivery of materials. And they pretty much came in and kept the house clean. They kept it all in that one room and even when that room was done, it was clean. The price was very comparable. We have already scheduled them for more work!

 + -1 moreDan was on time for Friday 5pm appointment. Inspected everything thoroughly. Showed before and after pictures of previous work. Gave estimate and start time availability. Appointment took less than 1/2 hour. We contracted with ACE to do work. Dan and Mike showed up right on time. Protected work areas well. Worked first day about 6 hours and set up fans for dry time. Worked about 4 hours the second day. Set up fans again. Finished on day three in about 1 hour. They cleaned up pretty good at the end of each job.I just primed last night and their work is great. Very pleased with the quality and attention to detail. They definitely know what they are doing and took my bad job of hanging the drywall and fixed everything up perfectly.
Description of Work: Tape, mud and sand new drywall in hallway and bathroom. Also, hung a few sheets of new drywall in hallway.

The original builders of the house did not use enough nail/screws to secure it and used mostly glue which over the years has deteriorated. Ace Drywall had to lift the drywall, secure it was screws, retape and sand the drywall. From start to finish the job took 3 days and we were and have been very pleased with their work. We plan in the near future to have them come back and do a similar job in our rec room.

It was a very positive experience that allowed me to not put off all the other things we needed to do, which created work for others.
