ABC Humane Wildlife Control & Landmark Pest Mgt

The gentleman who came out was right on time. He knew what he was doing and he looked like he was from a great company but he said that there was nothing that he can do for us because our problem was not animal related. We have had some mysterious smell in our house that comes and goes and so they were one of the many avenues that we were looking at to see if we could discover what that smell was and where it was coming from and he told us right away that it was not from an animal. We really were not able to use them even though we would have if he had found something. He was professional and I actually talked to someone from the company before he came out and they made the appointment very quickly for us. Everything was smooth and you could tell that they were very good at what they did. The gentleman checked passable things outside for us and it took him about ten minutes but he was quickly able to figure out that it was not animal related. Everything that he did was just topnotch so I would recommend them in an instant. We did not care how much the service would cost. We just wanted to get the problem solved. I do not have anything to compare their pricing to but I am sure that they are well worth the money from what I saw.

We had a slow start because of difficulty to access the flying squirrel entry point. Once that was taken care of it went fine and then we moved into the construction phase which was completed quickly. Not entirely thrilled with the mess left behind from the construction and the price was substantial, but at that point we just wanted it secured to prevent re-entry.

They did seem like they overcharged. They were very expensive. They never even saw the animal so I don't even know if there was an animal to begin with. My interaction with them was fine.

Summer of 2012 we had two colonies of bats roosting in the attic. We had used ABC before and were happy with the work so we called them first. Brandon came out and pointed out the areas where the bats were obviously entering the attic - around the chimneys and under some freeze board.. He proposed a price of $800 for sealing those areas, installing excluders and returning to remove the exlcuders. He said there would be no guarantee as there were other potential points of entry that were not included in the proposal. The work was completed in a satisfactory manner. In the fall I caulked a number of potential entry points on my own. I noticed that in the area around the chimney where ABC had worked there were still some gaps that I tired to fill from inside the attic. In the summer of 2013 I noticed a few bats around and there was a small amount of fresh bat droppings in the attic. Overall the problem was greatly improved but not eliminated. I called ABC back and Tyler came out to provide an estimate on 8/30/2013. He basically walked around the house and said that in his opinion the bats were still entering from the points where the soffits meet the roof. He also pointed out a bat resting in the recessed light by the front door. Being the Friday before Labor Day, Tyler told me he would get a proposal to me by Wed. I called a couple of times and eventually on 9/20 he sent a proposal. The estimate was for $2200 to seal eight soffit joints, install 2 excluders and "custom fabricate" an excluder for the front door light. I called Tyler to discuss the proposal and he never returned my call. The bid seemed excessive to me so I called A-Action Pest Control of Antioch for a second opinion. Adam did a through job of inspecting the situation inside and out (for $100) and proposed to seal a number of areas, including the soffit joints, additional freeze board, flashing, etc. and install an excluder for $600. I hired them and was very happy with their work. I was unconvinced that the recessed light was an entry point , as the front entry area was also a feeding area where the bats roosted at night. I thought it was possible the bat Adam saw had just decided to sleep there for the day. in any event, I "custom fabricated" and installed my own excluder to cover the light - in 30 minutes using $10 worth of material from Home Depot.. So, overall my grades reflect relative satisfaction with the work done in 2012 ("B") and complete dissatisfaction with their proposal in 2013 ("F"). When he came to the house Tyler told me that the company was "really busy". Perhaps that is why it took 3 weeks to provide an estimate, why my phone calls weren't returned and why no one ever followed up on the proposal?

If you want to feed all the squirrels in the neighborhood and pay to have this company come pick them up, this is your provider I had a squirrel problem, so I called. The gentleman who came out to inspect was very nice but said there were no squirrels and no sign of entry. I had him check again because I knew he was wrong. He found the rather large hole and set a trap on the roof. They then proceeded to capture about squirrel a day for several days. I got tired of feeding all the squirrels in the neighborhood and being charged 90 dollars to have each squirrel picked up (what a scam) so I told them to come get their trap. I then hired Myron who put the trap over the hole and caught 5-6 squirrels entering or leaving the house and charged me a flat fee. Both providers killed the squirrels which did not bother me since they did thousands of dollars worth of damage but I think ABC represented they took the squirrels and released them. There was one technician named Fred who was excellent but everything else was inconsistent.

We had some mice in our house and we bought the Deal because of this. They were very prompt, professional, and courteous in coming out, but we were ultimately able to find another company that charged us about 25% of what ABC Humane was asking. Also, the scope of activity that they offered in the Deal was not accurate, they wanted to charge us quite a bit more for something we didn't ultimately need.

The service worked out good. They captured what we needed them to capture. They were prompt and easy to work with. They caught the animal and so they were fine.

It was hard to find a provider for bats. ABC quoted us $2,400 for the bat removal and $300-400 for bee removal. They were only going to insure the efficiency of their product for four months for the bees. They came to our house and pounded plastic tubes into our roof so now our roof needs to be fixed. They said we had a colony of bats, we only ever saw one. They created a new problem for us with the tubes. My husband ended up catching in the bat and the State of Illinois removed it. They refunded our money for the bee spray as they had forgotten to spray for the wasps. It was a nightmare of a situation and they did not seem very educated and they needed to repeatedly come out for the bat excluder. Noone would return my calls, there were issues with not didn't showing up/canceling appointments etc.

He was professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend him to others. Out of 16 houses in my neighborhood that has inspections, there were 14 of them where bats have been discovered in the attic. The extraordinary cold winter has driven the bats into pleas where they had not entered previously.

We successfully caught an opossum and the indicator they set up suggests there is no more in my backyard.

Trap was set and over the course of 2 weeks, 3 animals were caught 2 possums and 1 raccoon. The skunk was never caught but it did seem like the skunk had moved on and our yard stopped smelling of skunk spray. Most likely one of the animals that were caught kicked the skunk out of its den, so thou the skunk was never caught it did move on away from our property. The service is charged for each time they make a site visit after the first initial visit. The first initial visit was paid via an Angies List deal. Each time they came out to remove the animal there was a $75 charge.

Didn't enter house even though I said I thought there was an area where mice were getting in. Glad I didn' t pay more.

However, the office did not inform him about the full extent of the job for which we had contracted - he thought he only had some caulking and not the screening of access points and extensive filling and caulking needed to keep bats out of our home. He took it all in good stride and did everything to our satisfaction.

We were very pleased with the promptness and professionalism that was shown. I believe it was Phil who came. He told us that he did not think the skunk we had seen in our yard a couple times was living here. We told him we knew we had a rabbit under the deck and he explained that rabbits and skunks don't usually reside together. He explained every thing very well. He could have set a trap just to make some money but was very honest with us. We haven't had a skunk problem since.

Very nice and professional guys that came out. Told me my problem but was not able to preform a service to the situation. They wanted to chemically remove the pests and I wanted them baited/trapped. I was told they could not. After getting several second opinions and doing my own research, baiting and trapping was the most common recommendation to the problem. I felt as if my appointment was more of a sales pitch versus than a service call. I have no use now for the "big deal" as ABC Wildlife provided me with a free estimate to my problem.

Were punctual and professional. I had heard squirrels and the attic and they saw feces. They looked around outside for openings in the roof. They found an opening in my neighbor's roof, not mine. These are attached townhouses. They were going to call my condo association to explain the situation and claimed they would get back to me. They got back to me days later and said they never heard from my association. The association said they never heard from ABC. May be poor office help at ABC. The association's roofer will check for the opening in the roof.

They were great. They came out I think within 24 hours of when I contacted them. They were great. Every time I would call them, they were here the same day. They filled the hole and they suggested things like electronic fencing kind of things that I opted not to do heading into the winter but I might do them in the spring. I would definitely use them again.

Friendly, professional, everything went well and according to the discussions and plan laid out. We had racoon damage in our attic and ABC fixed everything. I ask a lot of questions and there was never a lack of patience--which I appreciated very much. Professionalism cannot be matched (in my limited experience) and this is the team for a job well-done. The only problem was me. In the end, I thought there were still holes in my roof. There were not. The shingles were a different color (which I knew would happen from our discussions, but had forgotten about with everything else we needed done) and from the ground I thought there were holes by the fans. Not the case; those were new shingles! :-) ABC was fantastic from start to finish. We will use them again and I have recommended them to others. ($0 cost because I don't remember at the moment)

ABC Humane helped me get rid of a family of skunks living under our shed. They were very informative and easy to work with with great flexibility for my schedule. We are now skunk free and I have a border to prevent future infestations!

The service provided me by ABC Humane Wildlife Control & Prevention Inc. didn't turn out that well. They didn't do a very good job of placing the trap. They tried to sell some additional services, which I don't think we really needed. I did not get the results I wanted. I haven't had any issues since they put the trap in.

Opinion was chipmunks. Recommendation seemed very costly and overdone.

The only problem is that every time a squirrel is caught in a trap we get charged $75 for them to come out and remove and place a new trap in its place. This can become costly depending on how long they feel no more squirrels will come onto one's roof and try to enter one of the air vents into the attic and internal walls to make a home for the winter.

ABC Humane Wildlife Control & Prevention Inc. worked out good for me. They got rid of the raccoons and I haven't had a problem since then. They were prompt, fast and good. I liked them. The price was very reasonable. They came out the same day I purchased the Big Deal or maybe the day after. They were very prompt in getting out right away.

Very professional and punctual. Did a great job of finding the location of entry and taking care of it quickly. Gave us all the options and prices up front.
