ABC Humane Wildlife Control & Landmark Pest Mgt

Overall we were very satisfied with ABC and I would highly recommend them. They probably are a little expensive, but I think they are worth it. I would especially recommend them if you have a more advanced or difficult problem that goes beyond mere trapping - they are up to the task and offer a unique combination (in my experience) of being able to both handle the animal and structural side of the problem. Our building's issue with squirrels was intermittent but persistent. The animals had been trapped in the past, but they always returned. After dealing with with other trapping companies, we called ABC and they were great from the start. They first sent a representative to conduct an inspection (when the inspector determined that it coincided with an Angies Deal, he gave us the Deal rate). He then recommended that a scaffold would need to be put in place for several weeks to trap the animals, confirm they were gone, and to facilitate inspection and repair of the roof. All work is guaranteed for five years. We then signed on to the trapping and repair process. It took a few months, total, but in the end all animals were trapped, the entry point was repaired, and the roof was inspected to confirm there were no other entry points. There have been no issues since. This project involved multiple visits from ABC to inspect, construct scaffolding, set and re-set traps, and repair the roof; it utilized both ABC's trapping and roofing teams. At all times, everyone from ABC was punctual, professional, and timely; communication was always very good. They are very much a quality organization. It was great that at the start of the project we were assigned a representative (Tyler) who basically coordinated the entire solution to our problem. The amount we paid for everything was directly in line with what ABC first quoted to us. Now and again there were little delays in follow up, but all it took was a single call saying I was waiting for a call and one came immediately.

Really professional employees; everyone is very polite and do what they say they are going to do. My issue is with leaving the animals trapped (and I am not a fan of squirrels, but they are sentient creatures) and exposed to the elements for up to 24 hours. The other problem is that I was uncertain that we were capturing only the squirrels that were making their home in our house, or if we were attracting other squirrels in the neighborhood. We opted to discontinue the squirrel trapping service and went with another company that used excluder traps and reinforced weak areas of the eaves. Squirrels could leave but not reenter and could not get in another way. I would use this company if I had a different animal issue but probably not for trapping an animal on the roof and letting it sit for almost 24 hours.

The service did not work out so good. They came out and did their thing, but the follow-up with them and the amount that they wanted to charge us for further stuff was ridiculous. So, we dropped using them. They came out fairly quick. They came out a couple of days after we purchased the Big Deal. It was just they were not very open until they got out here, set some traps, and informed us, that if they caught anything, the ridiculous amount of money they were going to charge every time they had to come out and take care of the trap. Then, all their follow-up was just terrible. They set the trap, but they never even came out. We had to call them. They just did a terrible follow-up job and their costs were exorbitant. So, we just handled it ourselves from then on. There were extra charges to the $44 Big Deal if we wanted anything else besides just setting the trap then there are all kinds of additional fees that we did not think was very clear not only in the information that was provided but even when we talked to them on the phone, they did not tell us that until they came out. There was approximately about an additional hundred dollars on top of the Big Deal. They were very professional.

We were relatively happy with the service. We ended up paying additional fees to have them caulk the outside of the house and some other prevention services. They were able to get rid of our mice problem. The technicians have been very nice and professional. They make sure to wear booties when they are inside. It has been very easy to schedule with the company even though they are on the other side of town. They have even been out on a Sunday.

It was fine, I would use them again.

ABC's rep came out on time, and was very professional / polite to talk to. They inspected and setup a trap to catch squirrels on my roof. Within the first few days, they got one...and another...and so on. Ultimately, we ended up paying $300(+ the coupon's cost) for getting the critters relocated. The service is great and works, but it seems expensive at $75 / squirrel. However, it seems like everyone in the area is in this same price range.

When the guy showed up I was super impressed by his professional attitude and friendliness. I pointed out where squirrels had pulled down a corner of the soffit and explained that they were throwing sock hops in my roof. he did his inspection and told me that squirrels had pulled down a corner of the soffit. (???) okaaaaay.................. He set up a trap on a piece of wood hanging 6 feet out in mid air and about 15 feet from the hole. He told me it was there so I could see if a squirrel was in it. Made sense, but it was very far from the hole. I gathered that he had to fasten it to something and as I have a flat roof he had to resort to the satellite dish setup. After about 4 days - and many sock hops - there was a squirrel. I called and they came over. When I asked what they do, this tech told me they could kill it or release it on my property. I didn't ask what the default was, but I confirmed that releasing it was pretty useless. I then offered to check the trap every day with a ladder in exchange for moving it closer to the hole and he told me the trap location was often determined by "technician safety". Whatever. I had read up and determined that relocating squirrels is actually pointless and cruel and decided I could kill them myself. Every trip is $75.00 and with the trap 15 feet from the hole in the roof there would undoubtedly be many many squirrels wandering into it. I guess I think that THEY were supposed to be the professionals. They didn't tell me right away that they could kill them or release them, they didn't tell me relocating wasn't an option, and they didn't offer to set me up with a one way excluder trap which I decided on so that as they left they couldn't get back in. Every tech I met was very polite and professional acting. they also had pat answers prepared for every question which I find insulting and they exhibited no temptation whatsoever to think outside the box and actually solve the individual problem you were having.

We've used them a couple times. Recently, we've had them come in and they set bait and come back every few months to check the bait. They do a good job. They do what they are supposed to do. They are a little pricey.

ABC was great to work with. They provided us with other options to consider, but they were not pushy. They performed the work we requested and were easy to schedule.

It worked well. We have used this twice. They also sealed up any other location that could be used as an entry point.

ABC Humane Wildlife came to a property I was planning to purchase inspected the grounds, all entry points into the house and the roof of the house. They identified a flying squirrel was possibly in our attic. They were on time, professional and provided a prompt response. I was very happy with the service they provided and would recommend them to others.

I called ABC because I could hear animals scratching in the attic over my master bedroom at night. They came out and inspected the attic. They identified the breach. They set traps to catch the animals. They also pointed out potential entry spots for rodents around our foundation. While we haven't seen evidence of rodents, I need to be proactive and have them closed. Because that was a separate issue, there was no heavy sales push. They identified the problem, I inquired about cost, and we focused back on the animals in the attic. The "trappers" as I called them were very professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and considerate. They always put the cloth booties over their shoes and were mindful of debris from the attic when they re-entered the living space. I would use these guys again if I ever have a wild animal problem.

We were never able to catch the target animal, but instead caught a raccoon twice. I ended up releasing the raccoon on my own since I didn't want to pay extra for them to come and release. They ended up picking up the trap without success.

They came and re-position traps as needed, the skunk and babies were not caught but they didn't return after following the advice that was given.

Each of the above problems required multiple steps. Yellow jackets: They had burrowed under siding near chimney and built large nest. Terminex serviceman sprayed area outside where yellow jackets had entered house. ABC then closed off the outside entrance, then came inside to eradicate and barricade area where they were getting into living quarters. Chipmunks: ABC set traps to cut down area's population. Then (this was the expensive part) ABC crew installed angle irons wherever necessary to prevent future burrowing under and inside house siding.

This company has already removed over 12 skunks and 8 raccoons from my yard over the past three years. Their workers are quite friendly, prompt, take good care of the animals, and are very proficient at their jobs.

They were very honest. Said my traps were pretty full showing very little mouse activity, and that I could easily go six months without service

The technician was very nice and knowledgeable. We just decided not to continue with the company and set up full traps.

I have used ABC Wildlife in the past very successfully. Once to retrieve a dead rodent under the front stairs outside of my house and once to remove a bird from my chimney. Both times were prompt responses and reasonably priced. I called on 11/17 to discuss some rat activity outside of my house. I wanted to have some vent guards and flower bed guards and things done to deter the rats away from the house before they broke through to the house. They came out 11/19 to survey the area. Tyler the man who came to do my estimate was very thorough and explained everything to me. He said he'd have a formal estimate to me by the end of the day or early the next morning and that the work wouldn't be done before Thanksgiving but it would before Christmas. After not receiving a response I emailed him 11/21. And 11/28. No response. Not even an "I'll get back to you soon". I also called the office on 11/24, 12/2, and 12/3. Each time they just told Tyler to email me and each time he told them he did. On 12/3 when I called I said "Hey do you want my business or do you want me to just give you a bad Angie's List review and call someone else". That's when they transferred my call to Tyler and he swore up and down that he'd sent the estimate already and that I should check my spam folder, which I already had many times. He then emailed it to me twice. The estimate was for $3,000. I called someone else who did all the same things about a week after I called him to the tune of only $500. I don't write this to complain but rather point out to them what's going on with their business. They have been a dependable and responsive business to me and my neighbors in the past. There are multiple reviews similar to this one that have been recently written. Its sad to see their decline.

Inspected attic and found no trace of raccoon being there. Inspected exterior of house and only found raccoon waste. Set an outside trap and caught one raccoon within two days. Called for pickup and they came right out within hours. Set another trap and left it for about 10 days with no further activity. They came and picked up the trap. Everything about the service was very professional. I would only mention the technician, after the inspection, provided a quote for future services that were 100 times the cost of the initial inspection cost. Some of the services were valid and some were 'up-selling', in my opinion.

It was fine. I was expecting a little bit more.

We still have these things around. We have to keep doing it and I don't feel like spending the money to do it. Our experience with them was fine, but the chipmunks are all over our neighborhood. I didn't want to keep up with this program so I can't fault them for that because I just didn't want to spend money. Their responsiveness was good. They came out when they were supposed to come out and they were easy to work with. They were very good with punctuality. They were very professional.

Kind of mixed. Still in the process. Waiting till the end of this process to see if we can say yep it worked out good or nah not what we wanted. I'm really struggling to place a review right now because we had them come out for a mouse/mice problem and we still have activity. What they had to do was extend the offer that we had bought because there was still activity in the attic. There is still activity and this is after we paid an additional 1200 dollars to have holes sealed up that was going to solve everything and it has really been an up and down experience. There was a guy who came the first time, Jeff, Fantastic! He came again because I called and said "you get someone in here that knows what there doing." The problem is we have guys come in here who have no idea what there doing. So the problem is, one time the man comes who is terrific and the next guy to come is terrible. So I'm having this problem of how do I get the right person in here to do the job right because I'm relying on reviews to see who I want to work with just like all the other Angie's List members. Even if at the end, they have extended it for a couple more visits, and there is no activity I will say it worked out well. But to get to it there was a lot of up and down.

They came and replaced the bait in the mice traps as agreed. However we continued to hear squirrels (or some other kind of pest) in our attic. Instead of putting bait traps in the attic their answer was to put traps on our roof to trap squirrels. We live in an area with a lot of trees, so I'm guessing hundreds of squirrels run across our roof each day. After a couple days of them picking them up we stopped this - they could place a trap there for the next 10 years and a squirrel will be caught. They put a "temporary" patch on the attic roofline. We continue to hear animal noises in the attic and saw that their "temporary" patch was duct tape, and after speaking with a customer service rep they "forgot" to come and replace it. Whatever. They came out ... and put more duct tape there. They charged us for "sealing the space" but never did. They came out again today to put another "temporary" patch. After I talked to customer service today their term "temporary" means permanent. ????? Save yourself some money and pick another company. We paid all this money and STILL hear animal noises in our attic.
