* They kept me apprised every step of the way. Their communication was excellent, with texts and phone calls. And they finished the work a day earlier than I expected! * A line had rusted, but instead of replacing the whole line, they were able to do a workaround and just replace the portion that had rusted. That was a huge savings for me, and I have no doubt some other car places would have told me I had to do the whole line. * They have an Emissions Testing machine. So I didn't have to take the car and go to the Emissions place to test it, they did it for me, and saved me the trip and headache. That was a wonderful bonus. * They are a family company that has been in business for 30 years....so they don't just have a mission statement to fulfill....they ARE their mission statement. And it showed in everything they did.

The work on my car was fine and the price was comparable, but the waiting room smelled like a dirty ashtray and the lady who helped me was rude. I didn’t go back.

I've used them for five years. They work with you and they tried to get my car passed with the minumun expense. The staff was good and they even gave me a ride back to the office.

This place is amazing I finally found somewhere to take my car that is honest and very inexpensive. They are a family owned business and from the first day that you go that you go there, you feel as though you are part of their family also. They will take all the time you need to explain what they did, and also explain things that you do not need to spend your money on. iI was so tired of going to Firestone at Roselle and Wise who constantly put things on my bill for the future, saying that I needed this and that, then finding out from The Car Factory that none of it needed to be done. Many others I know have also complained of Firestone doing this to them. I need to find someone honest, so I looked on Angie's list and found The Car Doctor, who had amazing reviews. Now I know why. I recently got a quote from Firestone for some work that they said needed to be done. their quote was $800.00 - I took it over to The car Doctor and they said they would do it for $400.00!!!! Huge savings!!!!!! I would by far recommend this place to anyone who lives in the Schaumburg, Roselle, Elk Grove, Elgin or other nearby suburbs to get their work done here. I was more than impressed by their knowledge, expertise, friendliness, service, price and quality of work.

I have used the Car Doctor in the past with my vehicle as well as my wife's. We were very satisfied before and I felt comfortable going back. I of course was not disappointed. I brought my car in around 9am and discussed my issues with Scott and he advised he would look over the car and call me back. I received a call within an hour. Scott advised me that my rear brake pads were bad instead of my front which I originally thought. He also pointed out that instead of replacing my rotors he could resurface them. He could not find any leaks in my a/c unit but stated he would add a sealer which should work on any small leak. I picked up my car within a few hours and all my issues were taken care of. He also threw in a FREE oil change. I'm very happy to find a company I trust and will continue to use them for any maintenance issues.

awesome, Dennis and his staff, i dealt with were very honest and professional. Car doctor staff call and explain in details on the what need to be done and what would it cost. After the okay, the car was done in within 48 hours or less. When I arrived to pick up my car, Dennis explain again in details on what they did and show the part they repair on the Kia. Again the same, results with the Galant. Dennis was professional, honest, and punctual on the repairs. When I didn't have a ride, Car Doctor has a courtesy shuttle ride to pick up my car. I would Recommend them to everyone.

Excellent service! The folks at Car Doctor were very friendly and took care of the services as scheduled. I will be sure to go back for my car Maintenance needs. they are prompt, fast and thorough.

I have never had such a pleasant time getting auto repair work done. One of the many reasons I joined Angies List was to find a reputable mechanic who wouldn't give me the run around. My dad had been taking our cars to firestone the last year or so, and I always felt they "found" problems with our cars or did a sub par job. But the professionalism displayed by everyone at Car Doctor was amazing. I took my car in there and explained I had a burning smell after driving it for a bit, a couple codes came up on the check engine light, and I needed spark plugs done. Firestone quoted me $700-800 to do all of that (note they were only going to see what the burning smell was, not fix it, that would of costed more). I dropped my car off at 6pm on Friday night and an hour later Scott and his guys found out that it was a plastic bag that wrapped around the exhaust. They also said they found no oil leak, which Firestone said they had, which had originally prompted my concern to get the car in ASAP. The next day they call me back and explain the pricing at what they found with the codes, not surprisingly it was a lot less money, and less actual work than Firestone had found. They said they would be done by 4, and Scott called me around 3:30 to just update me that everything went fine, he also explained his credit card machine went down and since I offered cash they made it an even $420! I'm very pleased with the work that was done. My dad, brother, and fiancee will be bringing their cars over there to get them looked at, and for any work that is needed. They have gotten 4 more customers because of their fair prices, professional attitudes, and being straight forward with me.

I called on a Saturday morning and inquired about their Weekend Oil Change Special. They confirmed that the cost would be $14.95 including all oil and the oil filter. I was scheduled 45 minutes later at 10am over the phone. I arrived about 15 minutes early but they went ahead and took my van in early. I was a little put off by a man sitting behind the counter smoking a cigarette when I walked in to the shop. However, the man (Dennis), was very nice and spoke to an older woman who had actually talked with me over the phone earlier. I think she was a prior owner of this business who had sold it to her son and she was just filling in for her son who was on vacation. (based on subsequent conversation with her). She was not too friendly at first..instead of asking politely for my keys she simply said "Keys" to me without smiling when she wanted me to hand over the keys to my van. I would expect more smiling and friendliness towards a brand new customer, but perhaps she was feeling irritated by having to fill in for her son and "not getting paid for it" as she told me. After taking my keys she came out into the lobby waiting area and turned on the TV for me and handed me the remote. I thought this was very thoughtful of her. (Please note that I had just previously mentioned to her that I had heard about their shop on Angie's List. This may have prompted her to be more friendly to me at that point). She then stepped outside to smoke a cigarette which I appreciated. Though I really don't like tobacco smoking near me at a place of business at any time. It's a real turn-off for me. My van was completed in about 40 minutes. I found Dennis and the woman above and the mechanic who changed my oil to be very friendly as we engaged in chit-chat just before I left the shop. I would definitely go back to have my oil changed again as the price was very competitive. The smoking needs to go though.

Dennis was very friendly and professional. He answered all my questions and offered suggestions when I couldn't figure out a solution. He was not pushy either and what he quoted me, he charged me.

He is excellent. He is not a rip off, and he is very honest. He is very processional, and very good.

The experience went very well overall. Doc was friendly, efficient and straight to the point. I had confidence in his recommendations. The work was completed in one day & I was able to pick it up after work. Got the impression he really knows his cars.

I bought a used car last registered in a state that doesn't have front license plates, so I needed a plate bracket mounted. Car Doctor did it while I waited. I took under an hour and they did a great job. This was probably the third or fourth time I've used Car Doctor. I have found the Car Doctor team to be honest, reliable, fast, and their services are reasonably priced. The owner works harder than anyone I've ever met and seems to really love his work.

I would highly recommend them to others. I used them when Dennis was there and now it is his son Jeff. I recommended them to everyone and my son uses them too. If someone mentioned car problems, they are the first ones that come to my mind. I spent about $20 on that last service because it was a minor repair. I don’t even shop for price anymore because they are so honest and dependable, don’t go anywhere else. They are just great to deal with and very honest. I had stuff that was under warranty and I did not even know, but they told me and I did not have to pay for the part.

The service they provided was wonderful. They went above and beyond to even take me back to my home. I would use them in the future.

They are fantastic. They are extremely honest and reasonably priced - I don’t even check what the prices are anywhere else. They are dependable; if they say that the car will be ready on a particular day, it will be. I have had no problems with the quality. I have nothing negative to say about them at all. I have recommended other people to them.

Excellent. Jeff inspired trust with his confidence and expertise. He swiftly evaluated my car and explained the problem clearly and logically. When I picked the car up the problem was solved and he had taken it to the emissions inspection station where it passed. Jeff's skill was evident not only in the success of the repair but in the way he deals with customers and manages the shop. A steady stream of customers came in while I was there, and he remembered the details of each their cars and car problems from their earlier phone calls. Jeff masterfully orchestrated the tasks for each incoming car, rapidly giving instructions to another technician and taking some of the tasks himself. All in all, Jeff is clearly knowledgeable and wonderful to deal with. I can't imagine taking my care anywhere else for service after this experience.

I would consider hiring this company again in the future but I would keep my options open for another companies as well.

JEFF WAS VERY EASY TO TALK TO. HE PHONED WITH ESTIMATE BEFORE WORK WAS DONE. HE GUARANTEED THAT THE TRUCK WILL PASS OR I DON'T PAY ANYTHING. THEY WERE ACCOMMODATING IN TERMS OF DROP-OFF AND PICKUP TIMES. PRICE WAS OKAY, SEEMS ITS MOSTLY LABOR (ABOUT 2 1/2 HOURS). THE SHOP HAD MY TRUCK OFFICIALLY TESTED BY THE EMISSION FACILITY, SO I DIDN'T HAVE TO GO BACK TO HAVE IT RE-TESTED MYSELF. JEFF ALSO MENTIONED THAT I WILL NEED TO REPLACE A KNOCK SENSOR WITHIN THE NEXT 2 YEARS OR RISK FAILING EMISSION TEST AGAIN.
