Larry, Dan and Brian are the best! Work performed is above and beyond expectations and at the best price around. These guys are a great team to work with. After rehabbing 5 previous homes, we have worked with many contractors. Architechnique is at the top of our list! Larry coordinated all aspects of our project for us. His crew is alway prompt, neat and professional. I look forward to working with them every day. It's been a pleasure. They will always be our first phone call and first recommendation!! Thanks guys

Performed work without permission that was not agreed to in contract, then charged excessive rates for that work. Charged excessive amounts above standard rates for other work we agreed to. Took equipment that was mine and never returned it. Refused to provide work that was paid for. THEN, threatens legal action if his fees aren't paid. Having to send in another contractor to fix their errors was just icing on the cake.

FACT: The member is a "Real Estate Investor", who was extended below market rates for work performed. Our directive was to finish a house that another contractor had left for reasons unknown to us to a state of rental readiness. OPINION: In our estimation he is unhappy ONLY because he had to pay for the work that we completed. Sadly, we must make a living, and are unable to work for free. It is shameful that the member chose to attempt to discredit us in this forum. FACT: The members has made statements and allegations that are not factual, should be stricken, and will be subject to appropriate legal action if not rescinded immediately.

Larry damaged the door during installation. I now have to pay someone else to fix and re-install the door. He quoted me pricing for the work I needed to have completed, but did not include the price it would cost to have Tim, a painter, come in to repair and paint a wall. It's odd that every time Larry or Tim come in to work on my home, something else turns up broken. I am trying to get Tim to repair the wall and fix his work, but he's lazy and I have to follow up on all of his work. He left paint drips on multiple projects. He doesn't do quality work and is very slow. I am no longer using Larry or Tim for services in my home. I was very disappointed, as it sounded as if their work would be better as they said they worked for builders and commercial. They were misleading in quoting pricing for jobs (ex: not including paint, wood, etc... needed for a project). Stay away! I have laid away at night frustrated with the money that has gone down the drain.
Description of Work: He installed a door for me. He installed 2 countertops. He also installed crown molding in my powder room.

It is disheartening to read the Member's comments, especially in this public forum. In reality the Member is an uneducated consumer of professional services who does not understand that building, repairs, and finishing are a complex process requiring time and developed skills. We did work in this home to repair a door that was improperly installed by a hack contractor that he had hired previously. The door in question was hung out of square, and out of plumb by approximatly three quarters of an inch. We removed and reset the door to standards. There was existing damage to the door strike due to the fact that whomever installed the door originally failed to screw the strike to the door. Every time the door was opened the strike shifted within the door edge causing the crack which he has referenced. In any case we made repairs, and did not damage his property in any way. Other services performed for the customer in question included the installation of countertops and faucets which included removing previously installed "builder" grade hardware and fixtures. The possibility of damage to existing walls in locations where items had been glued to them was clearly, and repeatedly explained. In fact, we talked this customer out of additional work (removing mirrors glued to wallboard)due to the extensive repairs that would have been required. It is unfortunate that our customer does not understand the very simple fact that there is a difference between a job that is finished and one that is not. Tim, our paint and finishing expert, who has over twenty years of quality experience expressed some frustration in dealing with this young man. Apparently he was watching the paint dry and did not understand the shade of a prime coat changes as it dries, and that additional finish coats would yield a uniform and finished appearance. There is a difference between a builders spray finish and a repaired job, essentially the repaired and painted areas were in better condition than that of the builders by having a better and more uniform and smooth appearance than that of what was existing. It is difficult to replicate a poor finish when you are focused on quality. There is also the fact this clients child is present during all work and he is typically wielding tools that were supplied by his father in which case these were used as weapons against us while we were attempting to perform these tasks in question. There was notable damage that was caused by this child while we were there that we repaired for him at no charge. We at ArchiTechnique take great pride in the quality of work that we perform, we also do a post work walk through on all projects assuring that there is no damage to any areas where work was performed. This clent has expressed that he has had several other contractors come in and out of his home and has never found satisfaction and consistantly requests free work from anyone that provides services to him. Ultimately this is an unfortunate circumstance where there is no victor and a contractor is slandered due to the inability for the client to understand working processes. We have several clients that are more than happy with the quality of work that we perform and have commented that they will definately have us back for all of their building and renovation projects.
