+ 0 moreThey had a few delays in getting started but more than a few weeks. The paint looked good and they left no mess. Their work included a 5-year warranty but after two years, the paint was badly peeling from the pergola. The terms of our contract said they would do any warranty work for $100 plus materials. When I called them in May 2013 about the warranty claim, a representative came out to look at the problem and agreed that it had to be sanded and repainted. He immediately wanted to renegotiate the terms of the warranty and charge $200 plus the cost of materials and I agreed to pay the extra $100. It took me about a month to get a firm date for the work but when the date came, they did not show up and did not call. It took me another month to get a second firm date for the work and once again, they did not show up and did not call. I've not heard from them since the last scheduled work date late last summer. I've given up on getting any warranty work out of them.

He was the only contractor to provide me a quote before he left. He explained the whole thing to me and before he left, I was confident that his crew would do great work. Needless to say, I was right. They painted with precision and very clean. Kevin had a constant line of communication throughout the whole process to provide me updates. They finished the project a day early and my wife and I are really pleased with the services provided by Primetime. A+++++

+ 0 moreThere were three painters and the project took two days. Painters were on time, worked hard and were very courteous. Two of the painters did have to come back a third time for about an hour to put a third coat of paint on the laundry room walls. Overall I am very pleased with the results, especially the repaired ceiling. You would never know that it had been damaged. Except for dust (the result of sanding) on the tops of cabinets in kitchen and laundry room they did a good job of cleaning up. This is the third time I've used Prime Time for interior painting. I've also used their service for exterior painting and for power washing the siding of my house. I will continue to use their services in the future.
Description of Work: Painted walls in living room, dining room, kitchen and family room with two coats of paint. Repaired water damaged ceiling in laundry room and painted walls and ceiling with two coats of paint.

+ -1 moreThe painters were professional and prompt. Final price was not too far off of what was quoted to me. The only HUGE issue I had is the paint that the owner, Joe, said they only used. Turns out it is the lowest quality paint Shermin Williams manufactures (found out after the fact when Hubby had to go there to purchase more for touch ups). Now, two years after the fact I have fingerprint/smudge marks all over the walls. Mistakenly touching the walls even lightly leaves marks. Even touch up paint does not take care of it. Mind you, I have no kids or pets - only myself and husband. I would think that being professionals they would have recommended/ exclusively dealt with a better quality paint. We painted our bedroom and master bath with Glidden and we have zero issues. Would go with someone that knows quality products in the future.

+ -1 moreBefore the painting was done, I was given a quote for the labor and materials that I agreed to. Before the job was started, I paid PTT for the materials. The painting was fine. However, when I checked the materials quote vs what was bought, I noticed that I paid more than what was quoted. I called PTT and asked for a refund. I was told that painting is like construction and things happen along the way. In my case, what was quoted for materials was exactly what was purchased. I have hired a number a painters in the past and I never heard of this before. You get an estimate for materials and the show you an invoice for materials purchansed. I was told that they would check on it and get back to me. I never got a returned call. The cost of suppiles and the difference between the quote and what I paid for materials was small in relation to the painting labor expense. However, it's the idea that PTT could come up with a new number for materials without any backup information is what I don't appreciate.

+ 0 moreFirst, they promised me a receipt for all the paint they bought and I did not get those. They were sappy with the painting of the brickwork. They had some one do the carpentry work but he too didn't do a good job. He had to redo some of it. I had an issue with carpentry. Then I had a contract to remove all the waste from the job site. They too didn't do a good job.

Description of Work: We had 18 inch cork square panels glued to the wall. They removed the cork, repaired the wall and cracks in the ceiling and painted. What a beautiful job, wall is smooth, can't feel any bumps. I would use them again, price was right and work was beautiful.

+ 0 moreI believe in Angie's List. I was a customer when I lived in Indiana but lost my membership because when I came to Illinois not a lot of companies even heard of Angie's List so I canceled it. Now that Angie's List is more popular in Illinois I have my membership back. I need a painter now to paint the rest of my house. To my surprise Prime Time Painting has a A/B rating. I do not recommend this company. Perhaps they only do good if your're an Angie's List member. After all you'll write a report on them. Well, I also believe in KARMA. Do not hire Prime Time Painting but if you do, INSPECT ALL WORK AFTER PAINT HAS DRIED THEN PAY FOR THE JOB COMPLETE TO YOUR SATISFACTION not theirs. Wish I could remember who fixed my other wall. I would use them again.
Description of Work: My husband and I hired Prime Time Painting in 2010. We were going to have them paint the whole house, depending on their job. They quoted us $800.00 to remove wallpaper, sand and paint our family room. Removing the wallpaper was very easy. It came off in big strips. However, it left behind lots of glue to sand down. In removing the wallpaper there were two big spots of black mildew on the surface of the wall. They were to wash the black spots with bleach then paint. When finished they didn't sand the walls very well and we could still see the black spots through the paint. They came back and did more sanding, again not good at all. They were not sanding all of the wall, only spots. There was glue all over the walls not just in spots. They repainted only the spots where they sanded and painted the black spots again. Being we used flat paint this worked out ok except they were not sanding all the glue off. Also, they only put on another coat of paint on the black spots. The first black spot was ok but the other was still showing through the paint. Now, for the third time of having to get them to come back they wouldn't come back, they wouldn't even return my calls. I was not happy but I didn't use any foul langauage to keep them from coming back. So, for $800.00 I got a painted room with glue still on the walls and black still showing through the paint. I paid them complete because, well everything looked ok when the paint was still wet. Needless to say we didn't hire them to paint the whole house. I hired a different company and they fixed all of the sanding and the black spot was not mildrew it was an oil spot of some kind and they fixed it. It did cost me another $300.00.

+ 0 more3 men came the day of starting work. 2 taped, covered and moved furniture. The other man went and got the paint. They stopped around 5:00pm. Came back the next day very early and a 4th man joined them. Work was done by 5 pm. They cleaned up and borowed a vac to pick up the dust on the floor. They moved all the furniture back. Very polite and did a great job.
Description of Work: Scheduled time for estimate. Was prompt. Gave me quote for paint, drywall repairs and painting. Told would be done in 2 days.

+ -1 moreJohn arrived the same day as our initial inquiry and that same visit provided his estimate for the work. He explained the terms and how long the job would take. He offered a $150 incentive to start the work the following Monday, since he had some exterior jobs lined up, but the weather was bad and he couldn't start them for at least a week. He specified a Sherwin Williams paint and had literature concerning it. He was planning on two coats everyhwere and knew the existing colors (dark greens and browns). We told him we we were probably going with an off white or creme color and he was fine with that choice. I called him the next day and made arrangements to begin the job on the following Monday with the $150 discount. Monday morning the crew showed up as planned and started preping the house for paint. They are very complete and detailed in their prep. One worker took our down payment (check for material) and picked up the paint, primer, and needed supplies. I checked back in with the crew after lunch and they told me that the paint didn't cover in two coats (and I agreed) which was going to mean, more material and labor for the third coat. I spoke to John and he said he would cover the material and for the additional labor, I would forfiet the $150 discount. Everything else went fine and the job was completed the following afternoon. The only issue for me was the loss of the discount, since the job was completed at the original price and on time. The job probably would have went better (fewer coats) if a better quality paint had been used (Behr primer/paint?). I would certainly use them again, but I might push to use a better quality paint that covers better.
Description of Work: painted first floor complete and 18' high stairwell to second story. Ceilings were not done (per plan).

+ -1 moreI had them return a week later to ftouch up five areas, which they did without hestiation. The job came out very well. The color suggestion were great. They were able to match the paint (same colors, using the old cans from a prior painter) to paint the main areas (kitchen, living/dining rooms, powder room, laundry room , stairways, and loft. I appreciated their willingness to help me rehand the heavy pictures and mirrors. The three men worked from 8:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m, stopping only for lunch. The were polite and trust-worthy. I was able to leave them in my home while I ran errands and went to work. I would consider hiring them again.
Description of Work: I called to have the entire interior of my townhouse painted, including the closets, which included a living/dining room and kitchen with vaulted ceiings, two bedrooms, two baths, one powder room, laundry room, loft, and 4 closets, plus the stairs walls going up and down. On 5/17/10, Senior Sales Representative, Kevin, came out to my home to give me a bid and helped me pick out colors for the bathrooms and bedrooms. Kevin estimated that it would take three days to complete. Three painters arrived on 6/1/10 to start and completed the job, which allowed me time to empty the closets and do other preparations, such as moving itmes out of their way. They were gracious enough to start in my bedroom and bath, which allowed me to resume my normal activites. I had only one night sleeping out of my room. They them did the bedroom and bath upstairs, They plastered needed areas and taped to protect the wood trim and towel hangers. They took down the the drapes/shades, heavy pictures, mirrors and moved the furniture. They used tarps when painting. Once done, they re-hung the sheers/drapes mirrors, pictures and replaced the furniture.

The morning the work was to be done, they canceled with about 20 minutes notice. The work was completed on a rescheduled day and was not high quality. Prep and priming was inadequate and paint job was sloppy.

+ 0 moreWe hired this company to do some wallpaper removal and painting in our master. On the first day of work three guys showed up - two of which had never removed wallpaper before. They were literally gouging the walls improperly and tearing off shreds of wallpaper. It looked like a two year old had done it. Horrible. The worker in the master bath was using a steamer and had water everywhere - including all over our recently refinished marble. They said the wallpaper was really hard to take off and they'd never encountered such a tough job. To test it, I used our paper tiger and DIF solution and took of two sheets of wallpaper without a tear in the drywall. The next morning we took all their equipment and left it on the lawn. I showed the painters how I was able to remove the paper. They were embarrassed. So we basically kicked them out, didn't pay for the mess they made and did the job ourselves. Took 3 weeks, but better than using this incompetent company. The company owner never called!
