Prairie State Water Solutions

My 25 year old pump was going out when I called at 4:30 pm. By 5:30 pm Prairie State Water Systems was at my house to inspect my system and verified that my pump was going out. At 8 am the next day, two men arrived. My pump was replaced with higher grade piping, couplers, and new wiring. As my system was 25 years old, I wanted the control box, pressure switch, and pressure tank in the basement replaced. By lunch I had a new system done at a fair price with a very high level of craftsmanship. I highly recommend Prairie State Water Systems.

Nick came by on a couple of different occasions prior to the install, to go over our problems we were having, and planning for the install day. We can not say enough good things on Nick's professionalism, honesty, knowledge, customer service. On the day of Install Nick came on time, ahead of his installer to do a final look-over. Jesse arrived for the install and got right to work. Also very knowledgeable, professional, clean (all the things a homeowner wants in a contractor) These guys are top notch!! Stop looking for a company to resolve your water filtration needs! We have been having issues for 4 years we have owned the home, had other companies do work, give estimates etc... Those giving estimates were salesman, and were not actually interested in fixing the issue, just throwing parts at our system. We should have called Prairie State 4 years ago!

Very professional and honest crew. Would hire again. I never felt like I was being lied to or sold something I did not need. Matt and his team did a great job and I was quoted a much lower price than some of the other competitors that I received estimates from. We immediately had clean drinkable water the second they walked out the door.

Installation was fast and they fully explained how the system worked. I ran into a few issues with a valve after the install, but Nick was quick to come back and work out the issue for me. I would definitely recommend!

Had a few guys came before who wanted to repipe and put the softener next to water heater. Prairie came in to look and gave a solution to install it right next to the water feed saving me thousands in repipe work. Installation was clean and its hidden in the little closet where the main water comes in.

Nick was professional, knowledgeable and very open about the need or lack of need for a filtration system. For instance, he told us that the water in our municipality tested very well, the implication being that strictly speaking, we didn't need to filter it. When I brought up the issue of our lead piping, he also explained that you can avoid drinking the contaminant by just letting the water run for a little while before filling your glass. Nevertheless, the water has never tasted good to us, and for many years we had been using a "travel" triple-filtration system, i.e., one that had to be hooked up to the sink in the basement and would then overflow the plastic jug if we didn't monitor it. He told me all this on his initial visit, during which he gauged the space under the sink and planned (with my input) where to position the cylinders. A week later (and this was kind of a long lead time for him, but the January weather conditions had put stress on his schedule), he was back to install the system. He did that in an hour or two, and presto, we had filtered water right out of a new tap on the sink, a wonderful change from the old hassle. The system has been working very well for us, and is the best thing we've bought for the house in ages. He'll be back once a year to switch out the filters; the price for that is a reasonable hundred dollars or so.

We had a problem with the filter that was in our plumbing, it was collecting debris. He fixed it and seemed very knowledgeable of what it was. He did a good job. His pricing was fair. He seemed to have the interest of the customer in mind. Very customer service oriented. He seemed very honest.
