POWERHOME Solar

Installation was excellent. But has been over4 weeks and still not functioning. Customer service is the worst. Say they will call and don't. Have spent hours going round and round with them. Waiting one more week and then will seek legal help.

Pros: the salesman, Gary, was very accommodating and professional, and worked to try to give us something that would work. He was also very patient about changing the meeting appointment twice for us. Cons: Far more expensive than average national or Illinois solar rates, and much more than what friends of ours paid for their systems. The quote they gave us came in around $ 4.43/kWh, while the national average for that size system is only around $ 3.56 /kWh, and in Illinois even lower, about $ 2.90 /kWh. They tried several flimsy explanations to justify the very high pricing, such as the State/Federal tax rebates, but I was focusing on the pre-rebate cost, for an apples-to-apples comparison. They tried to sell us the battery system, which we don't need and adds another $ 20k to the tab. We were also shocked that PowerHome did not provide their field team with masks - they originally wanted to have an in-home appointment, and when we asked them about masks, they said their company didn't provide them, and asked us to provide them. Their office staff called s three more times with some slight price reductions, but still very overpriced. finally they seem to be very disorganized: the communications I had with the office team were never communicated to Gary, the onsite rep.

It was very good. They explained the product to me. They were knowledgeable and helped me to see the benefits of it financially. The guys who came to install the panel were very thorough, cleaned up very well, did a good job.

It was wonderful. If I have a question or problem they'll call back and responded right away. It's a wonderful company. All the workers were extremely friendly, they cleaned up after themselves, everything was spotless, and I didn't had any issue after the work.

It was excellent. I was actually their first customer. They just do good job, they care about the install, and how it looks. They cleaned up after wards and everything was working properly when they left.

The service was fantastic. They were here exactly when they were supposed to be here. They did all the wiring, they contacted the power company and set up with them, and they were able to measure that. They got with the county commissioner and trustees. They took care everything for me, it was all smooth sailing from there.
