+ -1 moreIt took awhile to get a callback last year in 2016 when the backyard fence project was installed. However, once they began the project, they were professional and hard working. A plant or 2 were damaged and we were quickly compensated with no argument. We also had an issue with the installation of the door hardware and this was promptly corrected. I was going back and forth between Aztec and Shogren (now part of Peerless) and chose Shogren because i preferred a product they offered. Aztec's pricing was very competitive and they were also professional. I ham now putting up a fence in the front yard and will use Peerless/Shogren again. So far dealings have been very responsive.

+ -1 moreLousy. Don't bother calling unless you have a large project. They are very busy. And, I tried to use the 5% coupon and Craig said that's only for new fences.....which is not what it says here.
Description of Work: At this point--I am very frustrated. I called Peerless because they installed a portion of our fence 7 years ago, and replaced some posts on a portion another company put in a few years ago (replaced rotting posts) Everything was great and they were fairly good about getting back to me. But this time, different story. First they came out in April 20th (2017) to give me a quote--Zach says he will get back to me with quote and nothing. I email him. I call him--nothing. Then I post a review here complaining, and they call me back, saying I needed 28 posts replaced and the quote needed to go to another division so that caused a delay. I said--that's not possible--maybe a dozen posts at most need replacing--there are not 28 rotted posts. They argue that with me (as if I don't know my fence). Then, Craig makes appt, shows up May 18th and he gives me a quote to replace 8 posts (but then writes it up as 7) and said I need to give them 50% down to put it on their schedule and that they are about 2-3 weeks out for doing the work. That was a month ago. I paid them $675. No appt is scheduled --no one calls me to make one, I call twice, but no one returns my calls. Craig picked up his phone and said that I should not expect an appt this quickly. It's now June 18th, and I said--but you said you were 2 weeks out on scheduling and here we go--it's now 2 months since first appt. He tells me you should have counted weeks from my appt, and I say--look it's been almost a month since I gave you $675 and i have no appt. I don't think $1350 is cheap to replace 7 rotted fence posts. I actually think it's on the expensive side and timing is important, as I'm not able to keep taking time off to get this done during the school year. At this point, I just want a refund. They obviously don't need my business. I'm giving up on this company and will take it up with my credit card company.

+ -1 moreNot well. They reverse gate swing and tore out edge that interfered and damaged plants. Also some of the fence picked place in the ground will start rotting. Pickets should be a 1 or 2 off the ground. Didn't clean up left a mess and left the hose out and water running. I'll spend time correcting the mess.

+ -1 moreso far--interesting-now they sent a second estimate person to my house. The first person said i had 28 rotted fence posts and then disappeared and i never heard back from him. After I called and complained here on the list re no communication, they sent out an second person. This estimate person said I only 7 posts replaced (I thought 8-12). I signed contract and gave half down. I hope they come back soon to do the work. This is the third time I've used them to fix or install fence. Their work, in the past, has held up very well and that's why I stick with them. Also, when my gates that they put in were settling, they came out two years in a row, for free, and adjusted the latches for me.
Description of Work: I needed rotted out fence posts replaced (6 foot). They are replacing non treated posts with treated ones.

+ -1 more2 weeks after we contracted Peerless Fence, the installers called to set up an install date. They arrived on time and went right to work. In a day and a half we have a beautiful new fence. The yard was left spotless.
Description of Work: We had 100 feet of privacy fence blow down. The fence was old, and after evaluating the remaining fence we decided to replace the whole 300 feet of fence. We called multiple contractors in our area. Michael from Peerless was there within a few days. He gave us a variety of options. We went with a board on bord (Shadowbox) fence in copperwood.

+ -1 moreI worked with Tom from Peerless Fence I would highly recommended him. I would say there's often a long wait period like between when you order the fence and when you get it put in but the sooner you book it the sooner you get the fence but they did great job.

+ -1 moreCraig (salesman) and the install team: A+. Scheduling/Office: D. The estimate was timely and reasonably priced, and the actual installation went well. Very happy with the quality of the fence and workmanship having it installed. We were scheduled for a 9AM installation, and the installers did not arrive until 5PM. No one ever told me that we'd been rescheduled; I only found out through calling their main number several times after the initial no-show (the foreman eventually came by personally to tell me they were coming at 2:40PM). Repeated calls to Peerless trying to find out what was going on throughout the day were sent to voicemail, and I rarely got calls back. Again, the quality is great, but the experience was really frustrating. I'm happy with the fence, and the installers did a fantastic job, but it was a waste of an entire day to wait for them with no indication that I was rescheduled or they were going to be so late.

+ -1 moreEstimator came on June 7, took measurements, said they were really busy, so wouldn't have the estimate until that Friday (June 10). It is now June 25th and still no estimate. Spent a week calling Peerless & being told the estimator would contact me. When he finally left a voicemail, said he had been out of town on an emergency, but was back now & would send the estimate soon. That was 8 days ago. Disappointed, used Peerless several years ago at another house, but they won't even bother to give us an estimate this time.

+ -1 moreI contacted Peerless in December to have 2 gate latches replaced on an existing fence. It took some time for them to find a replacement, since the broken ones had been discontinued. I was quoted $400.00 for the latches and installation. We agreed to wait until Spring to have them installed. When I contacted them for installation, I was really given the "runaround". Numerous calls and emails, transferred to other people in the company who had no idea what I was taling about, then I was obviously disconnected when the rep I had been working with recognized my number on caller id. I followed up with another email, but have not heard back yet, which was 3 weeks ago. Seriously?? I've never posted a negative review before, but this was ridiculous. If you're buying a brand new fence from them, you'll probably be ok. Proceed with caution if you expect great customer service for anything else. (In the meantime, I replaced the latches myself for $50.00)

Phil was responsive and accommodating, making a second trip out to our house and revising the estimate after we changed the fence layout from the initial consultation. Phil also gave clear instructions for obtaining the necessary permits. We are particularly impressed with the professionalism and courtesy of the crew. On the day of the install, the crew (lead by Ismael) arrived on time and checked in to begin the work. The crew was neat, tidy, courteous to us from the start and were very professional in dealing with unexpected circumstances involving a neighbor who was not pleased with the fact that installation of the fence on our property required the crew to be minimally on their property.The crew handled it very professionally, informed us of the situation, and remained focused on completing the install in the most unobtrusive and efficient manner possible. They really did a great job in all respects under difficult circumstances. On top of this, the fence looks great and is very sturdy - installed to last. We could not be happier with the work and the product.

+ -1 moreI received competing bids for this project and although Peerless Fence was not the most inexpensive, the bid seemed fair and encompassed all I had requested. It took a while to get this project off the ground because of my construction issues but I was delighted to see the bid pricing remained the same although I had passed the initial bid time perimeters. The staff, led by Theo, arrived on time. Theo asked for my input on a couple issues I had not even thought of (i.e. how the fence should be trimmed given they were working with two different heights) and made suggestions about how it might be be handled -- both of which I liked and agreed to. The crew were obviously well accustomed to what they were doing so, after the initial discussion, I left and didn't return until after they were gone. Upon arriving back the project was completed, the area clean and neat, with the finished product looking wonderful. I would definitely recommend Peerless Fence and will use them again.

+ -1 moreI had to deal with an association so this project was 3 years in the making trying to get it approved but every bit worth it having Peerless Fencing installing it and having a job done correctly and looking as awesome as it does. From John Kaiser my sales representative having the patience knowing how associations can get and got me everything I needed so I can plea my case and not use the associations preferred vendor (who did a terrible job at our 1st ever pvc full fence install.) After seeing that install I knew I wanted Peerless Fencing to do my job. I looked at many fencing companies but saw their work and was very impressed at there quality. Can not say enough for Don the scheduler who we had to deal with nicor digging in the area I was to get my fence in and siding issues that needed to be done before the install and then we ran into bad weather. Don sent out his top man Felix and his crew to install my fence and I can not say enough on how great he was. Any issues he showed me and we got it resolved and his workmenship it is top notch. They cleaned up the area beautifully. Do not hesitate to use these guys if you want a super great job and you want to be very pleased!!

+ -1 moreInstallation team was very prompt and professional. They were very attentive and appeared genuinely interested in insuring the fence was installed exactly how we wanted it. We had initially planned to bypass an Oak tree with a small chain link fence but the installation team convinced us to custom cut the vinyl fence according to the profile of the tree. The result was a huge improvement over the original plan. They didn't add any cost, although the custom fence cut added more time. We would definitely recommend Peerless to anyone considering a fence installation.

+ -1 moreOverall my experience with Peerless Fence was very positive. They are obviously very busy but was able to come over to review the work and provide me a quote fairly quickly. They also emailed me all the paperwork I needed and the steps in order to get the work performed. They called JULIE to make sure everything was marked the day they intended to work. Although we had to change the original appointment due to an odd JULIE holiday schedule for the 4th of July, the re-schedule went fine and they came out and did a great job on all of the repairs. One section of the fence in fact had to be completely replaced and they did a great job of matching the new section to the original fence design. They finished the work promptly and I am very satisfied with the work they did, and I would definitely hire them again to perform future repairs.
Description of Work: I needed some major repairs to a long wooded fence that encloses my back yard and Peerless Fence performed the repairs.
