Peerless Fence

Overall, it went very well. Peerless fence (Scott) gave me an estimate for removing the existing rotting fence and putting in a new wooden fence. It took me a long time to make up my mind among the various fence companies, but Scott was rather patient with me (and gave me 5 different quotes for various options I wanted). Peerless fence came in a few days ago, and within a day, took away my old fence and put in a brand new fence. It looks great. The foreman was very friendly and explained to me everything he was doing. Peerless fence also took care of getting the permit and calling the utility companies (or Judy or Julie or one of those city services) to ensure where all of the utility lines are varied.

The whole thing was awesome. They were very quick to get back to me. The person who came to do the estimate was very responsive and gave me great information. The team worked quickly and cleaned up after themselves. Their price was very reasonable and the lowest of the three that I looked at.

Scott, the salesperson, called me the day after I contacted the company and arranged to meet me the same day. I had visited their web site and had a good idea of what we wanted--a decorative 48" high aluminum fence to replace the old wooden picket fence that had gone beyond rustic. A little over 3 weeks after ordering, the fence arrived, and installation was arranged around my schedule. A 4-man crew worked quickly and professionally and were careful not to disturb any shrubs. I had an issue with one small section of fence not being completely level because the ground wasn't level--not their fault at all. When I brought it up with them, they made the change immediately and were happy to level the area so that section would match the others. The new fence looks wonderful, and we would highly recommend Peerless.

The salesman came out quickly and he gave us a quote for our small job. The work was done on time and they cleaned up well.

I spent $2400 on that work. They were very thorough and responsive. I would use them in the future. They did not come out as I expected.

overall, good. I had to contact them a few times to fix things, which was frusterating at the time, but in the end, they got it right, and I recieved many compliments on both the quality, and look of the fence. Be very specific with them and stay with them. They will fix any problems.

Contacted company twice and was given the name of Tim Ford for a commericial quote for an office. Gave two messages plus and received no response. Clearly the company seems to have 'too much business". Decided to go with another company for our $20k plus job.

I called Peerless and was impressed with how quickly I got a returned call and how quickly someone came out to measure and provide a quote. I knew I wanted a 4 foot wood fence that was dog proof. I knew nothing of the types of wood options available to me. I was never asked any questions as to style etc. The various types of wood options were never explained to me. The gentleman provided a quote a couple of days later and was very responsive initially, calling multiple times at various numbers, when I said I had questions. He quoted the red cedar and explained nothing further on any type of wood. I went to the website and was suprised to see that Copperwood is used the most and has a 25 year warranty. I asked about the durability of the red cedar and was told 12 years. When i asked why the Copperwood, with the longer life and warranty, was not even offered as an option (was there something they didn't like about it?), he couldn't give me a reason. I then asked if there was a cost differential and was told it was virtually the same cost. About two weeks ago I asked for another written estimate using the copperwood and have not received anything. The last communication I have from the rep at Peerless was over a week ago when I asked again and was told I'd have it that afternoon. At this point the only thing I can think is that the red cedar was offered because it will need to be replaced sooner than the copperwood and therefore require additional services from Peerless sooner rather than later. Initially I was impressed with the responsiveness and had every inclination to use Peerless to put a fence in this fall. After asking these additional questions I have become extremely skeptical (especially due to the lack of responsiveness now that I've basically brought this concern to their attention and have not heard anything), I felt like they were trying to take advantage and have decided to put off the installation until the spring. I sent a note to the gentlemen I was working to let him know that since I've never recieved the new quote I'm putting the project on hold and have received no response. Peerless must be doing so well in this economy that they don't need the business. I'll look for a new fence company in the spring.

We have had this desire the past several years to install fencing on our wooded lot to add privacy and create a definition in our backyard. We also wanted to highlight our big leaved hosta garden by adding a backdrop that would add a focal point of interest to this area. Both were achieved by the Peerless Fencing representative. Installation went well as expected with the crew which were prompt in arriving on the day that the work was scheduled. The installation crew were respectful of the existing plantings. Minimal plant damage did occur as would be expected for such an installation but certainly no permanent damage to plantings that could not be rectified. We would certainly recommend this company for the attention to detail that was provided and the courtesy that was extended.

Overall it went well. Employees were polite and helpful, and fence looks great! The fencing materials took several weeks for Peerless to order from Trex, which caused the date of the installation to be later than estimated by the sales rep, but he did mention that this was a possibility. The time from order to installation was an inconvenience, as was the fact that the workers broke a private gas line on installation, The line was not marked because it was a private line and, after the fact, it was made clear by Peerless that this was my responsibility to fix. Previously we had only discussed electrical lines. Again, they were polite and professional throughout the experience, but shutting down all my gas and severing the line to my (previously heated) garage was a major inconvenience and an added expense for me. They did not seem to appreciate this fact. Perhaps some kind of token discount or at least a more sincere apology could have been offered instead of just a disclaimer of responsibility. Despite the inconveniences I've mentioned, I would use Peerless again because the finished product is outstanding. We love our new fence.

Peerless was able to put a 6 ft chain link fence around our yard the same day that we moved into our new house. I was so grateful because I have dogs and kids that require the safety provided by the fence. Craig came out about two weeks before our moving date to give us an estimate. I put down a 50% deposit that day and the materials were ordered. Peerless took care of getting the construction permit, calling JULIE and ordering the inspection. I did nothing but enjoy watching them put up a beautiful fence. I particularly enjoyed the Angie's List discount!

We got estimates from four fencing companies. They did an outstanding job. They did what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. They had 3-6 people working and did it in one workday.

Craig was our sales rep, and he visited us on 4/30 to give us an estimate. We called on 5/1 to say we wanted to go ahead and schedule the install. When I called the office I spoke with a nice woman and my understanding was that I would pay half up front, fax in some paperwork and would get a call from a scheduler in a few days. I heard nothing the next week until I called on 5/7. I explained that I expected a call to schedule and wanted to make sure the project was rolling along. The woman said I misunderstood and that she hadn't promised that the scheduler would call by Wednesday. She said she's speak with Craig and he'd call me on Monday. She called me back later that day and told me the project was scheduled for 5/17 anywhere from 9-5 or so. So I was happy that she didn't leave me hanging the whole weekend. The morning of 5/17, the crew was here a bit before 9 am, they were courteous, efficient, and professional. They used the plat of survey to measure the property line and brought it to my attention that the fence would not be where I expected it to be. They ran a line and got my approval before they began working. They cleaned up as well as they could considering the sloppy conditions of the weather. They gave me advice on handling a super muddy area right under the gate. I'm happy with the project. I only wish the process were a bit quicker from ordering to installing but it IS the time of year where this type of project is very popular. So I really have to take that into consideration. All in all, I'm happy with them and will use them when we re-fence other areas of our yard.

John K. (sales) came out to our house on time for our scheduled appointment to review Peerless' products. He was very courteous and professional, and he gave us some great design ideas for the new fence. Eddie (installation) came out on time the morning of the installation, and again, he was very professional. They were very thorough throughout the installation and made sure everything looked perfect. When they were done, they made sure to clean up all of their equipment, and the only way anyone could tell they were there was the new fence. It was a great experience and I would recommend using John and Eddie to anyone looking to install a new fence!

They were very professional, installation went as planned , they were very careful to not damage my lawn during installation and used plastic mats to hold all debris that they hauled away at the end of the day. Overall a good experience. Their prices were also very good compared to some of the other companies I got quotes from.

Was billed for 2.75 hrs of work. They were here UNDER 30 min! Not honest at all - obviously didn't realize that we were home at the time.

I was impressed with their customer service. They came out when they said they were going to come out. That was important to me. They presented a clear offer but we decided not to use anybody at this point of time. They treated us well. Their price was good.

Phil from Peerless fence was excellent. He gave us the estimate, and then followed up over the next few weeks, answering a lot of questions we had. We also considered Complete Fencing, who were good as well in the quote process. On the installation day, the team of three men arrived on time and were very professional throughout the install. They installed the fence and removed all of the debris (packing materials, etc), and ensured we were pleased with the fence before they left. I recommend this company.

They did a good job. They installed it in the timeframe they said and at the price they said. They were less expensive than some of the other people that I checked with. I was very pleased with the fence that they put in. They cleaned up and we had no damage as a result of their work.

Scott Maxwell came out on 7/24/09 to measure my back and side yards for a fence enclosure. He provided the estimate on the spot. I had already researched and decided the type of fence I wanted. The work was scheduled for 8/11/09 because I had to remove a tree from my side yard and wanted to complete that first. The crew came out on 8/11 and did an outstanding job. They were professional, courteous and were finished by 3:30 p.m. It was a great experience from start to finish! All my neighbors have given me positive comments regarding the fence.

Phil came out to measure and provide quote. Much attention to detail. Very professional. Chose Peerless because of Phil's attention to detail. Signed contract and gave deposit. Fence was ordered. Julie came out to mark utilities. Install was scheduled. Crew arrived and discovered there was more of a slope in back of property than accounted for and Phil had to come out and order different posts to account for sloping. This delayed the install by 2 weeks and we were gone and additional week. Peerless work crew were amazing; punctual, polite, experienced. They accidentally destroyed a small redbud tree I had growing and are going to replace it. Color of the fence came as a surprise. I ordered tan and it looks like cream to me. It looks nice, though. Even though the process took much longer than I anticipated, overall I highly recommend Peerless. Quality work

Excellent. The salesperson, Phil Pollard, was patient and knowledgeable. The crew, led by Eddie, were very impressive. The fence is high quality, with perfectly straight runs. The crew worked from 8:30am to 9:30pm to complete the fence in one day. They cleaned up after themselves pretty well.

I called the company and called the sales rep-can't remeber his name. He set an appointment to come out to give me an estimate. When he showed up he had already taken measurements of the yard and had estimate prepared for me. After showing me the various fencing options we agreed to have peerless insatall our fence. Due to the subdivision I live in we required an additional permit from the developer of the subdivision. Approx 1-2 weeks later I received a call from the scheduler to have my fence installed. The workers showed up at the designated time and were able to finish the work in one day. Due to some landscaping work on the side of my home the fence needed to be modified from the original plans. The workers had no problems with the changes made and cleaned up all the dirt from the post holes they had to dig.

We're perfectly satisfied with the way the work was done, the timeliness and courtesy of the contractors and the quality of workmanship.

The first day of installation I discovered Peerless ordered the wrong materials. I immediately called my salesman, John, to straighten it out but he didn't return my call. He left me a voice mail 5 days later saying "sorry about that". I got someone in the office to help me. I was told they could get replacement materials in about 1.5 weeks but it actually took 4 - 5 weeks. The installers had already removed part of our old fencing so we were inconvenienced with an unfenced yard for our dogs for the duration. I had given the brochures to my South side neighbor who hired Peerless to install approx $10K of fencing for her yard. I needed to complete the North side of my yard asap so I asked John if I could have the second day of my install delayed until they installed her fence so everything would match up nicely. He said some very rude things to me during this discussion but I eventually convinced him to do me a favor with the scheduling. I also asked that the crew bring back a post to neatly complete my North side neighbors' chain link (when they removed my fence the first day they took away all the spare parts). The crew came to restart my install. I told the foreman how I wanted everything to look and he said "yes OK" but 3/4 way through I saw they were doing things however they wanted and were cutting corners all over the place (ie: not staking the back fence line, setting the fence in a trench they dug instead of following the grade, not using any method to keep the gap under the fence consistent, digging into a burm we had just graded and moving fence line from where I specified rather than custom cut posts to deal with the grade, etc). The installers cut through my North neighbor's cable line using a power auger right next to the cable pedestal. There were flags for the electric and cable posted. They didn't bring the chain link post as I'd been assured by John and Don they would so I had to go to a hardware store to buy one. The same installers did my South neighbor's fence. They had the wrong materials again. While digging for posts between our houses, the installers hit an electrical main with the power auger. Peerless left her to deal with getting the electric company out to repair the damage. We spent 3 months with a chicken wire fence between our yards waiting on repairs. As of this writing, the area between our houses is an unsightly torn up muddy mess waiting for the electric company to landscape. I'm extremely embarrassed that she hired Peerless because of information I gave her. When the installers finished my fence, I supervised closely all day to get what I expected. No one from Peerless (including my salesman) called to ask how my install went or came by to check the quality of the work during or after the job. I had to call 3 months after I made the final payment because they never sent my warranty information or final receipt. Overall, I think the end result is okay but not worth the trouble I went through.
