Description of Work: ChemDry of Stratford cleaned three larger rooms, two hallways, and one small and one large flight of stairs. In one hallway and in our living room, the cleaning involved very labor-intensive removal of carpet tape and residue. About 80% of the job--including that gunk removal--was done very well and the carpet looked like new (though it's unfortunately acquired some new stains in the interim). | |The second hallway and larger stairway weren't done as well; a lot of spots remained and it was actually hard to tell that the carpet had been cleaned, though I'd seen the staffer working on it. We'd asked that those areas be added to the ticket when we scheduled the service, but the staffer who came hadn't gotten that message, and did them in kind of a rush at the end of a long job. We didn't want to keep him on the job even longer, which made us reluctant to point out the problems either at the time or the next day. This was also different carpet--a lighter-colored berber--which might have made the stains more difficult to remove. | |All in all, we were about 75-80% satisfied with the quality of the work; I actually think we deserve a partial refund for the last part of the job (the reason behind the B on the price). I would also have graded lower than a B on the overall quality, but the carpet tape removal added a lot of time and difficulty to the job. We'd use the company again, but we'd want to make sure it's clear in advance what areas were part of the job, and we'd insist that the stains in the last areas (for which we paid extra) be dealt with better than they were.

We called Tom from Chem-Dry and he was out the same day to take care of the stain. He was very professional, extremely knowledgable and very careful with our furniture. He even came back out the next day to take care of mark on the couch from the water wicking up the back. In the end the couch looks brand new again and we couldn't be happier with the service. We would recommend Chem-Dry to anyone and we will be using them again in the future for other needs. Thanks again!

+ -1 moreTo begin with, I had scheduled at a much earlier date and had to reschedule due to a family emergency. When I called to reschedule, there was absolutely no question and a polite inquiry was made as to the status of my previous emergency, enough to be courteous, not intrusive. The date was rescheduled promptly. The technician arrived on time, measured the area to be cleaned. We discussed my needs as far as pet stains and he promptly went to work. It took approximately 11/2 hours for 600 sq feet. The pet areas required additional treatment, but the extra time and money was well worth it as it really took care of the stain and the odor. I will definitely call Chem Dry again. My old carpet is free of stains, odor and will last me a while longer.

+ 0 moreTom was very courteous and professional. My appointment was for 10 am however he was running late. He did call to inform me of the time and he arrived around 10:30. Unfortunately on that day was a schedule for roof repairs and my driveway was blocked and he had to park on the street. He asked if I would like to reschedule and when I informed him that I had already taken the day off work, his response was we would work it out. Tom measured each area to be cleaned first and provided me with estimates for the rugs along with the chair and ottomon prior to doing the work. He gave me reccommendations on the carpet and also provided me with an estimate for cleaning my leather. The job was completed within 2 hours and although I went over the area length which was described on Angie's list, he gave me a discount on the additions for being a member. I would defintiely use Tom again. He was patient, kind and did an excellent job.
Description of Work: Tom cleaned my carpet along with three area rugs, chair and ottomon.

+ -1 moreI wasn’t very pleased. The worker who came out was perfectly courteous and polite, but the product itself was the issue. Our carpets weren’t very dirty, but we were putting our house on the marketing and I wanted to advertise our listing as having freshly cleaned carpeting. Unfortunately, the ChemDry product had a browning effect, and I could see odd tracks where the machine had been run. I contacted the office about this, and they were polite and responsive. They explained what we experienced wasn't a normal reaction. They then sent a second technician out to go over all areas a second time, but this visit was on our dime. Personally, I wouldn’t use the process again even though the company was professional.

+ -1 moreI called Tom on Monday and he came out on Wednesday, even though he was heavily booked for that week. We set the time for 10:00 a.m., and he was at my house at 10:00 a.m. He went around measuring the furniture, the carpet, etc., gave me an estimate before he began the work, explained how much everything would cost with the extras and without. We agreed on the price and he got busy, was done in two and half hours and my carpet and furniture was all clean!
Description of Work: Tom sanitized, cleaned and protected my carpet, a sectional couch, recliner and easy chairs. Had I just had the carpet cleaned, it would have been around $125 for a living room, dining room, stairs and a hallway. Not only did I find him extremely reasonably priced - and I've had many different carpet cleaners here in the past to compare his prices to, but he did an excellent job. And the best part was how quickly it dried. This is the only company I will call in the future. The last carpet cleaner I had showed up 2 1/2 hours late (although he did call twice), charged more than what I paid this time for the carpet and furniture for just cleaning the carpet alone, took 5 hours to complete the job that should have only taken an hour, and it took two days for the carpet to dry. And the results were the same. Tom is very professional, prompt and a really nice guy!
