Robert and his team were amazing to work with. From prompt replies to my emails to his patience answering all my questions, the professionalism exhibited by the Attic Air team impressed me from the start. When I contacted Robert for an estimate, he came out and outlined all the issues he found and itemized everything out for me. The estimate was very clear, well explained and the costs were very fair. We ended up using Robert to install soffit vents to channel the air properly up to the ridge vent. Our attic only had about an R-14 level of insulation so we had his crew add blown in insulation to bring it up to an R-49 level. And then the above range microwave was not connected to the roof and was exhausting into the attic so his crew was also scheduled to install a damper vent on the roof and properly connect the microwave exhaust to this damper vent. Once we scheduled the service, he put me on his calendar and his team was prompt to arrive when scheduled. They took the proper steps to prep for the work, laying down tarps anywhere they would be walking. The crew was professional and friendly, their vehicles properly marked, a strong sign of a professional, well established, respected company. Robert himself is very friendly, talking to me and making small talk all during the process and actually making sure I checked in on the progress of the work and getting my approval on the work before they closed up the work site and cleaned up. Once the work was finished, they cleaned everything up, with Robert himself even licking his finger to pick up a minuscule piece of insulation from my kitchen floor that fell off one of the rolled up tarps. I honestly haven't had a more smooth experience with a contractor than I had with Robert and his crew and if I had multiple houses, I would for sure be calling Robert to properly insulate all my attic spaces. The whole job itself took just under 2 hours from prep to clean up.
Description of Work: Installed soffit chutes to improve attic ventilation. Added blown in insulation to the attic to bring insulation up to an R-49 level, installed a damper vent in the roof to correct an disconnected kitchen exhaust vent to this vent.

Robert and his crew were on time and fantastic. They finished the job in about 5 hours. I was especially impressed with (what I call over and above service) on two issues. First, the entry point to the attic in our upstairs hall was cracked (drywall). When he took it out, it broke in half. Instead of saying, that is your issue because it was like that prior to us coming here, he ran to Home Depot and picked up a new sheet of drywall. Cut it to fit, made sure it was properly insulated on the back and put it back when they were finished. Second, there was a small trap door in my wife's closet that we had both missed on the original walk through/estimate. Instead of haggling over a price he said he would do it at no charge. It wasn't a huge space but that tells you what kind of guy Robert is and how his company does business. Folks like him are few and far between. I would recommend him to anyone. In fact, my neighbor is going to use him for some insulation issues he is having. Last of all, our problem areas feel great in this 20 degree weather that we are having right now! Did I mention the house was spotless when they left?
Description of Work: Installation of 3 new bathroom fans, re-routed ventilation of 2 of those upstairs bathroom fans and vented them through the roof instead of into the attic as the old ones had, secured attic framing joist that was improperly installed during remodel, added R60 insulation in basically every nook and cranny that they could reach in the attic and behind closets etc.

Attic Air is extremely courteous and professional. They provided quality repairs at an affordable price. They replaced my attic fan, installed additional insulation to my attic and vented both of the bathroom fans from the attic to the outside. They did an excellent job and left my home spotless. I have already recommended them to others and will call them in the future if I am in need of their services again. A great company to work with.

Robert was very responsive. He picked up the phone each time I called (even when he was on a job). He answered questions clearly and gave his recommendation. He followed his quote and broke down the pricing. He and his crew showed up on time with all the materials and did the whole job in 2-3 hours. They cleaned up after themselves and he inspected it. I didn't even mind a little extra project he offered to remove some old insulation that was blocking the air flow from the soffits, even though it wasn't originally planned. It was worth the extra money and wasn't really known before the job started. He even mentioned that in order to keep on schedule they keep spares of everything in their truck so if something breaks they can carry on with the work. He has over 30 years experience in attic ventilation and insulation and it shows. He is the owner operator and comes and works right with his crew. I have talked to other siding and roofing companies and they didn't want to do this work. But this type of work is essential so I wont get ice dams this winter on my 45 year old house. These guys know what they're doing and they do it every day. I recommend them to others who have attic insulation and venting problems.

Outstanding from start to finish. Robert the owner is an excellent contractor. On time as scheduled, not a minute late from scheduled start time! All workmen professional, friendly, worked quickly and efficiently and answered any questions I may have had. Completed all work in a very timely fashion and made sure I was satisfied with everything before leaving. Cleaned up after themselves so well you'd never know they were here! They did both inside and outside work for us, bringing to our attention a potential problem that was never addressed before, when the home was originally built. No pressure to add anything extra, only suggestions that I am glad I took him up on. Very glad. The entire experience was a pleasure from start to finish. I highly recommend you give Attic Air your business, check them out!

It went smoothly from estimate to completion. Robert's communication was perfect. He and his wife followed-up almost immediately. He was prompt, courteous, and knew his trade. I grilled him about the project, equipment, his opinions, etc. He had a clear rationale for everything that was backed up by my own knowledge and research. He did not try to oversell me. When I asked to bump up the quote to get me to R60, his increase was linear and appropriate. No gimmicks, no games, no subs. Robert comes out with his guys and his equipment. I had other bids that were exceedingly higher and one that was eye popping--from another top rated outfit on Angie's List. I'm glad I found Robert. The money I saved can be put to another project that I need to get after and some to my daughter's college fund. Thank you Robert. I'm already sending you a friend's job.

They arrived on time on June 9 and quickly confirmed that the motor was burnt out on our old attic fan. The team lead provided a couple of options, and I decided to replace the old fan because of a better guarantee. They installed the new fan, explained how the thermostat was set, and did a great job of cleaning up. Unfortunately we had to have them come back on June 11 because there was a leak in the roof at the fan. They were extremely responsive. They took their time to find the leak and to determine that there was only one place that caused the problem. They repaired the leak and tested to insure it had been fixed. Again they did a great job cleaning up. Although we had the problem with the leak, I would use Attic Air again and recommend them.

When purchasing our house four years earlier, we were told that the garage was not insulated. Due to the severe winter of 2013/2014 we decided that we would be interested in insulating the garage. We looked into the reviews on Angie's List and noted that Attic Air had all "A" reviews and all their customer's gave quite glowing reviews of the company and the owner, Robert Carroll. On 5/27/2014, we contacted Attic Air and Mr. Carroll promptly responded the very next day to provide us with an estimate. Mr. Carroll quickly determined that our garage already had walls that were insulated and when I told him that I was sure that the attic over the garage wasn't insulated he advised that to insulate the attic of a garage would be a waste of our money and that the cost involved would never be recovered in any noticeable savings on heating bills. We apologized to Mr. Carroll for wasting his time and appreciated his honesty in explaining the circumstances of insulating the attic of the garage. In spite of wasting Mr. Carroll's time and gas, his courteous and professional demeanor never changed. It should be noted to anyone reading this review that Mr. Carroll could have easily sold us unnecessary insulation, however, he quite candidly sought to save us money. In reading many of the Angie's List reviews of Attic Air, many of the customers highlighted Mr. Carroll's honesty. This is, but another example of his total honesty. I requested a business card from Mr. Carroll for any future business and would highly recommend this company to anyone reading this review. I only wish all companies were as professional and honest as Attic Air. It was truly a pleasure dealing with the owner, Mr. Robert Carroll.
Description of Work: On 5/28/2014 Mr. Robert Carroll, owner of Attic Air, promptly responded and determined that our garage walls had already been insulated at the time of construction. He examined the attic area of the garage and even though it did not have any insulation, he advised that we would never recover the cost of insulating the attic in a garage and said it would be a waste of our money for him to do it. Mr. Carroll's candid honesty was almost shocking in this day and age. We apologized for, in essence, wasting his time, however, Mr. Carroll quite admirably stated that he fully understood our misunderstanding.

Everything went very well, I called on a Thursday, spoke with the owner of the company (who was very friendly), and scheduled the installation for Saturday (2 days later). He said the crew would be at my house between 9 and 9:30, and they were here right at 9. The installation took about 35 minutes. The crew was very friendly and explained how it all works. They were neat, efficient, and professional. I would certainly consider them for any future projects that they could assist with.

These guys were so great to work with! In addition to their being on Angie's List, one of our neighbors has used them and also had an excellent experience with them. When they first came over to look at everything, they saw that there was some mold, so they recommended that it be taken care of first (which we did, via another company). Then when we called to schedule the work, the owner was very responsive and helpful and they even came early in the am, which was perfect for our schedules. I offered to pay them right away as I was unsure if I'd be home when they were done, but the guy in charge said "Oh, no, we don't accept any payment until the job is completely done." They did a great job from start to finish and took pains to protect our floors. I believe the cost was very reasonable for the work done. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs this type of work. The owner was careful to include the Angie's list discount in the final price, which I had completely forgotten about. It is a pleasure to work with people of such a strong work ethic who are also so honest. Great job, Attic Air!
Description of Work: They insulated our family room ceiling and brought the attic to a recommended R-49 rating from an existing R11. Robert Carroll came to advise us on how to resolve a mold situation that had developed in our attic. After a thorough inspection of the attic he diagnosed the problem as caused by bathroom venting that exhausted through the soffits and subsequently didn?t discharge moisture as it should. He gave us an estimate for proper installation of venting through the roof as well as an estimate for replacement of the bathroom exhaust fans with more efficient and quieter fans. We inquired if the insulation in our attic was sufficient and if the venting was adequate. He gave us an estimate for installing an attic exhaust fan and for increasing the insulation to either R49 or for a little more cost increasing it to R60. He also gave us a good reference to have the mold remediated. We had Robert replace the bathroom exhaust fans and vent them through the roof and to install the attic exhaust fan. Then, after the mold was remediated he and his employees came back and added the attic insulation. We were very pleased with the work Robert and his employees did and the how careful and conscientious they were.

Robert arrived early per the scheduled 9:00 am scheduled work. They installed drop cloths covering all area's thery needed to walk on and played a drop cloth over our clothes in the master closet where the attic access was located. Lastly they placed a drop cloth over the window woodwork where they placed their insulation blower hose. All work was completed in a timely manner and the crew notified me at 4 different points to review the work, so when bath fans were vented, attic fan installed, roof venting and when all insulation wasw competed being blown in I went up to review... These guys are very effiicient, orderly, customer focused and true to their word about what work they contracked. Very good experience and 2 neighbors who were home at the time I was getting my home issulated asked for Roberts card. THIS WORK WAS CHEAPER THAN WHAT THE UTILITY COMPANY BID USING CHEAP PAPER INSULATION! Great Job Robert!!!

My house's attic was not vented properly and had the original insulation, which was more of a "newspaper-like" insulation. (Built in 1970.) Attic Air has done other work for me in the past (new attic fan, properly venting the two bathroom fans). To properly vent the attic, they popped open the outdoor soffit panels (it's a ranch house, so this was easy) and cut openings in the solid wood that was covering the panels. Then inside the attic, they installed vent chutes at the open soffit vents to draw the air further into the attic. Then they blew in pro-pink blown insulation. This brought the attic from "R-15" to "R-49". (Look up "insulation R ratings" to get an idea of how your home s/b insulated for your zone.) They let me go into the attic afterward to take a look at the work. (I had been up there before a few times so I knew how bad the original insulation was.) As always, I got a hold of Robert Carroll easily when I called. They actually did an estimate for this job when they were on the premises a few months back to vent the bathroom fans. I called a few months later to schedule it. And, as always, his team was on time (3 employees). Robert arrived minutes after they did. They had plenty of drop cloths with them. They cleaned up completely before they left. The estimate was a total of $2,075 which included $425 for the soffit venting and $1,650 for the insulation.

I chose Attic Air based on Angie's List reviews. Robert, the owner, came out for an estimate. He checked both attic spaces and recommended a bath fan in master bath as it had none. He emailed a proposal and was accepted. I set up an appointment for the following week. Robert and his crew of 3 came on time and worked straight through for two and a half hours. They put tarps down to protect our floors and were great about cleaning up! Despite it being a very cold day, Robert went outside to do the soffit work himself while his crew handled blowing in the insulation. I was impressed with their work ethic! (And I got 5% off for being an Angie's List member!)
Description of Work: Insulated 2 large attic crawlspaces with R-30 Pro-Pink blown insulation over existing original insulation to bring it up to R-49, installed vent chutes at open soffit vents, dam around and batt insulated attic hatches; Supplied and installed bath fan with wall switch and exhausted fan out of attic to dampered roof cap; removed and replaced attic fan and electric to fan and replaced it with 144 sq. in. vent; Popped open 14 perforated soffit panels and cut openings in wood soffits to clear insulation blocking air flow and reinstalled removed panels.

Description of Work: Robert gave me a quote for insulation 2 years ago and at that time we were not sure we were going to stay in our home. Today we know we are here for the obvious reasons. I called Robert and he remembered me and what was so unbelievable is that he matched his previous price. He will also be additing an attic fan with the insulation. We had some ice damming on the roof so we are in the middle of getting it fixed. Once done Robert will come out to do the fan and insulation. I would like to end on this note, Robert is NOT an up-seller he provides honest information and does not try and force you into anything. I called Attic Air on Jan 8 to give me an estimate to insulate my attic after having broken water pipes in my interior bathroom. With the holes in the bathroom wall, I could feel cold air rushing in and also noticed there was no insulation around any of the pipes that were just inches from the concrete foundation. Robert came out that afternoon, looked at my attic, felt the cold air coming in from the holes the plumber had cut and made his recommendations. He told me my attic had insulation, just not enough (R-27). His estimate included bringing the attic to R-49. He was very professional and knowledgeable. I accepted his bid on Jan 10 and on Jan 14 he was able to complete the work. His team was quick and efficient and cleaned up after themselves. He showed me the insulation he also put around the repaired water pipes and I immediately noticed no more blowing cold air in my bathroom. The insulation has truly made a

They were ready to get to work at the time they said, it only took a couple of days to get them to perform the actual work (after a next-day estimate), and the crew was very professional. They laid out tarps, wore booties and cleaned up everything before they finished. UPDATE: I've got to tell you, I haven't been so glad to have chosen a contractor as I am with Attic Air.
