After reviewing different quotes and estimates from various service providers, we chose to go with Attic Air because they provided a "one-stop shop" for all of the work that we needed done in our attic, covering both the insulation work and the ventilation and electrical work. Robert and his team arrived on schedule and were able to complete all of the work in half a day. This included the installation of a new bathroom fan in our master bathroom - which he provided at a reduced price, venting the new fan and an existing fan from the hall bathroom through the roof, installing a new attic fan (as we were having temperature control problems in the upper level of our house), then installing new attic insulation that would exceed the minimum code requirements as we had requested. We were very pleased that this work was done so quickly. Robert and his team worked creatively to get the work done with minimum disruption inside the house, and were very careful to clean up any debris, dust or insulation prior to their departure. We would recommend them highly for any attic or insulation needs.

overall, they did a good professional and clean job. they seem knowledgeable.
Description of Work: I was told during our home inspection that our bathroom vents did not vent outside the house properly. I had Attic Air come by for a look. They looked in attic and saw mold had formed and referred me to mold specialist. The suggested I can change the soffit vents to bigger vents and install better bathroom fans with a proper exhaust. Also, an attic fan with temp and humidity sensor was installed. During the install, I thought about other potential problems. I asked them to look at the kitchen hood, They found that the kitchen hood did not vent properly either. they were able to fix that that same day.

Last winter, it seemed that mice decided to nest in one of our bathroom fans. Evidence was bits of crushed leaves and (yes!) mouse poop sometimes making its way through the vented fan and onto the bathroom floor. One visit to the attic at the time was inconclusive -- the space above the fan was tight and hard to see. It did appear that the fan wasn't vented properly -- thus, the mice. I called Attic Air and left a message. Robert Carroll returned my call within an hour. He sent his team out to check the fans on a Friday. They decided to check the fan ventilation from the roof. (Since I had the cleaning ladies at the house at the time, they decided to not go into the attic. Whoever designed houses with attic access inside closets should take another class in architecture. It's a pain. How about putting the attic access in a hallway or laundry room?) I digress. I asked the guys to book the job for the following Friday at 9 am. They arrived that day right on time. Once they were in the attic, they realized the former owner of my home installed kitchen fans in the bathrooms. (Kitchen fans are fine to install in a bathroom.) Since kitchen fans are more powerful than bathroom fans, however, they need to be vented with a larger piece of venting. The former owner put the venting on the fans that belongs with bathroom fans. Attic Air's team kept the fans in place -- they're good fans. They changed out the caps that show outside on the roof and re-did the venting from the fans to the caps. These guys also installed my attic fan two years ago. (Note to you all: If you're having your attic fan looked at or replaced, while they're in the attic, have them check the bathroom fans and how they're vented! Spend the money to get them done correctly!) This team always cleans up after themselves! I had put down two drop cloths of my own. When they were done, they gathered up both drop cloths, took them outside and shook them out, then folded them again and gave them to me. They also un-did the fan cap in the "mouse" bathroom to shake out the mouse nestings and mouse doody that was on it, cleaned it off, and then put it back on. This is a great team to do business with -- I have them on my list to create vents in my attic (that, oddly, the builder didn't do) and to update the insulation.
Description of Work: Installed 2 large "caps" for each of 2 bathroom fans (that had not been installed properly by a former owner) and re-did the venting from each fan through the attic to the outside caps.

This review is long overdue. Robert is a great guy. Happy he did the work as requested. Took his request to install an attic fan which makes a huge difference in the temperature of the second floor with a 1400 square foot attic. His crew very efficient, courteous and professional. Bathroom fan works like a charm with no leaks of the roof. Good experience overall, thanks Robert!

The service provided was great. Rob came to our house 4 days before the service, inspected the roof, as well as other soffit vent exhausts and determined the location of the fan in the attic and the cfm based on square footage. Rob is very professional and answered all my questions. If I need any services for my attic, Rob will be the go to guy and i highly recommend him. His team had 3 guys, who came in to complete the installation, were great at their job. The installation was complete within 40 minutes and was perfect. There are no problems what so ever.

These guys were great. Took them a little over two hours to expand all the vents in my soffit (two story house) and install a pretty nice attic fan to increase ventilation and preventing any mold/condensation issues in the attic. Friendly, punctual, extremely clean, and for the type of labor, I think a fair value. I felt confident these guys were experts in what I needed. I wasn't upsold or pressured.

We had raccoon in our attic recently and I need help to determine if the attic needs to be cleaned up or even restored .I found Attic Air on angies' list and called Robert, he was very nice and offered a free estimate. He came today with his crew after a day job. Alex and Robert went up to the attic, later they told me that the attic was fine with no smell or dropping etc. I really appreciated Robert's honest and expertise. Although I didn't use their service today, will definitely recommend them to any friends in the future.

Robert and his team were fantastic. We wanted to install a new vent fan to hide a spot where the condensation had bubbled the paint in the master bathroom and also to lower the temperature on our second level by installing an attic fan. I got a quote over the phone and Robert worked around my schedule to take a look at the house. His team arrived early and were very courteous. They had some concerns about the vent in the master bathroom because it was a raised cieling and there was a beam where we wanted to place the vent. They also pointed out that our second floor bathroom vent just blew into the attic. They were ready to do the work that day if we wanted and we had them start right away. They were very efficient and neat. They were able to install the bathroom vent where we wanted and helped direct the vent upstairs to go outside. The attic fan that they used was super quiet. They stuck to the quoted price and the additional work we had them do was reasonably priced. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Very happy with Attic Air's work. When we found mold in our attic, we asked our mold remediators and environmental consultant whom they recommended to correct the ventilation and they both said Attic Air. Robert Carroll, the owner, came with his team to give us an estimate. We found him and his team to be very nice, personable, caring, knowledgeable, expert and honest. Everything you would want when you are entrusting the care of your home.

Great! Robert and his crew were first class. They fixed the insulation in one crawl space and provided new insulation in another. They also built-out a new interior attic wall with insulation to protect my bathroom pipes from freezing. They completed the work quickly and with very high quality. No mess was left after the job was done. What I like most about this company is that they are both honest and fair - they don't try to sell work that's not required and they charge a fair price. Would definitely recommend.

The guys came out for a quote then started work right there on the spot. The guys were polite and professional. Fixed a vent problem that the last home owners claimed to had fixed themselves. Go figure. Found my attic had no intake air through the roof's sofits. They were all blocked by plywood. Guys cut through it all around the house. They replaced the broken motor in the attic fan. The bathroom vent fan was installed very cleanly. All in all very happy with the service rendered.

Arrived around noon to provide the estimate. Went up in attic to inspect and also quoted insulation which I didn't do at this time. I wanted to see the impact of just correcting the ventilation issues first. I had an attic fan in my previous house so I knew I wanted it again. The bathrrom fans were over 20 years old and loud when running. After he supplied the quote, I think I surprised him when I said let's do it. He made a couple of calls and 3 hours later, his crew was at my house and by 6:00 PM, I had an attic fan, 2 quiet bath fans, and soffits that actually work! We haven't had the warmest of summers yet which is why I have delayed in this review, but there were a couple of days in the upper 80s already and the different between upstairs and downstairs is now just 1 degree hotter. Almost can't feel the different. Before the attic fan, the baster bedroom was typically 2-3 degrees warmer. At first I was concerned with the small fan design compared to my last one, but I LOVE that I have to strain to hear the fan running. My last one, you knew when it was one. He also suggested a larger bath fan than the one we originally picked out. He was right, the room is steam free after my kids take their super long showers. Very clean, guys were professional and picked up after themselves.

Robert quickly called me back after leaving a message. He told me the standard price for installing fan, which was nice to know without having to set an appointment. I did have hime come out anyway to get pricing on other services. Besides the fan he recommended additional vents for better air flow. They showed up on time and did a great job. Although it has not been very hot lately the times I have used the fan it has worked great at cooling the house down. If you like to limit the use of your air conditioner, this is the way to go.

From the initial phone call through the finished job, everyone was very professional. The installers were careful when they came into the house. They covered their shoes and placed a drop cloth beneath the scuttle hole. They verified the work to be done and the cost quoted over the phone before work began. They cleaned everything up. I noticed a squeaking sound coming from the fan that evening while I was outside on my patio. I called them and they came back right away and fixed it. I have had no other problems. The fan has made a huge difference in the temperature on the second floor of our home.

Robert was very responsive. Called back right away and made an appointment to come out. He arrived on time. I showed him the bedroom that was of concern to me. My son's bedroom has always been colder than the rest of the house, and I've never been able to figure out why. Robert did explore the room, our attic above the room, and then he had a worker explore the attic above our garage that backs up to the bedroom. In the end they concluded I did not have enough insulation above the bedroom and he provided a quote and recommended I re-insulate the attic. This did not seem all that logically to me as the other rooms that the attic covered were fine. Robert did say it could be a combination of issues. The cost to perform all was approx $2500 (I no longer have the quote so cannot remember exact figures). Robert had injured his shoulder, so he had another worker with him who actually got into the attics. I think if perhaps Robert was able to inspect the attics himself, he may have discovered the real root of the problem, which we finally discovered was the lack of insulation board in the garage attic and cold air was entering under my son's room. I did not choose Attic Air to do the job, but per prior reviews I'm sure that they would have done a very good job with any work awarded them.

I called and the owner answered right away. He came out to our house the next day and replaced our roof attic fan in a short period of time with a new fan. He layed down a sheet and even took off his shoes since the entrance to the fan was in a carpeted hallway. He did not leave a mess, and he was extremely conscientious of our home. He replaced our old fan with a good, quality fan. He said the old fan was not installed correctly which made sense since it was always giving us problems and eventually burned out. We are very happy with the new fan. I do not know anything about attic fans and after doing the research, I still did not know which one to buy. The owner of Attic Fan relieved me of making that decision. I trusted his judgement on the fans he carries since he has received good marks from other home owners. I didn't even know who to call to replace an attic fan until I researched it on Angie's List.

I called Robert for a quote for an Attic fan, and he was very knowledgeable, personable and professional. Since I will be installing a new roof on the house I did not need him to install the fan, and he pointed me to a competitor so that I could just get the fan (he made a great recommendation, based upon the fans he uses). It's great when someone doesn't push their service regardless of your needs, and provides great advise. That's why Robert stands out in my mind, and he is someone I want to do business with in the future.
