Description of Work: Paving repairs were delayed continually over 1 1/2 years. Promises made by salesman were not kept in timely fashion.

Description of Work: It took a little longer for Kaplan to schedule the work than I expected but once they showed up, they worked quickly and did a very good job.

Description of Work: resealed a badly worn driveway. They gave us their professional opinion that we should save our money and replace the driveway, but as that is a couple years away, we decided to seal it and try to extend the life a year or two. Their price was the lowest bid we received, but we went with them because they followed through with what they said they would do. Other contractors either quoted prices four times as much, or said they would call to be here for the quote when we were home and then just did a driveby. We were very happy with the communication and work done by PLS.

Description of Work: Kaplan Seal Coated a Large Driveway for us. Kaplan is consistently the lowest price. For our driveway, the quotes range from $175 being the lowest to nearly $500. I am often times weary of the lowest price, but frankly, it's seal coat. As long as it holds up for a year, it's done its job. I had Kaplan do our driveway 3 years ago as well and although 3 years was too long to go, it was definitely in good shape after 2 years. Any professional seal coater will tell you that your're supposed to do it annually anyway. They called me the day before our original appointment and postponed it because of impending rain, which I thought was pretty cool. In driving the neighborhood the following day (of the original appointment), I noticed that a lot of other driveways, including our neighbors, had been seal coated that morning and rained on. I dig that Kaplan would rather do a good job and postpone than just get the job done and expose fresh product to the elements. In closing, the only variable I see in Seal Coating outside of the workmanship and customer service is the quality of product being used. It's really impossible to know what any of these folks really use as they're delivering it to the home in bulk trucks. You can't read a bucket for example and know you're getting a particular manufacture or mix, so this is really a "trust" relationship. I have no idea what product they use, but I know it held up last time for significantly longer than reasonable, so that's all I can really go by and it makes me comfortable in using Kaplan !

Description of Work: I called for a quote after recieving a post card in the mail with a price on it for seal coating my driveway. I told the person who answers the phone that I had many other quotes much cheaper. I communicated to him I would be willing to use his service at a more resonable price. Because I had received many other advertisements much cheaper. When I use to be in sales, I was grateful when a potential new customer said he would give me the business for the same price that a competitor would charge. I got many new customers by meeting my competitors prices. If the customer did not offer the option to me, I never even had the opportunity to get the new customer. Not the owner of this company. He does not even like to dicuss pricing. Maybe because he is the highest price company and can not compete? Also he rudely hung up the phone on me.
