Golden Fence

Got 3 other estimates and they beat all of them. Fence looks great and quality is as well. Took a couple weeks to get going but after that they flew trough the installation.

It rained a lot and the job was delayed a week or so but understandable. If I can be frank with the readers of my review, communication by Eric is in need of improving and that is my only negative experience. Our neighbors can't stop commenting on its beauty and we couldn't be happier with the results. In total it took 2 1/2 days but it was worth it.

Would highly recommend - will work with again.

We had a great experience with Golden Fence. They made everything very easy on us. Eric came out and gave us an estimate the same week we called. We then communicated through email. (I hate the phone!) He worked with me on the price and the next week his guys were out to fix our fence. They were thorough, polite, and very professional. They were done in one day and everything is solid and in great shape. They saw us working on our new firepit and even offered to leave the old posts by our pit to use as firewood. Our new double gate is exactly what we needed. If we have issues with other parts of our fence in the future I will definitely be calling them again!

Provider was very professional when he arrived at our home to review and determine estimate. Returned estimate within 24 hours. We obtained other estimates from Angie's list recommendations, but we were most impressed with Golden Fence materials and methods for fence installation. Eric's crew went immediately to work, obtaining the permit and other required preliminaries. They completed the job within our requested time frame, even though there was one day rain delay. The fence is beautiful, straight and posts secure. Would certainly recommend Golden Fence! Did I mention their price was also the best?

No integrity! I contacted golden fence 3-30-14 for a estimate, I agreed to the quoted price, pulled the permit (at the owners request), and waited.... Eric Aguilar (the owner of golden fence) made me wait 4 weeks blaming the weather. I waited because it was raining, Eric called me 5-4-14 to remove my current fence (discount given for prior removal), instructing me to set up appointment for village inspection for 5-7-14. I did as instructed, REMOVING MY FENCE, 5-6-14 Eric told me several times though out the day his employees were coming. They came about 5:30 pm to tell me they did not have what was needed to complete the job, and they would be back the following morning early to dig holes. The next morning I get a phone call telling me the tool they need is in another state, with a different crew, and install cannot be STARTED till 5-13-14. I tried to be flexible with Eric, I offered that he completes the majority of the job and I could wait till the 13th to complete last segment. The tool needed was to core through concrete for only 3 posts! Currently I am searching for another contractor to finish the job. DO NOT BE SUCKERED INTO USING GOLDEN FENCE! Nothing but excuse after excuse. 5/19/14. Eric, thank you for finding the time to respond. It's not like me to leave such a negative review, but I still feel it was warranted. As a contractor myself, I know about working under weather constraints and construction. I waited roughly a month because of the weather understanding. I would have been accepting of waiting longer until you instructed me to remove my fence. I was left in a position that I could not wait for another company to do the work, as they were a week backlogged themselves. I purchased the tool that was "with another crew" for $30 to cut the concrete and do the fence myself. I would never have mislead any of my clients the way I was. I read some other reviews about golden fence and this seems to be a concern with others. I wish your company the best.

It was perfect - perfect - perfect.

Everything went really good. They were very good to work with. Very pleasant helpful & responsive.

Will be using Golden Fence in the spring.

We just moved in last April and wanted to install a fence as soon as we could as we have a rather rambunctious 2 yr old. It all went great. They removed 4 large shrubs, some so big they looked like trees. They removed the railroad ties and soil and disposed of it. Then we found behind all that crap that the retaining wall was just crumbling so we had them remove all the old and rebuild the wall before we installed the fence. It wasn't in the original estimate as we didn't know how bad it would be with all the shrubs in the way. The extra cost was very reasonable in my opinion for all the work they did. It turned out just beautiful. They installed the fence the following week. It took them 1.5 days and they even came out on Saturday to finish it! That was a surprise to us. I assumed they didn't work weekends. I was wrong. All of the guys who worked here were very nice and professional. Checking in with me throughout they day if they had a question. It's such a gorgeous fence. I didn't even get any other estimates, just reading the reviews on here, I trusted them and was not disappointed at all. Plus, Eric always called right back. Never more than 2 minutes passed if I had to leave a message. We're very very happy.

Eric came and gave me the quote. He said that he would beat anyone’s price. He was significantly cheaper than the other quotes I got. Everything was fine and they always returned my calls. They got the fence in pretty quickly, and it looks great. We have a picky homeowner's association and they handled and worked out any issues to follow the guidelines.

They were great. Honest, hard working, and fair priced.

Overall it went well. I had Eric senior come to my home about 1 month ago to give me a quote and he was on time and very professional. He measured the yard and he answered some of my questions around the fence materials as well as some of the special conditions I had to plan for because my back lot is next to a drainage path way which needed to be away from the fence by 10 ft. based on village requirements. Eric told me all the steps that I would need to go through in order for his team to start building. Once I got my platt survey from my the village office, he gave me a quote for my property. After the initial visit I had to send the quote and the platt survey to my Home Association so they can approve my fence on my lot. This was very quick once I sent them all the documents. Then I had to work with the Village Engineer to get the right measurements based on the rules for building a fence. I had to make a few calls to the Village to understand those rules but once I got them I sent them over to Eric Jr. and he updated my quote for me. My main communication with Golden Fences was through email and through texts. Eric Jr. was very responsive and ready to help, which I appreciated. After about 1 week of getting the permit I got them scheduled for two days to complete the fence. They told me they could do it in one day but I felt comfortable doing it in two days because I wanted to make sure the cement and the poles were solid before they began the project. We originally planned to have them start on a Thursday and finish on a Friday but they had an unforeseen accident with their truck and we had to reschedule for Monday. There was a bit of confusion between their team here in Kenosha and the Office but they quickly figured things out so they could continue the work. The team took two full days to complete the project. On the second day I noticed that the bottom of the fence was too high off the ground so I asked them to fix it and they did. The team that came out were experienced and professional. They were masters in the craft of building fences. Some things that I really enjoyed about this fence: 1. Everything was custom built, no pre-made fence sections were used, they put every fence plank by hand. 2. They didn't leave any dirt from their digging, they cleaned up after themselves. 3. They used (3) 2x4 support beams for the fence which most fence builders only use 2 4. They used a very good cedar wood that looked very well with the rest of my property 5. They put two fence gates, one 4 ft walk way and the other was 6ft. 6. They never needed to use the bathroom in my house they were all prepared 7. Once they started they didn't stop until they were completed - very hard workers 8. They guarantee their workmanship because of the quality of materials they used I am very happy with my new fence.

After getting multiple estimates, Golden Fence was approximately 35% cheaper than the competition. My natural reaction was to be concerned of the quality of materials/workmanship, but that was quickly put at-ease. The posts were anchored in concrete according to village spec (42" which is a lot), and the fence itself was Western Red Cedar, same thing the other contractors quoted me for. Eric handled getting the permit setup as well as calling JULIE, and it was easy to coordinate an install date. The workers were on-time and consulted me prior to making a few adjustments which I agreed to, and cleaned everything up before they left. Not sure what the whiner who reviewed 9/7/13 is complaining about. Ya there was some clay and small debris around the posts but they took away all the major stuff. God forbid you have to put a little work in on your own yard after a project like this. The fence looks great, is solid, and I felt the cost was fair. Would definitely recommend in the future.

On April 26, 2013, Eric, son of owner of Golden Fence, came to my house to give me a quote on a new cedar picket fence. I told him I would be making a decision soon. After getting another quote, we decided to go with Eric and Golden Fence because the price was fair and he said he could get the fence in a week or so. Signed a contract May 7 and had installation June 3--not exactly a week. The work men were polite but not very good at cleanup. They had to dig new post holes and left a lot of the clay dirt next to the new posts (they were supposed to pick up the clay dirt and haul away). When my husband pointed it out to them, they made a feeble attempt to do so. After the men left, my husband called Eric and told him about the cleanup, he said he would call back in 5 minutes--we never heard from him again. Bottom line--the fence looks good, but service leaves a lot to be desired. One other thing, we had 2 gates installed, one is fine, but the latch on the other one doesn't work very well. I'm going to fix that myself!

Never heard from Golden Fence. No work performed or follow up. Decided to go with another service provider.

I am absolutely satisfied with Eric's work, both with quality of fencing material and professionalism of installation. The work was done on time and to spec. Price was just as quoted, no finagling about "extra work" or "hard to access patio". Although I didn't check around to compare prices, the quality of the fence and installation seems right in line with price. I am more than happy with Golden Fence and would use them again.

It was about as perfect as it could be. He had been highly recommended by two other families we know. Eric responded to our initial call immediately and made an appointment to come and give an estimate very quickly. He arrived on time and was courteous and knowledgeable. He recommended a flat top fence so that our dogs' collars would not get caught, and so that it would be safer for the kids. We got estimates from three firms and chose to use Golden Fence based on competitive pricing, quality of the materials, and responsiveness. We wanted the fence to be installed the day that we moved in because our large dogs need to be safely contained in the back yard. We had a very bad moving day in all respects, except for Golden Fence. They came on time and the workers were courteous and knew what they were doing. They worked very hard for almost the entire day but were not able to finish before dark. They came back the next morning for a few more hours and the end result is a beautiful, sturdy fence. We highly recommend them.

The installation went fantastic. The first day they dug all the holes 3 feet deep and set the steel posts in cement and connected the cedar 2X4s to the steel posts. On the second day they installed the dog ears and the gates. All the gates have locking hardware which was a nice surprise. The fence looks great and it will last for many years.

Eric cam out and provided an estimate for the work. Within two weeks, his team arrived and did the work as promised. Eric originally said the work would be done on a Saturday afternoon or on Sunday morning. His team called on Sunday morning and said they would not be able to do the installation until Monday morning. They showed up Monday and knocked the work out in about 4 hours time. Fence looks great.

Having my new fence installed by Golden Fence was a great experience. Eric was very personable and responsive: he was quick to pick up the phone when I called or was prompt at returning my messages. His guys did a great job on the fence and even made some last-minute adjustments I asked for. They even replaced a board that I was not happy with after the fence was installed. I have recommended Golden Fence to my neighbors (we all share a common fence).

He was on time, professional and knowledgeable. His estimate was fair in price, but I didn't use him because we have an extra large gate which currently sags because of the weight. His solution was to add bigger posts, which we didn't feel would be a permanent fix. His guarantee on the gate was only for 30 days because he said if we left the latch unhooked, he wasn't resposible for wind damage.

Eric came out right away after I called to get a quote. He was very nice and personable. I had three quotes given to me and they were all around the same price. Once I told Eric I wanted him to do the job, he sent his crew out that weekend. The morning the crew was suppose to be here, they were very late (estimated arrival at 8am, actual arrival 11:30am). I did not receive a call or notification that they would be late or had problems of any kind. They worked that afternoon until dark and came back the following day to work all day. I believe they had to come one last day to finish everything. The day they finished, they waited for me to come home from work so I could see the work they had completed. It looked great and they did a very nice job cleaning up after themselves. Now that it is getting warm outside, I can enjoy my backyard with my dogs off leash, which is the main reason we wanted the enclosed fence.

From estimate to finished work they did a great job all the way.

They were wonderful and did a great job. They were prompt and very professional. They did what they said they were going to do for the price they said they were going to do it at. They cleaned up nicely and so from my stand point it was a very good job. The fence is still holding up good and I think it is going to stay for a long time.
