Anabels Cleaning Service

Description of Work: In the spring I purchased a Rockford Register Star Daily Deal that was for 2 hours of house cleaning from Anabel's Cleaning Service. On the voucher there was a phone number to call to make an appointment with the last day of service to be the end of September. I hoped to use the service later in the summer in anticipation of of guests we would be having. In August and through September I called 7 or 8 times never once getting a person on the phone. There was an answer machine that said "Anabel's Cleaning Service" and said to leave a number. Every time I left messages that I wanted to make a date for cleaning and my phone number. Only twice did I hear from them. One time a message was left on my answer machine and I returned the call again leaving a message. There was no response. One other time I received a call and talked to a live person once who said " i didn't want you to think we were ignoring you" and to call and leave a message about when I wanted service. Several days later I did call and left a message giving a couple of possible dates for service. I never heard back, even when I called toward the end of September to ask them to let me know whether any of those days would work for them. After the end of September I decided that before I would report them for taking money and not providing a service I'd see if there was another way to contact them. I located an email address on line and wrote them. The response was "we completely understand your frustration; we do intend to provide the services we have offered." Several dates were offered by them as available. Also, since I mentioned desiring a refund they said I'd have to go through the newspaper directly. Since I wasn't sure who at the newspaper I would contact, I chose a couple of dates as possible for me to have service. The response was that they could fit me on Oct. 31 in the morning. I asked them to confirm that date and sent them my address and phone number. An email confirmed the date. October 31 arrived and no one from Anabel's Cleaning Service ever showed up or contacted me. I have no idea what is going on with Anabel's Cleaning Service, no explanation has ever been offered. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and to the RRStar.
