Very u professional when I called for service. The person who answered hung up and when I called back, called me a bi+(h and also used the n word. How does Angi employ such people?

My daughter spilled fingernail polish remover on our coffee table, which pretty much destroyed the walnut finish. Didn't take long to figure out that the repair was well behind anything I could do myself. Dave came by as scheduled, took the table and the matching end table that had a lot of nicks and scratches on it, and promised them back in a couple of weeks. Came back as scheduled looking better than new. Color was matched perfectly with the rest of the piece, and you can see the wood grain in it better than before. Great experience.

Great experience. David was true to his word. Very respectful and conscientious in all aspects of completing the repair; from initially setting up the appointment, immediately knowing what the issue was, meticulously repairing and inspecting other culprits, to cleaning up his work area. He definitely knows this business. In fact, years ago I purchased a sideboard for my dining room and upon delivery I saw some scratches. David was the person that came out to fix it, and I honestly don't remember where the scratches were because he did such a beautiful job...and I am very particular. I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND HIM.

In early April, David Honquest took a family heirloom that had seen better days and literally worked magic on it -- within a week! My dad's kidney-shaped desk -- which was a gift in 1937 -- was in terrible shape. Back in the day, Dad had spilled an entire bottle of fountain pen ink in a drawer and years of being in a damp basement had taken a serious toll. It fact, a drawer front had fallen off in transit. But the desk had extreme sentimental value so I wanted to see if it was possible to make it at least presentable. Given the extremely poor condition of the desk, some of the preliminary quotes from other Angie's List members were quite high. However, David got back very quickly to my email query with photos with a reasonable price. When I brought him the desk, he was interested in the back story which I particularly appreciated since this desk meant a lot to my dad when he received it for his twelfth birthday. I explained that it was probably not possible to make it pristine but that I'd just like to have it in a presentable condition to use in my home. David promised to do his best as it was a beautiful piece with character and a strong family history. I said there was no rush on doing it. Yet one week later, it was ready. I was simply blown away when I saw it again for the first time. The damaged veneer? Like it never happened. The mildew spots and musty smell? Long gone. And the giant ink stain in the drawer? Not a trace. The desk is now simply GORGEOUS! NEVER did I think this desk could be made brand new. Yet David was able to do it and do it quickly. It is clear David has an appreciation for fine furniture and for preserving the past. He absolutely is a miracle worker with furniture and there is no doubt, he cares about doing a great job. Even the inside of the drawers are smooth and pristine. I bet this desk looks better now than it did when Dad got it! I would highly recommend Honquest Furniture Repair and Restoration to anyone. He is reasonably priced and his quality and attention to detail are incredible. Any future furniture repairs are headed his way. In fact, I wish I had MORE pieces for him to restore -- he is THAT good. He was an absolute pleasure to deal with and I especially liked how he appreciated the history behind this desk. If my Dad could see it, he would be amazed and happy that his desk is as beautiful now as it was in 1937. It is great to have this family heirloom restored and usable for future generations.

It went very well. As opposed to other repair companies (Ackerman) that came to our home and TOLD US what had to be done to completely refinish our old pieces and then failed to even deliver an estimate as promised, Dave Honquest listened to our needs. We didn't wish to have our 1930s era pieces completed refinished and restored. They had already served my father's and my childhoods well. We wanted them functional to share with our children now that my Dad has passed away. To completely refinish and restore these pieces would have changed the character of the items, not to mention been more than we can afford. Dave listened. He heard what we asked for. When he returned the pieces, we were thrilled. They looked as I remembered when I was a boy in the 1970s and were now functioning again. He repaired and resealed them in a way that held onto their period and age. He even went the extra step of refinishing the fronts of our maple dresser drawers when he found that trying to blend the repairs in with the front face of the drawers would not meet his standards. Even with the additional work performed, he honored his estimate. My young boys love the finished product. Having recently lost their Grandpa, Dave brought a piece of him back to life. Dave returned earlier today when I had a problem with the movement of the desk canopy. Dave's 30 years worth of furniture repair experience enabled him to come up with a creative solution to fix the problem without having to sacrifice the original wooden arms. We appreciated the craftsmanship and customer commitment of Dave Honquest. While other larger furniture repair companies only offer a onse size fits all, top to bottem restoration and refinishing solution, Dave listened to our needs and worked within our budget to provide us with a wonderful solution that will last for years to come. Trust is hard to come by these days. Dave earned our trust. In the future when we have the space and funds to perform a complete restoration on my grandparent's beautiful 1920s end table, Dave will be the one we call.

Service provider came out to my house to inspect the piece of furniture I wanted repaired. He arrived promptly and gave me a quote for the work to be completed. I was able to schedule the work for a time that was convenient for me. I am very pleased with the repair and the professional manner in which the work was done. My table looks beautiful, as good as new! Will definitely use this company again.
