Warkins Electric

We were really pleased with Warkins and would use him again in the future as well as recommend him to other’s seeking an electrician in the greater Rockford area. We provided a list of items including replacing light switches that were malfunctioning, new outlet installation in an unfinished basement, outlet installation in a bathroom for a bidet, hardwiring a Ring doorbell, replacing all old hardwired smoke alarms, and troubleshooting/ replacing malfunctioning/ non-functional outlets. Rob was pleasant, communicative, and we were pleased with the price. One thing that really impressed me is that we were told several years ago that we would need an additional box if we added additional outlets. After looking at our box, he assured me that we had plenty of space and we wouldn’t need an additional box. I was really impressed with his honesty and integrity as he could have easily taken advantage of our lack of knowledge and fear when it came to electrical around the house!

Contacted them and several days went by and never heard from them.

He was friendly and professional. He was at our house the day after we contacted him. He was fast and reasonably priced. Would recommend!

Rob Warkins is a very dedicated and hard working Electrician. He had all the tools needed to complete the tasks at hand. If there was a problem he found a way to get it done because he had the parts needed and tools to complete the task. Rob is very organized being able to find what he needed. An amazing technician with great abilities and understanding of what needs to be done. Very impressive.

Rob did excellent work. He picked up a new fan, came on time and was very professional. Explained that the wiring was fine and it was the motor in the fan which had caused the problem. He installed a new fan and also fixed my smoke alarm. It was the long weekend but he came out and did an excellent job. I would definitely recommend him!

Rob did a great job installing about a dozen exterior lights and a 2-story foyer chandelier in our home. He brought a partner along to help and their communication and efficiency was seamless. His charge was highly competitive with other electricians and his referral to a local lighting store was really helpful. The only issue we had was that he had to reschedule a couple of days on which he'd said he was coming and we had to make the follow up calls to confirm his arrival. This is probably because he is busy and once we gave him must finish dates, he was on it right away. We'd recommend him.

I had a great experience with Warkins Electric. I have been having some issues with my GFCI power, so finally I decided to hop on to Angie's List and search for a qualified electrician. I came across Warkins Electric and read a lot of great reviews. I called him up and left a message. A few hours later I received a call back and a half our after that he arrived to my home. He quickly discovered the problem and was able to fix it in about a half hour! He was a real nice guy and I'm confident that he did the work properly. He was kind enough to talk with me and explain what the problem was and how things work. The education he gave was much appreciated. He also gave me a bid for another issue and I'm definitely going to schedule him to come back to tackle that. For the work that he did today, the price seemed reasonable to me. I would highly recommend giving Rob from Warkins Electric a call!

Excellent experience. I had a few projects I wanted to get done around our house, and contacted another electrical company to set up an appointment. The day came and went, and when I contacted the company they said they'd called me and I didn't answer, and they were already back at their office. I hadn't missed any calls, but I though perhaps they misdialed and set up an appointment for another day, giving them two numbers this time. They again didn't come or contact me the entire day. Ugh! Enter Angie's List and Warkins Electric. I sent Rob a message, the night before Thanksgiving no less, and he replied in about 15 minutes with an appointment early the next week! I was grateful and confirmed. Two days after that, a landscaping company broke an electrical wire going into my house by dropping a branch on it. ComEd set up a temporary patch, but said we'd need to get it rewired. I called Rob to let him know our project list had changed, and he so kindly let me know what the project might entail, allowed me to text him photos of what the wires looked like, and even offered to come out sooner (over the weekend) if I was worried. What fantastic customer service. We kept our original appointment and Rob magically dealt with the stubborn wires and got everything back in good order. I need to choose some fixtures so that he can handle other projects and I absolutely look forward to having him back to do so. This year I've been disappointed again and again as a homeowner by companies or individuals who either blow me off or who initially seem great only to deliver sub-par work. I'm thrilled as a homeowner that I now have an excellent electrician to call and will absolutely be recommending Warkins Electric to my neighbors and family. Rob has definitely earned his great reviews on Angie's List and I'm happy to add my great experience.

He came over in a timely fashion. All he needed to do was pull out the plugs that had the reset button and replace with a new one. I liked him. He tried to sell me an all house surge protector because my house had been hit by lightning. I found out they don't work unless they are 100 yards from your home. If they aren't 100 yards within your home, and it's a widespread problem, you have to go through the cable and utility people. I told him that and he didn't argue it. He was the first person that came to the house. He is good. He did well. If I found out that there is one outlet that he didn't test that is out, then I would have to say a 4 instead of a 5. He did all of the outlets underneath where all of the lightning went to the wall. Sometimes these buildings are daisy chained, and sometimes it impacts all of the electric in the room. If one goes out, they all go out. He was punctual. He was well mannered. He was a nice fellow. I felt he was reasonably priced for coming out and doing the electrical. He didn't leave a mess. He was professional. The only thing I questioned to myself after talking to the utility company was when he said these whole house surge protectors, people said they tend to have electricity and other places don't have it. It's a blanket area where 8,000 people are affected. I can't believe that one next door neighbor would have something go out and someone else wouldn't because they had a surge protector on the house. It's not a surge that affects the utility. I'm not sure if he was 100% honest about that. I believed the utility company because he had nothing to lose by telling me that. The other comment he made was that it was a good selling point for my home to have a surge protector. I thought that it made sense, but when I talked to the utility company, that didn't make sense. If he hadn't had made that comment, and hadn't put in a plug for a surge protector and I hadn't found out what I know now, I would say an "A". I didn't know if he was trying to make money. I would use his service again, but if he mentioned a whole house protector I would know what to say. It might have been my appliance that burned out. I plugged it in recently and it didn't work, but I don't use it very often. It could very easily be an appliance that went out.

Rob arrived right on time. Prior to that, we scheduled our appointment for the next day. He came and went right to it. Will not hesitate to use him again. Priced reasonably, to say the least.

I called Warkins at 8 am and had a doctor appointment at 11:00. Rob arrived within a few minutes and finished by 9:30. He found a short and fixed it very quickly. I will be using him in a few weeks to add another outlet in the garage. Thank you--- you eased my mind!

Rob was fantastic. He was very accommodating to my travel schedule, was extremely punctual (which was of critical importance with our work schedules). He was very knowledgeable, friendly and trustworthy. Not only did he replace the transformer, but he diagnosed the root cause, which was determined to be the wrong simmer switch. He upgraded the dimmer switch and we now have a properly function overhead light fixture in our kitchen. We are extremely pleased and can't thank Rob enough for the high quality, professional and punctual service. A++ across the board!

EXCELLENT!! He was early, very neat, quickly got the work done. I feel at reasonable price. Appears to be a great job. Everything properly installed. Very satisfied.

Rob did an excellent job. We called to schedule an estimate and he showed up exactly when he said he would. He emailed a quote within an hour and was able to schedule the work the very next day. He called the next day and to see if he could come a little earlier than scheduled, which worked out great for us. He is very professional and very efficient. Quality of work was excellent. I would highly recommend his services. We will definitely use him again.

He figured out that it was on the outside of my house, which means a ComEd issue.
