Swanwater Painting

He destroyed my mother's doors. He received oak doors both six panel and bifold. The clear coat have on all doors have numerous long thick runs. The clear coat also has large scattered debris scattered all over. When confronted with his complete incompetence he blamed everything but himself. He delayed the project two moths while we waited for him to complete this job. If you decide to employ him good luck. You will need it.

JJ was professional, punctual, talented, well informed and he goes the extra mile. He totally took the stress off our shoulders with hurrying to paint rooms in a time crunch before we moved in. He rearranged his schedule (more than once) and even showed us how to do a lot of fix ups around the house. I’m hoping to book him later this week to do more!

We are very pleased with the project! JJ did an excellent job on the textured ceiling in the living room/hallway. The paint job was very good! His quote was also quite reasonable (living room is 18' x 20'). He finished a day early and did not leave a mess. I plan to hire him again to paint the kitchen in the spring.

JJ from Swanwater Painting is an outstanding contractor. He has excellent customer service. He worked with my wife and I throughout the estimate process to really iron out details and develop a written bid that he would honor after the projects's completion. So, he is willing to work with you to get what you want and need with professional insight, and he's willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything's clear up front. Additionally, JJ is a true craftsman. He shows an aptitude for attention to detail along with the ability to think creatively to solve problems and exceed his customers' expectations. My wife and I were interested in painting our home so it would be more marketable to potential home buyers. While other contractors offered to paint the home the same color to reduce pricing, JJ gave us that option, but he also encouraged us to use different colors for the same price on his bid (which was lower than other contractors in the first place). Because he has multiple years experience in the industry, his ideas would have increased the overall attractiveness and appeal of our home. Although he hasn't performed the service he was contracted for because of scheduling issues, I trust that he would exceed our expectation based on his demonstrated expertise, other reviews on this site, and the quality of work he did to prepare the estimate. If we do complete the project with him in the future, I would not hesitate to work with JJ.

VERY good job. JJ was very professional and everything was done to our satisfaction. The next stain or paint project we do, he will be the contractor we call.

Payment in full was required upon job completion. Drywall was repaired. They we're supposed to come back and paint the drywall but never did. To their defense the weather turned against them but then they had the audacity to ask for full payment when the work wasn't completed. Partial payment was sent. They never came back to finish the job. The repaired drywall is still not painted.

Excellent, and they were about 1/2 the cost of another quote.

The job was bigger than any of us realized. The oak trim was old, so it absorbed the primer and paint and needed several more coats than we planned. JJ stuck it out though, and stayed, painting some areas 5 or 6 times, and went over every inch of the house and fixed anything he didn't think was perfect. The job took a lot longer than he thought but he stayed with it and finished it to perfection. Everyone on his crew was polite and professional and friendly. I felt very comfortable with them in my home. I sincerely appreciate JJ's integrity and worth ethic. He stayed and finished the job when most would've walked away. He totally transformed my house. We will have them back.

It went very well. JJ gave a fair estimate and the gentlemen doing the painting were very professional. The job required wallpaper removal and the walls looked excellent after that process. I would highly recommend Swanwater Painting.

What a pleasant experience. Very professional. He protected our furniture and rugs very well. The job took 2 days. Always promptly on time, very pleasant. Cleaned up both days so the house didn't look like a construction site. Can't say enough.

Our request for a quote came the next day. He was very professional and listened to our needs. On the first day of painting, all the furniture and rugs were carefully covered. He had all the ladders and scaffolding that was needed for the job. The 2 men arrived on time as they told us they would. Our house was nicely cleaned up after the job was done. They even added a few small painting spots to the job without a charge. The painting looks fantastic What a great company, and we can't say enough!

He never submitted a bid, and I never heard from him again.

We ran into a couple of issues as we learned there was not enough insulation in the celling to prevent damage in the future. We added insulation and this added more work for the painter as some holes were cut into the ceiling for access. JJ became ill for a few days as well as his family but did his best to keep the schedule and care for himself as well as his family. He is certainly trustworthy, does am excellent job and should prove to be reliable in the future. His Christian faith is evident throughout his work.

Great effort to finish before winter.

It went excellent. The texture was difficult to match but Joel did a great job on it. We were in a bit of a time crunch and Joel decided to do the job on his day off to accommodate us. He even helped me on another project I was working on free of charge. Incredibly nice guy that I would highly recommend for an honest price.

Swanwater Painting provided superior performance. The preparation, which is the most important part of a quality painting job, was meticulous. The owner was on site daily, recognized and provided a number of additional services above the scope of work, such as power washing stepping stones by the back patio and attempting to remove staining from the capstones of the front planter as part of the over-all service. He was on site even on Sundays, examining the performance of his work crew and addressing any painting issues that did not meet his performance standards. Swanwater Painting provided excellent service, careful attention to detail and precise painting performance. Pricing reflected the time and effort put into the project and was fair, considering the performance provided.I am pleased to recommend this vendor.

JJ and his crew were awesome! Picking paint for a newly acquired office was stressing me out. JJ showed up and eliminated all of that. He was very professional, provided suggestions that I would have never thought of and finished on time. The office looks better than I imagined. It was also very affordable based on other quoted I received.

J.J. quoted a very competitive price and is attentive to what you need. He explained everything he would do to ensure a good job, AND DID IT! Very happy with the result and his workmanship. Spent about one and a half days to complete the project.

We contracted Swanwater in May and were promised that the house would be finished by the end of June. JJ Swanson completed the east side of our home in early June, so the canopy could be put up on the deck. The rest of the house was delayed and the job was not finished until the end of September. We are very pleased with the paint job and would recommend Swanwater painting.

I hired Swanwater after reading their reviews here on Angie's list. We had our living room, family room, laundry room, entryway/foyer, hallways, and ceilings painted. JJ came out for the quote, color consultation, and was then onsite the week of the job. They did an excellent job! They definitely have an attention to detail. No missed spots at all and all colors transition perfect. They finished the job within the specified time and even performed some wall repairs at no additional cost! I would highly recommend Swanwater to anyone who is looking for a professional paint job at a very reasonable price.

Painter was still at the house when the movers arrived. He was only doing finishing touches. I would consider it to have gone very well.

It was done on time, quality of work was good and T.J. was very personable, would definitely use him again.

It was stressed to him the importance of sanding to bare wood as the stain could only be applied onto bare wood. He assured me he could do it and do it so it would look better than the job I did on the other 3 sides of the house. He was prompt in scheduling this job. The sanding job was not done at all satisfactorily, and the stain was applied over underhanded and unsanded cedar, resulting in one side of my house that is obviously darker than the rest of the house. I never heard from him after the job was done except to receive payment. Never did he check in on his worker doing the job during or after.

He told us how much & how long it would take before starting. He kept to his word & did a great job. Would use him again.
