serviceman was polite and professional entire time he was here. He did a great job cleaning up after himself and did a great job keeping the floors dry by wiping his feet each time he came in as it was raining. I was very happy with the price for the work.the company also did a great job working with my schedule so I wouldn't have to take off from work.

Arrived within the appointment interval we had been told to expect. When we called and made the appointment we explained what we needed done. In that list we indicated we needed a new pressure tank. When the serviceman arrived he informed us that Pearson wasn't licensed to do that kind of work. Would have liked to know that ahead of time since we might have tried to get someone else to do the total list. Was amazed at the cost of parts for the work done! Serviceman was polite and cordial.

He went downstairs and took the cover off the furnace and said and quot;how do you know you even need a liner?and quot; The clay heats up and drips onto the burners, even I can see that. I had to have someone repair it this winter, so I know what I need. He didn't even climb up on the roof to inspect anything. Then walked to his truck and said I would receive the bid in the mail. Which I still haven't received. If this is how you treat prospective customers, I don't understand why anyone would give them money.
Description of Work: I asked Pearson to come over for a bid on a Chimney Liner for the furnace.

Service provider charged for one hour however was only on site for 40 minutes. Total cost ($172) included hourly rate of $112 and travel of $60. It was broughht to his attention he was only on site for 2/3 of an hour and he did nothing about the bill. I filed a complaint with the Illinois Better Business Bureau. Received a call from Pearson Plumbing accounting and they refunded $26 of the bill (I have the cancelled check) to compensate for overcharging. Pearson denied overcharging to the Illinois Better Business Bureau.

The leak was in the wall. He had to search for it by cutting holes in the drywall. I have three drywall holes that I need to get fixed, but the leak is fixed. The leak was in the ceiling of the first floor and was leaking down to the basement. I have not been in a hurry to get the drywall fixed, as I wanted to make sure the leak was fixed. I have not had any more leaks from there.

I called in a panic because we smelled gas and when Nicor came out and checked it, they shut off the gas. So, I called Pearson. They came out the same day and fixed the leak. I also had them replace a water shut off while they were here. I was very happy about the prompt response and thought the price was reasonable. I would use them again.

That resulted in a gas leak which they came out to fix quickly, but the power vent was also not installed properly. (1 screw of 8). This caused exhaust venting in the basement which we did not notice until two days later. They said that because of these problems they would clean up the piping that I wanted cleaned up by the first installation and had asked to have done. The last Pearson guy who came fixed the piping as quickly as he could because he said he had to be somewhere that afternoon. He finished around 2 pm and at 8 pm I was down stairs and all was fine. At 8:30pm I went to use the kitchen faucet and no water came out. I quickly ran downstairs into 4" of water because a crimped line they installed was not crimped properly so it came loose dumping the water into my in hill ranch basement. I had to open the back door to let the water out. The did send Flood pro's out quickly that night and my family and I took all our stuff into our attached garage and flood pro's spent the next week gutting my basement and drying it out. We did not see a bill for that, but it took until December to settle with their insurance company which fell short over what we have spent to put things back together again not to mention damaged property. It is now March 2014, and we are still putting things back together. Even if they are union plumbers be cautious, watch them, and make sure to not have them start if they have to be somewhere else that day. You do not want a rush job, or you will be like me.

Very well. This was not an emergency but Pearson came at the time I requested, right on time. The job took about 3 hours and was efficiently done in a very difficult position. He wore his and quot;in-door shoesand quot; because we have white carpeting on the stairway, and he did a great job of containing and cleaning up his mess. Because some of the parts were unusual, he called his company and the parts were promptly delivered.
Description of Work: Replaced a 7-foot section of 3" PVC sewer piping which had a slow leak. The piping is about 35 years old and had several elbow fittings, one of which had the leak. The piping was located in a difficult location, above the ceiling tiles and heat ducts in a finished basement. There was no place to cut out the old pipe to install a new connector fitting so he was able to drill out an old fitting to receive the new pipe. I am a retired engineer and a fairly good "handy man" but this was beyond my capability.

The first visit was for a leak of unknown origin in my basement bathroom area. The plumber did a good job eliminating sources before targeting the area it was coming from. Access to the leak was not easy but neccessary. In the second visit, I found another pipe that had a constant drip near my furnace. Both issues were fixed professionally and cost was reasonable for work done.

Originally called them afters hrs on a Fri eve (after my usual company did not answer the tel.) Pearson's were immed avlbl and came right out to make sure I had shut things down correctly. Fee for this service was excused when they returned to replace the water heater, ie was free. Pearson's connected me with a water damage/ restoration company. Apparently they work together frequently -- which reduced the costs. Today, Pearson's replaced the water heater. They found a heater with an extra anode and an extended warranty. They called before they arrived, worked hard and cleaned up everything before they left. They even replaced all the faulty (and dangerous) ductwork from the original contractor. They cleaned the (apparently quite dusty) furnace interior/ blower. (Prev company had been here a few mths prior and apparently didn't think this was necessary. FYI: they also seemed to think I could repair the ductwork myself. Really?!) Superlative job all around.
Description of Work: Water heater failed catastrophically and flooded basement; ductwork, as installed by original contractor, had multiple, rusted through spots, looked like Swiss cheese, was a carbon monoxide poisoning hazard

Description of Work: We tried to install a new kitchen faucet and didn't have the right tools to stop the leaks we created. The experience started off well with the company providing a free no-obligation quote, which was nice and we decided to go with them. Immediately after the free quote, the problems started. Had to reschedule our original appointment on friday 09/13/13 to monday 09/16/13. Instead of cancelling the friday appointment they cancelled the monday appointment. When we called they couldn't get a hold of the plumbing supervisor to figure out what was going on. He finally called to explain the issue and we reluctantly agreed to let them do the installation. Right after the installation, our toilets started issuing a whistling sound when we flushed. We let it go for several days, after which we realized it was not normal to last this long. We contacted the company who sent a guy by the name of Ken who was very condescending. He said that our water meter was the issue behind the whistling. We have been living in this house for 11 years with no problems until the replacement water heater was installed. He turned a valve off which had the effect of decreasing our water pressure and stopping all hot water. We discovered the issue on a Saturday. I called the company and instead of telling me their office was closed on their recording (the recording said all their techs were busy talking with other customers) their phone just rang and rang. I called twice more with the same result. I called the plumbing supervisor's cell phone and left 2 voice messages but no response. I ended up calling our credit card company to dispute the charge because of the way this company handled our installation! I am very very disappointed with this experience especially since this company supposedly got good ratings.

Ken R. came out in late August to look over the basement and existing gas lines and provide an estimate for installation. Ken was on time, courteous, professional, and got right to it. He determined that flexible steel pipe would work best in the tight wall space from the basement to the stove. In light of our finished basement ceiling, Ken said he would start with hard piping from the unfinished work shop and go as far as possible to the laundry. He said that he may also use the flexible pipe in combination depending on any obstacles incurred. There would also be at least one 12 in. x 12 in. opening he would need to cut in the ceiling to join the pipes up to the laundry. Ken also informed us that there may be a need to cut additional openings in the ceiling if any obstacles presented. The work was done on Sept. 6 and all went very well. There was a need to cut only one opening in the basement ceiling and Ken was able to use hard pipe all the way to the laundry from the work shop. When he was finished installing the pipe, Ken told us that we might smell gas temporarily. Then he meter-tested the new gas pipes/valves in the kitchen and laundry to ensure they were sealed. Job well done and no issues to complain about. PS - A comment on a curious coincidence. The opening that was cut in our basement ceiling was quite serendipitous. After we started doing our laundry, one day while in the kitchen, I heard water in the basement hitting the cement floor. I held my breath and went down stairs to check it out. The ONE opening Ken cut out revealed our hall bath's tub drain raining water and showering the floor. The tub had been refurbished and new plumbing installed prior to our purchase of the home. When the washing machine started emptying, water was backing up into the tub drain and leaking out. If that one opening wasn't cut where it was cut, we wouldn't have known we had a serious plumbing problem to resolve quickly. Serendipity. (And lucky for us, our deal included an AHS home warranty!)
Description of Work: Pearson installed two gas lines to accommodate a gas stove and gas dryer in a home built in 1950. We had just moved in less than one month earlier.
