Description of Work: Was able to find replacement front security screen gate door hardware...big box stores did not have this old model gated door, but Nicholson special ordered it. Item arrived in time. Also ordered and had cut-to-size some ceiling light tiles...service was thorough, meticulous and careful. And found just the right size drain grate at Nicholson. Definitely the place to go for those hard-to-find items for older homes.

Description of Work: They repaired my snowblower. I paid extra for pick-up and return of the machine. The salesman said that there would be a short wait, as they were very busy. Once the snowblower was picked-up, the repair took less than a week. It works great.

+ -1 moreThis store is the go to place in Rockford for any part or advise. I have never been disappointed when I brought a piece in to look for a replacement. The staff is very helpful and they do not judge you for a lack of knowledge on the subject. Thank goodness there is a sore like this to go to, rather than the big box retailers who generally have no idea what you are looking for or the willingness to work you through the problem

Description of Work: Provided excellent customer service when I was searching for an outdated faucet extension stem. I also found a colored toilet seat to match my grey bowl perfectly. Had been searching all over the area for a replacement. Prices were very good.

+ 0 moreMy bathroom tub was leaking and I had a light switch stop working right around the same time in my house. I decided to replace these my self and decided to go to Nicholson Hardware. I was apprehensive about doing this plumbing on my own but thankfully the employees here are the most helpful crew you could ever meet. These guys are gurus! They not only knew the correct replacement stem for the tub but from the type of stem they could tell what neighborhood the house was from and when it was made! They also showed me the exact switch I needed as well. On each project they were able to verbally walk me through what to do. I've compared the parts sold here compared to the big box stores and they usually are the same price or lower and usually made in the USA. Forget the big box stores, save time and money at Nicholson's!

lawn mower repair
+ -1 moreI would tell someone that they are very good. They pick up the lawnmower and bring it to the shop and fix it and they bring it back. It is nice that they pickup and deliver lawnmowers and snow blowers.
Description of Work: He fixed my lawnmower. I had him do the pre-maintenance. He changed the oil and sharpened the blades.
