LDR did an excellent job with our fire restoration. Everyone we were in contact with at LDR were professionals and seemed to truly care about doing a good job, and getting us back into our home. Our supervisor Bryan was very good at keeping us up to date and informed. The pack up and cleaning crew, carpenters, painters, movers, etc. were excellent. None of our items were broken when we got them back and the house is just beautiful. Would use LDR again and would definitely recommend.

LRD came to the rescue when my mother's basement flooded. They were prompt, kind and always professional. They had to remove the carpeting and part of the drywall. They showed great care when moving her personal treasures. Dave and his crew from LDR did an outstanding job cleaning the mess and mitigating further occurrence of mold and mildew. I would definitely recommend this company. The cost was on the upper end of their quote due to the extent of damage and amount of personal property within the basement.

Fast, effective and courteous response by real professionals.
Description of Work: We had water damage in our finished basement due to a faulty humidifier valve and drain line. It flooded into the carpeting and padding and we didn't find it for 3 days. We called LDR and they responded with their mitigation team the next morning and moved furniture, rolled up the soaked carpet and removed the ruined carpet padding. Then they applied mold treatment and started the drying equipment.....

Our home was damaged from a gas explosion of a neighbor's home on June 11th, 2017. I found LDR in Rockford on State Farm’s website. On June 23, 2017 we entered into an agreement and were clear that our siding company was to be used, we had replacement coverage therefore the same material must be used unless discussed with me and that I receive a schedule for repairs. LDR and State Farm discussed the job and they agreed upon a completion date of November 30th, 2017. State Farm sent an email confirming this on August 1, 2017 to LDR and me. I requested a schedule numerous times but LDR would not issue one. Their workers and/or sub-contractors failed to show when expected, used the incorrect replacement material from what was currently in place, did not use material stated in their own quote that was mandatory city code, missed repairing a cracked 2x4 in the wall that was called out in the Architectural drawing, did not finish the demo leaving the screws and nails in the 2x4s, and nails, staples and tack strip on the sub-flooring. Our Bank’s inspector deemed the house at 16% complete in January 2018, seven months after the explosion and they had received a total of 45,884.18 the beginning of August 2017. Once the agreement was dissolved, LDR sent me a final invoice for 58,998.87. The bill included work/services that were not done, were not completely done, were not done to code (as indicated by the City when they received the permit), billed for materials based on the estimate than what was actually used, and billed for a cancelled purchase order from Home Depot. We had missing items and items damaged by LDR. Out of the 45,884.18 they have only done 28,897.60 (our current contractor still thinks that it’s too high) leaving 16,986.58 to be credited. The insurance company will not cover any rental expense passed March 30th, 2018 and we will still be out of our home April and possible May of 2018. Based on this experience, LDR seems to be doing a bait and switch with agreed up work/material, trying to get money for work not done. They made decisions to make changes that was not theirs to make, cut corners with less skilled people (their failed attempt to put in windows), billing for work that was not performed or finished. It is bad enough that people go through a terrible and frightening tragedy that turns their life upside down only to fall prey to a construction company that is conducting what seems like fraudulent business practices creating another level of stress and anguish.

Everything went great! I called and I reached a live person to describe the mess I was looking at and I heard from the service guy on call right away. Response time was fantastic!! Returned each day to check on the project and make necessary adjustments to fans etc. The entire experience was very pleasant for what was a big mess for us. I really appreciate the professionalism, follow through and quick response.
Description of Work: We had water damage due to a frozen sprinkler head in our manufacturing facility. This happened late evening on 12/30/17, the holiday weekend. The water was extracted, base boards removed, ceiling tiles removed, dehumidifiers and fans installed to remove the remaining moisture.

I suffered a house fire on July 24, 2010. My insurance company hired LDR to make the repairs. Before they came, my father and I boarded up the windows that had been broken. I walked through the house with a project manager from LDR, who later submitted an estimate for nearly $40,000. The estimate did not include any plumbing, although most of the plastic pipe in the basement was melted. The insurance company accepted the estimate, but LDR never started on the house. I attempted to call the project manager many times, but his business card only had the LDR office number, and they wouldn't give me the managers cellphone number. After nearly 3 months of trying to get some kind of action, the project manager finally called me and asked for $15,000 up front for "unseen damages". My deductible was only $1,000, so I called my insurance company and spoke to my adjuster, who said there was no reason for me to pay LDR any money out of my pocket over my deductible. When the project manager called me again asking for $15,000, he told me I could either pay him or walk away from the house altogether. Instead, I fired LDR immediately. Although they did no work other than a walk-through and an estimate, they submitted a bill to my insurance company for boarding up the windows and doors, which I did myself. They also billed me for the use of a dumpster, which was dumped in my driveway before being taken away empty. Overall, LDR made a horrible situation much, much more stressful.

Description of Work: I was getting sewage in my basement due to my neighbors plumber running a new water line through my sewer pipe. About 2/3 of my basement was flooded with sewage from not only my house but also 2 of my neighbors since we're all on the same sewer line. LDR spent about 2 1/2 days cleaning my basement and everything in it that they could. The things that they couldn't clean, they threw out in the garbage. They kept a very detailed list of what they threw out including small things like the few nails and screws I kept down there. The list came in handy when filing claims to replace what was damaged. I don't exactly what they charge because LDR billed the insurance company directly so I never saw the bill. But the person I talked to at my insurance company said it was around $5500. When LDR was finished cleaning my basement looked and smelled better then it did before the flood. They did a very good job. They had 2 people do the clean up, one of them whose name is Jennifer was very nice and professional.

I was given the name of this contractor from Lowes after looking at their cabinets. After signing a written contract to remodel my kitchen and paying 3,000 in advance on the work, LDR removed all the cabinets and plaster walls down to the studs and relocated my appliances to the adjacent dining room. Meanwhile, I went to Lowes and ordered my cabinets. While waiting for the cabinets, LDR installed drywall and taped .By August, my kitchen was still not any further along, my appliances were still in the dining room, and I had no water in the kitchen--so I had been eating out for 5 months. For 2 months I received a phone call from the LDR owner every couple weeks advising me that he was behind on another job and would get to me when finished with it. Finally, I told him that my patience was tested, and I wanted my kitchen and my life and wanted to be certain that insulation had been installed before the drywall went up. He showed up to review the job while I was at work andleft in a rage before I came home. Another contractor was installing a fence on my property at the time and asked who was the contractor in my house because he came charging out the door shouting expletives and said he was not coming back. In fact, he never did return-likely because he had not installed any insulation before putting up the drywall. He never returned to my property. I went to Lowes and found that all of my cabinets had arrived months earlier and were awaiting delivery. I also learned that this owner was actually working at Lowes. I made an appointment with the manager to air my complaint because it was Lowe's that had referred him to me when I was first looking at cabinets. The manager gave me a refund of 10% on my $23,000 of cabinets and arranged for another contractor to install them for me. My house is 100 years old and never had insulation in the walls, but given that I am in northern Illinois and have very cold winters, clearly any contractor would know to nsulate walls before putting up drywall. I finally got my kitchen, without any insulation, in September for a total cost of $27,000. I was very unhappy yet glad to have ended the fiasco and was unwilling to have someone else tear up everything in order to insulate and take another couple months before I would have use of my kitchen. I would NEVER recommend this company for anything.
Description of Work: The services performed were removal of all appliances, all plaster walls and ceiling down to the studs in preparation for a kitchen remodel. My kitchen remained in that condition for 5 months with no further work completed after replacement of drywall was completed.

They were fantastic. We had a dishwasher leak for about a month that leaked onto our hardwood floors through a ceiling. They came out and got that all dried out and they were fantastic. I would use them again in a minute. They assessed my hardwood floor and part of it had to be replaced. Then my whole floor had to be refinished so my insurance company then got involved.

I called them and they came. They told me that they took some guys off from another project to come over and support it. They did it so that it wouldn’t cause anymore damage to the house. They came back after a couple of weeks when the weather was better and they fixed it. They were very quite and cleaned up after themselves. One of the guys came back after hours to fix my toilet flush handle. They didn’t charge me for that.
