I requested an estimate for a large addition. Someone came out a couple of days later but wanted plans so I sent them plans. I called back to reschedule and no one returned my call. The estimator wasnt the the friendliest guy around either.

I've used this company before, and they are always helpful and prompt. My house is older, and so is the wiring, so I like to use a licensed electrician. Licensed electricians all have about the same labor charges per hour. Randy has always treated me fairly, and I trust what he says.
Description of Work: Needed the outside garage light replaced, which was installed using lag screws, and the wood behind them was rotting. Randy came out and looked at the light, gave me an estimate for labor, and told me he could install any fixture I liked. After I called to say I had purchased one I liked, an electrician arrived quickly, and did a good job.

His man did a great job. He got here at 8:20 am and left at 9.25am. I asked how much and he said his boss would mail me a bill. The bill was $260.00 and I was shocked. The breakdown was 1.5 hrs services $161.00 and material $99.00 That comes out to 107.00 an hour and the 99.00 for material. i can see charging 50.00 for the material but not 99.00.I called randy, the owner and I got his answering machine. I left a message and said I thought you charged too much for the material. Let me know if you can do better. I waited about 4 days with no reply and went ahead and paid the bill. The next time I call a contractor I will make sure I ask for a price. The other thing I thought about is about 3 years ago I called him(Randy Krup)for an estimate on some old knob and tube wiring in my attic, and he spent about 20 min. here. At the end of our conversation, he said it was still safe as long as it does not get disturbed. I think he added an extra 50.00 just for his time from 3 years ago. My complaint is he ripped me off for 50.00 on the material.
Description of Work: Installed electric range outlet wiring. The owner worked me in on a busy schedule. I should of asked for a ballpark figure, because I was very surprised when I got the bill. The outlet was directly below my electric panel in the basement so the run was about a 4' piece of conduit. The material used was an outlet for the stove and a double 40 amp breaker for the panel (his cost probably 20.00. 3 wires ,a piece of conduit and the wear of his tools(5.00)

Proprietor was friendly when called for an estimate. After explaining what I wanted done, he gave me an estimate of 1 1/2 to 2 hours labor @$107/hour plus approximately $100 materials. I agreed and an electrician came to my home on the date requested. He installed the dryer outlet and was friendly. Took approximately 2 hours to do so. Did leave a pile of sawdust on the floor of my basement and debris behind my dryer, though. I thanked him and he left. Two days later, I received a bill for 3 1/2 hours of labor and $190 for materials, or nearly double the original estimate. I spoke with the proprietor today, and he informed me that on "out of town" jobs he charges travel time there and back for his electricians. This was not mentioned during the estimate at all. If it had been, I would have simply purchased a gas dryer, as that was what the previous setup had been and would have required no alterations. He then informed me that I had not mentioned that my address was in Belvidere....if this was the case, how did he find my home??? Overall, the work was fine, but the billing was deceptive and in my mind dishonest. I am considering a Better Business Bureau complaint at this time...for all the good that does. Needless to say, I do not recommend Krup Electric.
Description of Work: Installation of a 240v appliance outlet including adding circuit breaker, running conduit, pulling wire, and replacing dryer cord.

In the winter my house flooded. I needed to use my washer and dryer afterward but the dryer outlet is on the bottom of the wall and I was afraid to use it because the water had been coming in from around the plate on the outlet. I called Krup Electric and asked them to send someone out to check my outlet. The owner said he could stop on his way home. He came to my house and told me the outlet was ok, but the cord on the back of the dryer needed to be reattached. He reattached the cord, checked the exhaust hose for lint, and told me I didn't owe him anything.
Description of Work: Checked an outlet for me.

I had a fuse that started to click off a breaker and I couldn't figure out why after switching off many circuits that were on that breaker. Called Krup and the gentleman traced it to an underground wire from the house to my outside front yard light. They replaced the wire underground and it works perfectly. Great job.
Description of Work: Replaced a faulty wire going to an outside front yard light.
