Description of Work: I called and made an appointment to repair a pocket door. He made an appointment to look at and give me a proposal.

Description of Work: I called him and he said he'd call me back in twenty minutes.I never received a call back.This was the second time this has happened with him.I was surprised by this as he has otherwise good ratings on Angie's list.He did tell me on the phone he could perform my needed service both times I called his company.

Description of Work: He put tile in two bathrooms and replaced several kitchen tiles. He also took out and then installed a dishwasher. The upstairs bathroom ceiling was peeling and he redid it for me.

He was just so nice and did an awesome job. I will call him again and would recommend him highly. Very thorough, cleaned up daily and a great personality! Thanks Rich!

+ 8 moreI get many compliments on my kitchen! It took about 9 months from start to finish (with me painting the walls). I did not have a problem with that time-frame as I don't like good work rushed. Certainly worth the wait. Rich uncovered a number of problems and issues which were fixed. I'm happy to have him work on the house as he communicates every decision, makes suggestions and does whatever you ask --
Description of Work: Rich is the "go-to" guy for all my home projects. Over the years he has rebuilt my kitchen (from studs outwards); rebuilt and enclosed my patio; created a downstairs half-bath; replaced windows; fixed electrical, plumbing; tiled, drywalled, installed hardwood flooring, framed, etc.! He is a one-man band and plays very well. I completely trust him in all projects. He is not the cheapest, but I prefer his way of doing work: it's like it's his own home...he does things right! I've lived in my home for 19 years and Rich has made many improvements. He makes suggestions that make sense and can save money. He doesn't "cheap-out" on the quality of product or workmanship! The biggest project was remodeling my kitchen. My house was built in 1925 and has been touched by many "handy-men" over the decades, to its detriment. Rich did it right: He took everything down to the studs. He rewired, replumbed, installed the cabinets. He sub-contracted the plastering job, but did not upcharge! He installed the sink, faucet and put in new windows and built sills and added trim work that matched the age and style of the house.

Description of Work: Remodel porch. Tear out the existing porch. Repair the floor joists on one side. Jack up and level the sagging roof. Install new pressure-treated wood floor. Frame in the half wall and spaces for new windows. Add electrical outlets to the inside and outside wall. Apply matching siding to outside frame and cement board to the inside. In the spring we will order new custom windows and paint all exposed wood. All in all we are very happy with our new porch and we look forward to the new windows. Richard's design looks as if has always been there; it matches our old farm style house perfectly...

+ 4 moreRichard the owner is a very hands on guy. He did most of the work himself. He hired a dri wall pro and worked with him to get the ceiling and walls done fast-and perfect. He also contracted the custom cabinets and took care of making sure we got what we wanted. I was concerned about the scope of remodeling 2 rooms one after the other, but it all went smooth. One bump occurred when the cabinetmaker screwed up the sink base and corner cabinet. I was freaked but Richard handled it and the work was barely interrupted. I will continue to use his services and in fact we are about to remodel and enclose our front porch. It is nice to find a service that meets your expectations and is affordable. Richard is fast fair and a pleasure to work with.
Description of Work: Kitchen: tear out kitchen, new dri wall, new lights, electrical, plumbing, custom cabinets to ceiling, tile floor, exterior door, faux finish door, trim, ceiling crown, tear out wall for a pass through, solid surface counter top, paint. Dining room: new hardwood floor, wainscot, chair rail, crown mold new ceiling, faux finish 3 doors, insulate windows, new sconce lights. Lots of detail work and misc repair. Ours is a very old house and frequently needs repair somewhere.

All my concerns were addressed and the work went surprisingly well. I met with the cabinet builder but Richard handled all the day to day contact with him and the other contractors. He is a hands on competent tradesman who outperformed my expectations. I have used him frequently over the years to do a wide variety of home repairs. He has always been fast , fair, and quality driven.
Description of Work: Kitchen remodel: drywall, electrical, painting, custom cabinets, trim, new floor, ceiling, counter top and tiled back splash. Tear out wall for pass through.
