Nick and the Dry Otter crew do fantastic work. Everything from beginning to end was top notch. The estimate was true, the work was done well and on time, and the result of the project is perfect. I live on the East Side of Madison and have had water seeping into my basement for years now. Dry Otter trenched all the way around my basement and installed a sump pump. I've been thinking of doing this project for years and met with all of the local companies that do this, and I'm very glad that I picked Dry Otter for the project. I was definitely nervous about possibly having to rip out the existing basement stairs as part of the job, but these guys were able to preserve the existing stairs which saved me from a huge additional cost. I'd recommend anyone to strongly consider this company for a sump pump installation. They answered all of my questions after the job and even sent someone after the project was done to tighten a nut on the water meter that was slowly leaking. Now I'm turning half of my basement into a chill out zone for the kids and keeping the other half as a utility basement. Our house just became way better. Probably the best thing I can say about this crew is that they are honest business people that stand by their work. Expect a job done well, on time, and at a reasonable price.

I was so impressed with the owner's quick response to the voicemail message I left, his professionalism, and his willingness to talk through the situation with me. He ended up advising me to seek services from a general contractor who might be better able to give me the help I really needed (address the root cause of the leaking by replacing the slab and repairing the rotting entryway), rather than what I thought I needed (basement waterproofing). He could've tried to get some business from me with a band-aid repair, but instead was honest. Even after it was clear he wouldn't be getting my business, he still stayed on the phone to help educate me on what to look for. I am super-impressed and would love to give this guy my business in the future.

The rep came and inspected the basement and quickly said, 'You don’t need us, you need a landscaper to regrade the soil away from your house. That will solve your problem.' I did have that done and it solved my problem. I appreciated the integrity and honesty he brought to my situation. I recommend these people whenever I can.

Co-owner Jonathan showed up for site appraisal very promptly. He was able to schedule repair work for following morning--it was worth it to me to pay a premium as my property had just been listed for sale. Team of Leader Mike and Helper Paul were on-time, efficient, attentive to clean-up, and answered questions I had throughout the Emecole Crack Repair process (which was fascinating to watch being done). Dry Otter responded same day with my telephone inquiry about the 10 yr transferable warranty, which I received by email. It was a breeze from A-to-Z dealing with Dry Otter. Great experience with Nick and John at Dry Otter. We are selling our home and were in a time crunch. Though very busy this time of year, they were able to add us in their schedule at a time that fit our closing requirements. We also got separate quotes from competitors. Nick and John provided a fair price, great service and great communication. They also provide structural work when necessary, though that was not necessary for our situation.

Great work! The work was done on a house we had for sale. Dry otter came in did the work so we would be done by the closing time. The other local contractors were more expensive, "G" contractor even wanted to avoid a meeting with us to explain what they were offering, and another contractor was 3 weeks out for even giving us a quote. We will absolutly use "Dry Otter" again!

Nick and his team were friendly, organized and easy to work with. Nick was responsive during the estimating process and the team worked quickly in time so that the work was complete prior to closing on our house. He was also good at providing rationale about why and why not to do some of the things our buyers asked for and while he could have done a service that would have cost more money and increased his job - he advocated for taking a leaner approach because it was the best solution for the job. I would work with him again in a heartbeat.

Nick came out to give us a free estimate. He was prompt, precise and friendly. He gave suggestions to reduce the moisture, but felt we didn't need any thing done other than buying dehumidifiers and checking our drain spouts. He was after solving our problems not creating unnecessary costs, which we appreciated. He gave good advice and was kind.

They were quick to give me an estimate and quick to schedule to get the work done. They were great to work with overall. I give credit to them for even wanting to step foot in the bug infested, damp, cob webbed, dark crawlspace in the first place!

We were very pleased with Dry Otter's work. Some specifics: * We liked the fact that the two co-owners, Nick and Jonathan, were involved throughout the process, from estimate to completion of the work. Nick came twice beforehand to discuss the job and gave us valuable advice on the advance preparations that would be needed. In contrast to the two other businesses we considered, he didn't try to sell us products we weren't interested in (e.g., an expensive dehumidifier). * Once we decided on Dry Otter, we were able to get on the schedule relatively quickly (1 month). * We were dreading what we thought would be two days of jackhammering and extensive concrete dust. Instead, six men finished the job in a day and a half with remarkably little mess. Nick was on the job the first day, and Jonathan, both days, which instilled confidence that the job would be done right. We've been assured that we can now get the drywall back on the walls and install new carpeting with no worry about future moisture in the basement. We're hopeful that this is right.

I didn't even know they were here!! I came out one morning and my neighbor waved at me to get out of my vehicle. He said, "did you know they were here?" I replied I didn't know what he was referring to and he said, "they raised your sidewalk!" I must have slept right through it. They did an awesome job!!!!

Dry Otter did an initial walk through, Followed-up with another walk through, called to verify the evening before, were on-time, left when they said they would, and came when they said they would. The jack hammering was not as loud as I thought and their new style hammer sucks up all dust and the dust that was left, was very minimal if even at all existent. They taped all of our belongings, laid down canvas to protect stairwell and driveway. All in all -- very professional. I would hire this company to do this work again. There was a piece of trim in the basement that was broken, but I am not too worried about that. Heck they even cut existing paneling in our rec-room and there was no saw dust, to get to to the actual foundation of the home.

When we bought our house, there were several cracks in the basement foundation walls - we were assured that the prior owners never had any problem with water leakage through them. However, once we lived there we discovered that every so often, under certain conditions, water would indeed leak through - and while it was never a lot of water, was in the unfinished part of the basement, and never caused any terrible problems, we always knew this was something we really should take care of at some point. So "Repair Basement Wall Cracks" was added to our "To Do List" ... where it remained for almost 10 years! But at last it made it to the top of the list - the time had come! We contacted Dry Otter Basement Waterproofing after reading their excellent reviews on Angie's List, and were very pleased with their service. Co-owner Nick was very helpful and responsive when we were making the initial inquiries, the work was scheduled in short order, and the two workers who came to do the job were excellent - they were helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to explain the procedure and discuss some options for the project. They left the job site very clean as well. The repairs look great - we have every confidence that we will have a dry basement going forward. If it did turn out that some issues remain, Dry Otter's excellent warranty and professionalism would make us have no hesitation in contacting them again to diagnose and address any remaining problems.

Cracks appear to be effectively sealed. One of the 2 guys broke a wooden basement step with a hammer while trying to allow himself more access to the floor.

Everything went smoothly. Everything Nick LaBansky promised ... happened! We're so pleased with his company and would highly recommend to anyone needing his services to call and utilize their services.

I couldn't be more pleased with the way this project turned out. Nick, one of the two owners, was a treat to work with; professional, responsive and a straight shooter. Their bid compared favorably with that of their competition both on price and honesty (there were no superfluous extras/add-ons included). On the day of the "big dig", a crew of 4 showed up on time and immediately got to work. I was amazed to find out that they planned to dig the (rather large) hole which houses the egress window by hand rather than use a backhoe, specifically because doing so avoids damaging the lawn; just one of many examples of their commitment to customer satisfaction. In about 6 hours, this productive crew managed to dig a massive hole, cut the concrete foundation, install a window, back fill said hole with gravel and clean up their mess. The window looks fabulous, and after multiple heavy rainfalls, has proven to be completely water proof. There was a small mix up regarding the color of the window that Nick has graciously chosen to address, again displaying his full commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.. In short, I would not hesitate to work with DO again and can't recommend them highly enough.

I called Dry Otter because I suspected that my drainage system was not working properly. I was given an appointment within a couple of days. Nick came out and assessed my basement and actually suggested that I try Roto Rooter as a first step. Roto Rooter was not able to reach the entire system, so Dry Otter installed 6 access pipes, replaced my old sump pump, and revised my sump well. All work was completed on time and on budget. The crew was respectful and very competent, and cleaned up after the cement work. I am very pleased with the work and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them .
