They charged me $917 for replacing the inducer motor. I had to call three times for a break down of cost of parts and labor. They said the cost for the motor was $725, and labor was $192. They also charge a $80 fee for coming out. This fee is waved if they do the work. However, the waver was probably added to the cost of the motor. I checked on line for the cost of the motor. It was less than a $100. That is the most I have paid for any kind of service like that. They are very crooked. I will never use them again.This is the first time I have ever written a negative review about a company.

The electrician was very nice and did good work, My complaint is that he said I needed all wall receptacles in the kitchen changed to grounded ones, even the ones nowhere near water sources. Each cost me $175 for a total of around $1000 since he said that they cost $100 per unit with $75 labor. I was shocked but went ahead with the job and have regretted my decision since. You pay $125 just to have them come out and look and, knowing that you've already paid that amount toward the service makes you more likely to agree to the inflated prices. Axberg has always had a good reputation in our area and I'm terribly disappointed.

My technician was here no longer than 15 minutes before he "very sadly" informed me that my heat exchanger was rusted through, he disabled the furnace 'for my safety,' and that he would have a consultant confer with me about purchasing a new one. He over-quoted to me -- based on what two other reputable providers shared -- what a replacement exchanger and labor would cost. FURTHER, he did not inform me about the warranty which was still in effect on my exchanger, something of which he had to have knowledge of. Suspicious, I did follow up on Angie's List, and discovered that Axberg -- a company I once trusted -- was purchased by Black Diamond and its reviews have plummeted. I followed up with a consultant provided by Angie's List, who did carbon monoxide testing and a thorough exam of the exchanger. Not only did I not need a new furnace. I didn't even need a new heat exchanger. Axberg has lost not only my business, but I will ensure that my workplace will no longer require their services. Shame on them!

Tech came out and said we have a freon leak. He didn't clean anything or try anything else and told us we need a new unit. We were told it was a free estimate but cost is $125.00 for absolutely nothing! Also the prices were twice as much as we were quoted by other companies but we thought it was a free estimated....not so much .

I?ve used Axberg in the past, and thought they were an honest company that was fair to its customers. However, the Axberg Heating Company I knew has been sold out to Black Diamond. It appears they are relying on Axberg?s past reputation and are taking advantage of those customers. I just bought a house, and I had not moved in yet and needed a furnace humidifier repaired that was constantly running water to the humidifier. I also wanted a quote to run a gas line in an unfinished basement for a gas stove in my kitchen. Axberg did repair the humidifier, but I feel I was ripped off by charging me $285.00. The job took only 15 minutes. After the repair was complete, I checked online and found the part for $30. There was also a YouTube video online showing how to complete the repair in less than 5 minutes. I will give credit for 1 hour of work time, meaning the labor rate was $255.00 per hour. For the amount of money they charged, I could have replaced the humidifier. The estimate for the gas line was $1180.00. I was totally shocked and I thought maybe I was hearing it wrong. I asked if he said $1180 meaning $1200 do the work and he said yes. It was only going to be a 1-2 hour job, nothing that difficult. Needless to say, I did not have them install the gas line. Instead I found a certified gas installer who completed the job for $265.00. Axberg was going charge more than $900 dollars more. Axberg is dishonest and crooked with their high, and unjustified rates. Even though the person from Axberg sense my frustration, he suggested that I replace the humidifier water panel. He wanted $50 for the panel (that he had already taken out for the repair). I told him to forget it. I bought ten water panels online for $50 dollars (with shipping it was less than $60) and only takes a minute to change. I will no longer used Axberg for anything. Not only have lost me as customer, but I own another house that I rent to my brother, and manage my mother?s house. So in a sense they lost three customers due to their greediness. My response to Black Diamond's Reply to my Review: When I first saw the response from Black Diamond (Axberg), I decided it wasn?t worth my effort to respond. However, after thinking it over, I thought it may be beneficial to other people (possible customers) to reply back to Black Diamond?s response. So here?s my personal thoughts. First, I have to ask?is the response from Black Diamond serious? And is this a really a genuine effort to reach out to me? Or are they simply trying to make themselves look better after of a poor review? After all Black Diamond has my address, phone number and email. What else do they need to contact me? Why do they need to ask what the best way to contact me is? If they really want to reach out to me, how about writing me a letter, sending me an email or even try to calling and leave a voice message if I don?t answer? Why does a company, that truly wants to resolve a customer problem, need to ask on a website how to contact me? Okay, fine, maybe it?s a genuine effort. However, I do not see this a simple error of misquoting me the wrong price. I had an actual Black Diamond ?professional? (Gregg) in my house. He saw exactly what I needed/wanted before he gave me a quote. He even called someone at Black Diamond to ensure he was giving me the correct price. There was no mistake. Gregg was very clear with his quote, and knew I was not happy with it. The price quote to me was more than four times as much as another company. So, it seems to me, that either the ?professional? was incompetent or took me for a chump. Either way, there?s a major problem in Black Diamond. Even if it was a simple mistake then why was I charge $280 to install a $30-dollar part that only took 15 minutes replace. Once again, it seems to me that I was sized up as a someone they could take advantage of. I understand that a company has overhead and cost. I get they must make a profit. But, do they really need to charge over $200 dollars an hour? And then let?s not forget the ?professional? wanted to charge $50 dollars to replace the water panel that he had already taken out to repair the humidifier. If I can buy the water panel for $5.00 why was I going to be charged $50.00. Is it company policy to charge for labor even though the part had to be remove and the put back in with another job? This would be double dipping, which I would consider unethical. Or maybe it was just simply overcharging me 10 times the cost. Again, another unethical situation. My original review stands. I view Black Diamond (Axberg) as a dishonest company. If they really want to get a hold of me, they have my contact information.

On 9/1/15 our A/C unit was not cooling our house. We called Axberg, which is now called Black Diamond, late in the afternoon and they were able to come out that evening. The technician came out and replaced the capacitor and cleaned the unit. Charged us $298. We were very pleased with the service until on 9/6/15 when we had the same problem occur again and our house was once again not being cooled properly. I called Axberg and spoke with the lady who answered the phone and explained that we had just had our unit serviced and were having the same problem. She said she would send someone out. About 1.5 hours later a technician arrived and after checking the unit showed us some wires that appeared to be burnt and said the capacitor was bad again. He blamed it on the unit not being big enough for the square footage of our house. He replaced the wires and the capacitor and recommended replacing the unit with a bigger one. We have had this unit for 10 years and it's never had a problem cooling our home and the square footage has not changed. He went back to his truck to call his supervisor to see what the charges would be for this service call. He came back with a bill for $328 which included a $75 after hours fee which I was not informed of when I made the initial call to the office. He also charged an additional service call charge. The website is deceiving because it shows 24 hour service and does not mention anything about after hours fees. So what constitutes "after hours" if they advertise 24 hr. service? We scheduled an appt. with him to send someone out the next day to give us a an estimate on a new unit. When the sales representative came out the next day he gave us a quote for the same size unit. I asked him why he was trying to sell us the same size unit when the technician had told us it wasn't big enough to cool our home . He said he had no idea why the tech had told us that because the size of our A/C was adequate for the size of our home. Unfortunately I feel like the purchase of Axberg by Black Diamond has affected the quality of service. I will be looking elsewhere for any future heating & A/C services.

Everything went smoothly and on schedule. The installers were great and highly professional. Duct sealing was something new to me and the technicians were fantastic explaining what they were doing. Post duct cleaning and sealing the technicians cleaned up so you would never have known they were there. We got our first utility bills since the HVAC replacement and system upgrades - What a great surprise.

The tech took the pump of and inspected it and thought it might be the coupler. He then installed a new one but the pump would not run. He then went and picked up a new pump and installed it and got the boiler up and running.

We are so pleased with our new furnaces, and with the employees of Axberg/Black Diamond heating. I would highly recommend them. They are no-BS and will work with you to give you what will work best for you, and will work within your budget. Safety is #1 with them. It's very important to this family-owned company that they do the right thing for their customers.

Jake was scheduled to come between 12 and 2 but got tied up. The office lady called me twice telling me he would be late. CONSIDERATE. Then Jake called a half hour before arrival telling me he was on his way from another nearby small town. He was busy at work by 3 o'clock. Jake was professional and very thoughtful--an asset to Axberg Heating. We have an extended warranty for the unit and critter damage is not usually included in such warranties. However, Jake was nice enough to do it at no charge because he used about 25 cents worth of materials and because the warranty information did not have a critter disclaimer. SWEET BUT DON'T EXPECT YOUR CRITTER DAMAGE TO BE AT NO CHARGE. FYI: Black Diamond has acquired Axberg Heating

We called in the morning and they were able to come to our home in the afternoon. Very professional and friendly when I greeted man at door. He immediately put booties on over his shoes without having to ask him which I really appreciated. He explained things as he did them which I also appreciated. He was very articulate. I wish I could remember his name, but he was a great example of what service provider should be.

I called on a Thursday afternoon. They came out by 430 the same day. Great guys and very informative. They could fix the old unit but we decided to go ahead with the replacement. They were able to install next day. Took two guys about 3 hours to install. Was very smooth and quick. Absolutely no problems. Price was a little high but having a good company install made up for it.

very good. technician was very informative about how system works. he serviced ours and recommended the filter type we needed. he also serviced our furnace.

Perfectly... They came two days after we decided to do it, and finished the complete install in just one day!!

My furnace of 19 years and 2 months failed the day before Thanksgiving! Axberg came in and confirmed that the furnace needed to be replaced. They helped me limp along through the holiday and weekend and left space heaters to use until they could replace the furnace the following Monday. The installers were prompt on Monday, walked through what they needed to do and how long it would take them. They left that same day with the new furnace in place, the old one out, and no other evidence that they were there. Three days later (Thursday, 12/05) their service person came in to make sure the furnace was operating perfectly by making any minor adjustments and asked if he could answer any questions that I had about the new features that this furnace had compared to my old one. These guys were great!

Second time I have used Axberg for a complete install. From my first contact to the final service check out, they are the best! A couple of days for a quote, timely and professional installation, always willing to work with the costumer on minor changes. Great people!

Nothing was BAD about my experience with Axberg, but I generally felt that it took too long to get answers regarding the different options I had when it came to repair vs. replace. My initial service was about 2 years ago, when my AC unit wasn't keeping up with the summer heat. Someone came out and replaced a part, and put refrigerant into the unit, it cost about $300 and was a fair price. I called again a couple months ago, and a salesperson came out and just told me that I had to uncover the dampers before I did anything else, and left; there was no charge for the sales visit. The third time I called was just today; a technician came out very promptly to figure it out. Each step he came in to inform me about the price of what he was about to do, but it gave me this wierd vibe about being on the hook for more and more money. It's probably not intentional, but it felt like I was being jerked around. The company does not allow their technicians to quote pricing on a new A/C unit; this was fishy to me, because now I have to wait in order for a salesperson to come and look at my AC unit, which I already know the size of. The 2 sides don't seem to mix at all. I don't like the way they set up their repair vs. replacement and how they keep the 2 separated. My sense told me to call another vendor, and I preferred the new vendor. The new vendor was slightly cheaper, and diagnosed the unit very quickly and gave a no pressure comparison of a new unit, vs the repair.

Very prompt, and perfectly up front with what the cost for the fix would likely be, very pleased with the professionalism!

The tech arrived and checked the furnace. Found an issue that was causing the problem. Did the job timely and was happy with the service.

Axberg Htg Co Inc was punctual, came as soon as they could, professional, has good quality of work, and has always done right by us. They had to get a part elsewhere and didn't price gouge me for their service.

We called out previous furnace man twice with no response. Checked Angie's list and found high reviews for Axberg and $100. off coupon. After the service call, they were prompt and polite. They even wore booties over their shoes without being asked to. the salesman was informative and low pressure. After deciding on the model, new furnace was installed in a timely manner. Very professional from the statt to finish.

They fixed the problem for a reasonable price.

Person who came out for estimate was on time & very professional. He went over all rebates & discounts available. Quoted us a price which was reasonable. We had 4 estimates & Axberg 2nd lowest. #1 in our confidence & their professionalism. Done in one day (including air conditioning). Best thing - Price was exactly as quoted. Our only complaint was a free final systems check which got overlooked. We called & had it straightened out. When they came back out the thermostat programing was explained also.
