It is clear that Brian believes only his own time to be of value. He has no regard nor respect for the time of his customers. I should have cancelled the contract on the first day I hired him, when, after learning I am a lawyer, he asked me how he could sue a past customer for failure to pay (I would not be surprised if the non-payment was due to underperformance and overcharging by Brian). I gave him the benefit of the doubt instead- which turned out to be a mistake. I had to leave my office on multiple occasions to let Brian into the house to measure and re-measure and re-measure again the windows for the screens. Twice, he was a no show which was very frustrating as I am very busy and I also charge by the hour. After installing the attic ladder, he left piles of wood shavings in my hallway and on my front porch. When I came home from work, the first thing I had to do was vacuum which made me very unhappy- if he is going to charge $400 per day, he can darn well clean up after himself. I called him and told him I didn't appreciate having to clean up after him and he did not apologize for the inconvenience on that day or any other. He seems to believe that if he makes a good repair then overall professionalism including timeliness, dependability and good manners are unnecessary. I wondered if my experience was an aberration but see other reviews with similar complaints. I do not think he will maintain an A rating if he continues with this kind of hit/miss record. If you are willing to pay for excellent service- don't take a risk on this guy- definitely not worth the hassle.
Brian take pride in his work and it shows. He was always careful before he did anyting to re-check with me to make sure he was doing it right. He was very polite and serious about doing a good job no matter what he was completing from my list.
We will have him back in the future for any other repairs we may need.
Thank you Brian!
A little high on the price.
The price was "OK", considering that he needed to go to get parts.
was to drywall a room with a closet and the ceiling. He quoted 1 price
and went back on it and asked for almost twice. The time total was
almost 3 months to get just the 1 room done. Once done, he missed
parts on the wall and ceiling. It wast flush and overall poorly done.
He
also wired the outlets and lighting/switches then wired it to the box.
Since that time, i have electoral issues where my fuse box pops when
you use the microwave/toaster (I have replaced both and still have the
same issue).
He was late or never showed up when he stated he
would be on site. I helped him put in the ceiling! but he still wanted
to charge me almost twice the original quote.
I would not go back to him and I would suggest that none else does.
Initially Brian had to go to Menards, near my house, for the electrical supplies. Work commenced upon his return. One outlet had to be added near the floor for my components to be plugged in and one outlet had to be added higher up on the wall behind the TV mount. We do have access to the back of that wall through the garage, so Brian did make some small drywall cuts in the rear wall which he repaired upon completion. After the electrical was finished, Brian installed the wall mount for the TV and it looks great. The final touch was to run the cables for the TV from the mount area to the floor area. It was kind of tough to fish them through the wall but, after watching him try to get the wires through for a few minutes, I offered to help since I have a skinny arm. Once I stuck my scrawny arm in the wall and grabbed the cables, work was just about complete. Brian cleaned up after himself and did a fine job of fixing the drywall in my garage wall. He was also kind enough to leave me some wall repair plaster because I had a few small holes (unrelated to his work) that I needed to fill in.
I will definitely call him as soon as our budget allows for our next home improvement project!
"I should mention that for the service call, she still had me put in a new detector since it was furnished and purchased. She also had me look at some lighting issues in her basement as well. Nice family. It was great to meet new customers like them."
