Goff's Plumbing & Heating

I really liked Goff's Plumbing and Heating when I first used them to replace my old sump pump. They were professional and did a good job at a reasonable rate. When they installed a new water heater, I also thought they did a good job at a reasonable rate. The problem came when months later I smelled gas in my basement and traced it to the hot water heater. I rarely go to that section of the basement and so I didn't notice it until months had passed. I called them and they came out and told me there was a leak due to a faulty gas valve. They charged me approximately $94 to replace this part that was faulty from manufacture. They didn't charge for the new part, but charged for 2 hrs of labor to replace it. When I called to ask why they were charging me for something they should have been responsible for replacing free of charge since they had installed it and it was a bad part, they were very rude on the phone, telling me that I should have noticed the leak sooner and that they had to make a living. The man I spoke to (I cannot remember his name) was not professional and insulting, basically telling me that I was at fault for not detecting the gas smell sooner. If he had been decent on the phone and not so patronizing, I would not have given them a bad review. I will never use them again.

They are highly recommended, very diligent and very thorough.
