PLAZA RENOVATIONS

He showed up on time the first day, removing the cabinets and knocking the components down to cart them off of the job site. He loosely covered furniture in the living room with plastic. However, due to lack of his communication with me the progress of the project seemded to deteriorate over time. He didn't clean up after himself on a daily basis, leaving buckets of debris in my living room and sawdust on his tarp and on my carpet and woodwork. When I mentioned that I didn't like the crown molding application, where pieces of the prefinished stained molding did not match well, he argued with me, when there was an acceptable piece available in my order for just that purpose. All he had to do was to unbox all of the molding and choose the best pieces. I was also available to assist with this process, but he never ask, just put up the first pieces he came to. When I wanted the crown molding removed and replaced, he wanted to charge me. He also adopted this attitude when I indicated I didn't like the arch cut in the wall between the between the living room and kitchen. He wanted me to provide a template and he wanted to charge me for fixing the uneven arch. Both of the doorway arches were beautiful. In all he treated me as though I had no experience or intelligence. On the last day he yelled at me and I told him that I didn't want to argue or get in a "*&^*$#" contest so to please just leave. Previously, we had also disagreed over the electrician that he had suggested that I use. Mr. A. Plaza indicated that I couldn't find a better or less expensive electrician. I felt his recommended electrician did good work and showed up on time, but I didn't like that both men didn't want to provide good itemized statements. The electrician put in lights mfg.'d in China that I could only find on close out websites, but he wanted to charge me for Grade A quality name products. All in all, a very bad taste in my mouth, I canceled Mr. Plaza's painting of the kitchen and replacing of the woodwork, as the tiles that were replaced in two areas of the kitchen have terrible grout lines, like he was filling in space to make tiles match up. I would not recommend him for anything really serious.

Andy and his employee do excellent work. Andy has done painting and odd jobs for me for the past 5 years or so. Andy is a good all around handyman in addition to painting. I would definitely hire him again.
