Prepare to be nickel and dimed. They showed up on time, and were great in responding to my contact. Based on correspondence, I was very hopeful for good service. Once they showed up however, they started the clock on their cell phone while we were still talking, and they hadn't even brought in their supplies. We were 12 min into the service before they actually did any work. They seemed to be moving slowly as they worked too. After the purchase was up, the price of finishing the job went up 100% from the angles list price...and they still didn't finish. There was one wall remaining which didn't get done, and they estimated 30 min to complete. I asked if I could pay for another 30 min to complete it and was told that a 30 min purchase only gets 20 min of work so I would have to buy 1 hour for another $110. On top of that I walked in during the job and found him writing the receipt instead of working on the wall. They stopped work 3 min early as well. To be fair the quality of the work was good, but if this is what Angie's List providers typically work like, I won't be using them again and will go back to Craigslist.

Even prior to the appointment, they were very good at keeping in touch and communicating. Very responsive and a pleasure to work with early, even for my very small job. The team was there early and quickly identified and explained what they needed to do, how long it would take and what would be the next steps (i.e. how to paint, how long to wait, what are possible risks in the job that could complicate the plan) Things went well, they were able to fix the problem, overcome some of the complications they found and the new patch looks great. All within the time budge. Very good work from them.

It went great. The guys who came out were personable, tidy & worked well together. I had purchased a deal for 4 labor hours & the two guys finished in just under two hours, and were not put off by my tendency to observe repairs & see if I can learn anything. The only sliver of an issue is that they were early getting to me. That's why the B in punctuality.

Overall, it went very well. We had the work done about a month ago and waited to leave a review until after we painted the room. The room is now painted and you cannot tell that there was any patchwork completed, which is a sign of good quality work. The repair area was plaster and the crew did a good job cleaning up all of the dust.

Everything was completed and the area was very clean after they were done. I thought about hiring them again to do more work, but decided it was not necessary right away but the owner contacted me to schedule again the next day. So, overall, good work and responsive - all at a great price.

I purchased the caulking and drywall repair deals from JT Contractors and I am so pleased with the service. Chuck and Richard were consummate professionals in their approach and their demeanor. They arrived on-time, listened attentively to what I wanted performed, asked questions for clarification on caulk color, and went about completing the work. The tubs, sinks and walls look absolutely beautiful. I will definitely use JT Contractors again. In fact, I requested an estimate for some interior painting and I look forward to enjoying the results of that work as well.

It went well. It was good. They did their thing and finished it up. They said they would come in for their four hour special and It worked out well. I hired them for one additional hour which was the same rate as their big deal- four hour special. I was comfortable- they worked the whole time. Make sure they communicate their rates after the deal because I was kind of confused about that. It was like $55 per hour after that. But what they meant to say was $55 per person and that was a bit confusing. It was $ 110 when I thought it was going to be $55 for the additional hour. They need to be more upfront and straight about their pricing.

Not very good. A lot of misunderstanding. They guys were nice, but they did not clean up after the work. They worked an extra 10 minutes over, and they changed me and additional $55. I thought that was kind of excessive.
Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for $115 for 4 Hours of Drywall/Plaster Repair or One Room of Paint. They brought 2 guys for 2 hours each. It doesn't state anywhere when you buy the coupon w/in 3 months that they charge $150 to come back out. They also asked if they could use a newly purchased foam roller. I let them borrow foam roller. They then left their dirty paint brushes.

We bought their advertised deal of 4 hours plastering for $115.00. We originally asked that the work be done around July 27, but then learned that family would be visiting that week. We contacted JT and asked if there was any way they could come any earlier. The next day they informed us that they had a cancellation and they came out that day. Chuck and Richard were very friendly, very professional and kept us closely informed as work was being done. We had taken water in our family room and the repair people had to remove drywall to fix it. They re-installed drywall which we provided and then plastered the area PERFECTLY! Once it is painted you will never know it was repaired. The job took an additional hour for which we were charged the standard rate of $55.00 per hour per man, which we thought was fair. Very satisfied.

It was okay. It ended up being a lot more because they had to patch some crack in the plaster in the drywall. It was way more than I thought I'd spend. The work they did was alright, it was just a little expensive. And, they didn't end up cleaning much.

they sent 2 guys. They were very professional and did a good job, but it took all day. The hourly charge after the $115 Angie deal was $110 hour for the 2 men so it cost way over what I expected. They are based in Riverside IL so would use someone closer to my home in Orland Hills.

Emailed back quickly, and set up a convenient time. However, called an hour and a half early before scheduled time and said they were on their way. I hesitated (I had planned to get the areas ready before they came), but said okay I will be ready. Called back 2 minutes later and said they might go to a different job first and would call back and let me know. Did not call back. I had to call them, and they said they would be 2 hours later then originally scheduled. They came at that time. I had described the four jobs pretty clearly. Two of which had small 2x4s (12-15 inches) that needed to be put in to support drywall. Was told they only do drywall repair. Those small pieces would be extra. I ended up installing the 2x4s myself. They did the two easiest jobs that I could have done myself, the guy in charge (richie??) was professional but I felt I had to really push them to do what I needed help with. The other guy, the assistant was great. He ended up completely doing 3 of the jobs himself while the other guy mixed mud and cleaned buckets. There was no need for two guys. Oh, by the way, with two guys they only give you 2 hours, not 4 hours as ad said. That makes it hard to do multiple coats of drywall plaster as the coats need to dry (but they did do it). Another reason 1 guy would have been better. For positives, they did give me a solid 2 hours. Their work was competent. The price even at 2 hours was excellent. The assistant, if he had his own company would be my go to guy, went above and beyond. They did not bring with them (even if I had to pay for it would have been fine, but ended up having to run out with 2 kids in tow) 2x4s, or corner beads for drywall. This seems pretty standard for general contractors. To sum, they did competent work at a great price. I did feel I had to ride them to do what I needed done first. Professional, but make sure you are clear on every little detail, and write on contract that you do not authorize any additional time as the rate goes way up.
Description of Work: Fixed 2 small areas, and left me to do the harder ones.

Do not buy 'deals' like this. They are misleading and I am very unhappy. The "Big Deal" said $115 for 4 Hours of Drywall/Plaster Repair or One Room of Paint (up to 250 sq feet) It also state one color per room two coats per wall. and it also said "contractor will provide basic materials such as drywall mud/spackle and dry wall tape." First -- THEY DID NOT DO TWO COATS PER WALL and now I have to paint the room again myself so why did I hire them? . I provided Glidden white paint to be painted over a light lilac. I assumed 4 hours labor for one room slightly more than half their maximum for the deal, would allow time for two coats since the "Deal" was for two coats in one room, I assumed they would provide one man for four hours which would provide ample time for two coats. Instead they sent TWO men for TWO hours (and part of that time was spent going in and out to their truck and washing their tools with MY water!) Their DEAL said two coats up to 250 square feet and they barely finished one coat in 150 sq feet ! With only 15 minutes left they still hadn't painted a first coat on one whole wall! They told me that they painted two coats on the closet wall (an area about 12 inches x 5 feet) and it is obvious they did not. They moved as slow as molasses and started the clock (literally) at 8:57 then went outside to unload their truck. They quit at 8:46 to clean up and load the truck. How much clean up and loading is required for one small room? BTW the room was totally empty and I provided a ladder! Second they charged me an additional $10 to do a light finishing coat of mud over a t-cup size hole that I had already spackled! I thought they "will provide basic materials such as drywall mud/spackle' NOT! I had already spackled all the marks and nail holes myself. They informed me that additional hours were at $55.00 per hour per man ! At the rate they painted it would have cost me a minimum of $220 to finish this room ! So my $115 DEAL would have cost me $345 ! for ONE 150 square foot room! And they didn't even tape the baseboards or anything so what did they do for two hours besides hold a blow dryer to the t-cup size hole to dry the extra spackle I PAID FOR! I am 60 years old with arthritic knees and have painted and wallpapered my homes over the last 40 years MANY TIMES but due to my knees it is very difficult to do a ladder now so I decided to "treat" myself and have someone else paint it. I spent two days on the ladder removing the ceiling border, wallpaper paste and then sanding and spackling. If I would have known how this would turn out.....I would have just painted the room myself. Which, by the way, I did paint it the light lilac two years ago so I know what it takes to finish this room. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED - felt I wasted my money and WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND JT GENERAL CONTRACTOR TO ANYONE! As far as I'm concerned they used the Deal to put me in a position to pay for the hours to finish the room which I could not do because I recently lost my job. I will try Angies List for one more service and if it isn't an excellent deal with an excellent outcome, I might as well just go on google and choose the first contractor that comes up because, in this case, using angies list didn't help me at all. Hello, Sorry to hear that you were un happy. The service was repairs and painting. These coupons are based on time. Repairs take some time depending on coats and drying. Even a small repair becomes much larger when you feather it in to the area. Both men worked efficiently doing repairs and paint work. The paint was white over a lilac color which in itself would need additional coats, and the customer purchased a very low grade paint that did not cover well. Cut-in was done two times and you could still see the old color thru the paint. The coupon is good towards one service plaster repairs or paint, but because the repair was smaller area they tried to accommodate and service the customer as best as possible. Additional time was required to do more work, and a better paint product would have helped.
