Response from J T General Contracting
Hello, This was not a ceramic tile category. (Remove member name) bought a caulk coupon, and was rather difficult to schedule with. He explained working out of town that he could only be available on a certain Saturday which we did accommodate. The caulk work was in fact prep work for a painter, and he requested us to caulk several locations of baseboard trim. This is not what the coupon was for, but we did complete several areas as discussed with owner. He also requested that I install an electrical box on the exterior to relocate a low voltage lighting supply that was incorrectly wired. I agreed to install and repair wiring and a GFIC location for power to the low voltage. After completion, I checked that all was working and correct. 1 month later I received an email that I needed to check circuit because it was not working. I replied, to ask if he had reset the GFIC or checked the breaker power, because all worked properly. He said he didn't know and expected my work to be properly done and that I needed to come that week to repair. I explained to him that I do stand by my work, but if there was an additional issue not caused by my fault, there would be a service charge for coming out. Upon coming out, and checking GFIC outlet circuit and lighting all was working properly, Showing his wife, we discovered that there was a timer issue set by the owner improperly. We are not responsible for mal-adjusted settings that we did not have anything to do with. He was charged a service call fee for travel and time which was adjusted lower to accommodate, and didn't feel responsible to pay service call. If he would have checked closer, there would have been no reason for us to go there and re-check work and circuit that was properly working. Thanks for reading, JT
