J T General Contracting

During two trips, JT General removed wallpaper glue from the walls of a 9 x 12 kitchen, patched and prepared the plaster for painting and replaced a large section of kitchen ceiling with wallboard and also prepped that for painting (I used another contractor for painting). Given the condition of the 100-year-old walls, they did an excellent job, and the ceiling patch is seamless. They did recommend redoing the entire ceiling, but for the sake of my aged father's health and welfare (and budget), we went with the midway job JT proposed.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. They arrived on time, performed as described and I was satisfied.

We did pay for an extra hour of work in addition to the deal. Everything looked new and fresh afterwards.

Repaired, replaced wallboard in master bath

Very neat and excellent work. We are having them back to continue with our remodeling project early next month.

They removed mold and old caulk around the kitchen sink and the bathtub, then recaulked both. They also repaired grout in a few spots and resealed the grout for the entire bathtub area. They did a great job. It all looked like new when they were done.

They arrived on-time and were polite and professional. They showed us what they were going to do and asked if we were happy when they were done and the tile looks like new. We were very pleased.

The work looked good right after the work was complete, but within 3-4 months the cracks started to show again. I've since had it repaired by another firm and after 8 months it still looks like new.

Repaired holes in plaster, smoothed out patches where we had filled in nail holes that turned out clumpy. The crew did a great job and I was very impressed by how clean they worked--they had a vacuum running the entire time! The plaster repair work required that they place a thin layer of drywall over the area where they tore out plaster. The work was seamless!

At one time I had wall paper on the wall and apparently all the glue had not be removed when we attempted to paint it quite a few years back which caused the paint to peel..getting this residue off the walls wass difficult. They had to keep sanding the areas before they could paint. However,the results were finally achieved and were able to paint the walls...looks great!

The provider took time to explain the job and gave justification for the cost. The workers were not intrusive, very professional, and cleaned up after them selves. Job was completed in two days.

Everything went well. The guys arrived on time and put down tarps to protect my floors and rugs as they walked around the house. They pulled out the old caulking and replaced it. I hadn't planned to have them do anything else, but JT convinced me that chem washing the tiles on the floor of the tiles would make them look better. He was right. These tiles are original to the house (1950's) and the chem washing made a big improvement. The work took exactly 2 hours, which was what my Deal had allowed for. The caulking looks great. I would use them for this again.

It was fine. They did a really nice job. They showed up when they said they would and they worked as long as they said they would. They worked hard and the quality of the work was really good. They did what they needed to have done, everything else I was going to do myself anyway. They were very professional. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again. Within hours of contacting them, they called back. They were here right on time.

It went fine. There was no additional charge. It was a pretty good experience. I would use this company again.

he did a great job, and did it well

It turned out great. I had additional costs. They just did a real good job. I know there were a lot of holes in that room. The price was reasonable.

They were wonderful. They did a great job. They were able to get me in quickly like the same week. I had to pay an extra $200 because it took like four hours of work and two guys. They did exactly what they committed to do and the work was very professional. The guys were very professional. I guess the price was reasonable. They stuck to exactly what they estimated it to be. I would use them again.

They did what we contracted for. However, there was an additional area that involved less than 3 inches of dry wall repair that would have taken 5 to 10 minutes to complete, that the gentlemen refused to attempt to repair. They had about 10 minutes left under the contract, but they said they couldn't do it. That was disappointing, but what can you say? That left me with a negative impression. The work they did was done well.

As far as the work itself, did a good job, but JT is very unprofessional. I requested an estimate for more work I need to have done over a week ago and I haven't heard from him

I paid $99 for 4 hours of one man's work. The company came with two men so they would only work for two hours for the $99 fee. It took them 3 and 1/2 hours. They did put on two coats of paint . The room size is 10 by 12 feet. The paint job did not include the ceiling. All lamps, the nightstand, and pictures had all been removed. They moved the bed, dresser, and TV amoire and also removed the vertical blinds. They also returned all furniture to proper locations and reinstalled the blinds. Because they went over the time paid for in advance, I had to pay another $150---so my total fee was $250. They did a good job, but this was more money than I expected to pay. Thus in the future I will not sign up for a time-limited offer. I thought they would be finished in less time. I have no complaint about the quality of their work.

The service was fine. They were on time and they did the job that they were asked to do. The work turned out good but I spent more than the big deal.

Scheduling was a little tricky, but it came together. The results are professional looking and I have no complaints. Would have no issue using them again.
