J T General Contracting

JT Contractors did an outstanding job! They sent two men to my home--one tackled restoring the grout. I thought this would be near impossible--given how dark the grout had become. Within an hour, the grout had been restored to within about 95% of the original color--plus, he resealed it for me. The other guy was able to work in the shower/tub, where he tore out and redid all of the corner and base caulk. He did a very thorough and quality job. As this firm does general contracting, I would consider them for other future jobs around our house.

First of all, I want to commend Richard & Chuck for being skilled, prompt, pleasant & professional! After I showed them around, explaining what I was hoping to have repaired, Richard explained what steps they would take and asked for my input. They both set to work, quietly and efficient, and asked for my approval whenever there was a decision point. I really appreciate the excellent work they did, and just as importantly, the decency they both showed to me. I would highly recommend them, and will use the services of JT General Contracting in the future.

The appointment was for 9. Richard and Chuck arrived 9:10. Being a crew of two, the offer purchased changed to 2 man-hours). I was advised that if they went over the two hours, it would be an additional $50 per hour. The work began at 9:12. They patched six areas in our front room, kitchen/dining room, and bathroom. They were very polite and focused on the work. The areas were kept clean and orderly. The front room had two areas, 3"x10". The kitchen had two areas, 3"x10". The bathroom had two areas, 4"x8". They used a mesh tape, two coats of plaster which were heated and dried between coats. Each area was sanded and vacuumed. I was surprised when Richard said there was a charge for their materials. The coupon from Angie's List stated: "basic materials such as drywall mud/spackle and drywall tape" were included. However maybe the plaster and mesh tape are different items. Very pleased with the work done.

The gentlemen who came out to complete the work were extremely polite and knowledgeable and were promptly on time. They explained the pricing ahead of time for any work that would be completed beyond what was allowed in the Big Deal Coupon. The caulking looks great and they went above and beyond to provide excellent service and were very professional. I recommend their services. In addition, they were accommodating with returning calls to get a date scheduled for the work.

Everything turned out fine and they did a great job according to my expectations. It took them awhile to get something scheduled, it seemed like they were pretty busy. He was very accommodating to try to fit me into his schedule and flexible. There were two people here doing the work and it took about 5 hours to complete. The grout was a lot cleaners than it was before so I was happy with it.

After some scheduling issues, (did not show originally scheduled date), the work was completed. The work was excellent and staff professional. Would recommend J T General Contracting!

Big Deal was for 4 hrs of drywall work @ $99. I had a 4x4 wall area that was damaged and needed to be repaired before the roomt could be repainted. The two men who came did an excellent job within the time set in the Big Deal. The work was done in time for the room to be repainted and ready for furniture was moved back into the room. (Great work. Very professional and wonderful attention to detail for such a small job. It was a cold and damp day and they made sure the 'mud' was cured to be ready for painted. They also provided a 'consult' on a couple of small items which needed to the attended to in another room within the time provided for in the Big Deal.)

The service turned out good. There was nothing great, nothing bad. They had to come back and so we paid and additional 50 Dollars.

It went very well! They showed up on time and worked very quickly. The work was completed in what seemed like only minutes, and it looks great. I only wish I needed more caulking work.

The service responded right away. they arrived as schedule. They were professional. The job took a bit longer than they thought it would, and the rate after the initial 4 man hours was more than double the rate of the special, so the total with about 6 man hours was $250+ dollars. I have no complaints, except that I didn't realize the much higher rate for subsequent hours until it was over. I encouraged the owner to make that extra clear up front next time.

I’m waiting on a good time to have the work done. They’ve been accommodating to my schedule. The communication with them via email has been good and responses are usually received within a day. I can’t wait to have the work done.

Everything went fine. Scheduling went great and they showed up on time and finished in a timely manner. There were two people here doing the work and they were finished in about an hour. The results were excellent.

My experience was just okay. They were a little slow at getting the job done and I had to pay more than I anticipated. The work they did was good and scheduling was easy.

My wife is very happy with the work that they did. We had a pipe that leaked through our ceiling and they had to cut it out fix it. They took care of the other spots where water had gone. They were very professional and very conscientious of the money. They made it clear that it was going to take over two hours to do the job, so it was going to cost more. They made everything clear. They cleaned up perfectly. We could not have done a better job. I would use them again.

The two workers were professional and did a good job cutting out the hole into a shape they could patch (about 8 inches by 8 inches). then they patched it up with replacement drywall and smoothed over the seam with compound. Very smooth. They took care to vacuum as they were sanding down the joints as well, so no mess left behind. Only downside of an hourly rate is there's a fair amount of time they have to wait for the compound to dry before putting on the next coat. As a result, they have to use a heat gun to dry it. Didn't make the results bad, but it is something that you would just let sit for an hour or so and do something else while it dries.

I was VERY pleased with the results. As I continue to work on my basement remodeling, I will have them come back and mud/tape those walls as well.

Took 2 painters 3 hours to paint a nine by six bathroom. They had to spackle over 3 small nail holes, but they had a blow dryer and dried that quickly. They did not even have to paint the ceiling! They took an extra hour so I to pay $50 extra...PER painter. I don't know...when I was well, I could paint that bathroom in two hours by myself. The painters were nice and cleaned up nicely, but I do not think it should have taken that long...especially without having to paint the ceiling or fix any damage. Just sayin.

I asked them to re-caulk around the bathtub and to re-caulk one area in the kitchen it was straight across the back of the counter. And to put a clear silicone around the sink. It took them longer than they thought. The gentleman working in the kitchen was done within an hour. But could not help the gentleman in the bathroom who was struggling to do the caulking correctly. He took it upon himself to caulk all the edges of my tile up to the ceiling over the grout. Because it's a small bathroom the other gentleman couldn't help him and he ran over the two hours. And then they tried to charge me for the extra time.

I am pleased with the results and would do it again. However, the first thing they requested was to sign a form saying additional work would be $100 per hour. I have no idea how long it would take to clean existing grout and regrout. In 4 hours they recaulked the tub. Nice job. But no grout work. Next time I'll first get a proper quote for all the work that's needed.

We had a little problem connecting their schedule and our schedule back and forth. I was trying to get it done in a particular date. Between us, we couldn't get it to work out. But we eventually got them scheduled. They came, they did the work and they did fine. I added $25 for the grouting around the kitchen sink. Two guys came. The deal was for one guy for four hours or two guys for two hours. Two guys came and what we had was a lot of yucky thing that goes between the edge of the bathtub and the edge of the shower. There was nothing bad. The problem with the scheduling was not any real problem with them or with me. We just couldn't coordinate. The man was so personable the whole time that we were having the difficulty with scheduling. We got it worked out. They came and both of the guys were extremely pleasant to work with. They came, did their work and put down tarps so that they weren't tracking stuff from the bathroom out or stuff into the bathroom. They were very professional and I appreciated that. I was very comfortable with them. I thought the price was quite good. They were very good.

It went very well and I would recommend them. We have to coordinate for the schedule so they could come out in a timely enough manner for me. I paid another 50$ for the extra work that I needed to have done. The quality of service is very good and I would use them again.

The contractors arrived on time and easily explained what they were going to do and made sure we were in agreement with the proposed work to be done. They immediately went to work, making sure the area was properly protected. They asked for my approval on certain tasks to make sure we agreed. When the job was done their clean up was thorough. They were very professional and informative, giving me helpful hints to avoid problems in the future. I would definitely use them again and plan to call them back in the Spring.
