They were on time, friendly, and efficient. The work only took an hour or two. There was no mess left behind. The only minor disappointment was that they said they had taken pictures of the work performed and would email them to us, which never happened.

I purchased a deal from Angie's list. I called and made an appointment. Magdan arrived on time and replaced the old attic fan with a new solar fan. They also did a roof inspection. They said the only problem with the roof was a small hole that birds had made to get inside the attic. He took a picture of it and showed it to me and quoted a price. I told them I would contact them if I needed them to fix the hole. Several months later, I emailed Magdan to fix the hole and to see if the estimate would remain the same. I never received a reply back. I have since had another Angie List member fix the hole.

Dan spoke to me on the phone and made an appointment to come out reasonably quick. He did stop over and inspected the roof and gutters. After the inspection he went over some details and also gave an estimate of the work needed and recommended. I just wanted some minor repair until I could afford the proper and complete job needed but due to the nature of my problem and desire to hold off for financial reasons he advised me accordingly and suggested I request a refund at this time and get back to him when I could get the proper work completed(and afforded). He was very courteous and took the time to discuss my options after explaining the condition of the roof and gutters.

I called Magdan Home Improvement to set up an appointment. A few hours later one of the guys answering the phone (maybe his name was Dan) set up a time and day to come over to our house to scout it about two days after our initial call. The same guy came over to our home at the appointed day and time and my wife told me he was overall professional and said he would get us an estimate in the next day or so. We waited about a week and there was no estimate forthcoming. At this time, we tried to call them twice and and also left voicemails. It is going on over four weeks from the initial call to the company and there has never been any response from them. We were extremely disappointed in the (un)responsiveness of this contractor. Obviously, some companies are just not that interested in good business for themselves or anyone else much less customer service.

I spoke to Dan, one of the owners, to schedule the service each time.The first time I tried to schedule the service, the Magdan people simply didn't turn up. He had told me they would call the night before to confirm the appointment and then 30 minutes before arriving but neither of these things happened. I was pretty much stuck in the house all day. When I called him the next business day he was surprised to hear than no one had turned up. We rescheduled but had to cancel that appointment (by mutual agreement) because the outdoor temperatures were too high. We rescheduled again for a week later and he told me he would call me the previous evening to confirm. He didn't do that, but called that morning, at 8am when I was out exercising. I returned the call to confirm the appointment was still OK 10 minutes after he left his voice mail, but no one turned up. I called again at mid day and he said no one had come as I hadn't answered the call at 8am. We agreed to reschedule for the afternoon. During the afternoon he called to say they wouldn't be able to make it, but they could come the next morning between 7.30am and 8am. , At 8.15am he called to say that his men had arrived and couldn't understand what needed to be done, so they had spoken to Angie's List who couldn't find the order. They hadn't arrived at my house, so had either been somewhere else or this was a story. He himself seemed uncertain as to what service I had purchased at this point and whether or not I had an Angie's List voucher. When I spoke to Angie's List they were able to pull my order up immediately. At this point, I told Dan that I would prefer to cancel the service. (Not only was this getting highly irritating and impacting my ability to make plans, but just as importantly I wondered if their work was going to be as poor as their scheduling capabilities). He told me I would be able to get a refund from Angie's List, which I was able to do without any problems.

Responded to my phone call promptly and scheduled an estimate for some gutter replacement work. Very pleasant folks to deal with and very professional. The price sounded reasonable so we scheduled a work date. Arrived as scheduled and the work was completed promptly and efficiently and they cleaned up nicely. Later, after testing the gutters I noticed one downspout did not have enough of a downward angle from the gutter so water was pooling and leaking from a seam. I reported it and it was fixed promptly and everything works fine now. A few weeks later I was cleaning debris out of the gutters and noticed the brackets seemed to be installed adequately but not quite as neatly as the older sections of the gutter, i.e. some bent and protruding edges. Looked less than professional to me but not a concern since it was all out of sight. During one of the visits we discussed some possible repair to the underlayment of the vinyl siding and some masonry work. I was promised an estimate but never heard from anyone again. Miscommunication? Maybe. Overall they were pretty good and the installer worked hard and without delay. I can't complain. If all my experiences with contractors went this well the industry would have a much better reputation.

Daniel was extremely courteous and helpful over the phone, came out the very next day to inspect our gutters/downspouts. When he was running late he called to reschedule. Our copper downspout was stolen and he explained cost of replacement, suggested materials, and pricing. Though it was a relatively small job ,they were professional throughout. My parents are in their 80's and he was very patient with them explaining what needed to be done and the options available.A few days later everything was quickly and neatly installed. The crew left no debris behind as often occurs with other trades. I am extremely satisfied with their services.I would highly recommend them for any job you have big or small. Angelika

I purchased the Big Deal for gutter repair/replacement. I scheduled an appointment for April 2 and they were a no-show. I called, they apologized and rescheduled for 7:30 April 6. Guy shows up a bit late but is just talking - has no crew with him to get on roof and look at our gutter. Says he'll be back with crew at 2:00 that day. Never shows up and never calls us to reschedule. I'm not interested in chasing a company after I've already scheduled two appointments. I'll be writing Angie's List for a refund on my Big Deal.

They arrived exactly when scheduled, introduced themselves and then went to work. It took a very short time for the installation and the roof inspection. I THOUGHT the best outcome of this investment would be replacing the elderly, noisy fan with one that is virtually silent and uses no electricity--and that is wonderful--but the best outcome turned out to be the roof inspection. Our roof is a year old, so I wasn't expecting any surprises--but I had no idea that somewhere in my neighborhood is a critter who ( I am not making this up) gnawed a large hole in the lead flashing around one of the sewer vent pipes on the roof. No rainwater had yet seeped through my ceiling, but it was only a matter of time. The inspection turned out to be the most valuable part of the deal!!!

They were extremely nice, and they did an excellent job. They were very efficient; they figured out what was wrong and they fixed it. They were a little late, punctuality wise, although they did call to say they would be late. I would definitely use them again.

First the good news == the gentleman that came out was very courteous and professional. He installed the fan and, I believe, did an excellent job. After he installed the fan we walked the roof as part of the inspection. At no time did I feel like he was attempting to sell me a roof; which could be a tactic as part of a roof inspection. On the contrary, he pointed out some problem areas and suggested simple maintenance to prolong the longevity of the roof. We'd previously had an addition which required a new roof area. He shared his knowledge regarding the better and or worse roofing techniques of the different roofers. As a casual homeowner this is good information to ensure the better practices are followed next time. I wanted to rate this service an "A" but the back office support was a bit lacking. I had previously taken advantage of a number of Big Deals and the contractor usually contacts me after a short time. I was actually planning to contact them on 4/2 when, coincidentally, they called. I purchased the big deal on 3/6 and I was beginning to think they forgot about it. The gentlemen did have a good explanation in that several times the contact information for Big Deals is invalid and much time is spent chasing bad numbers. And for clarification, although almost a month later, they did contact me. And he came out that day and did a great job. Fast forward to after the job. I requested the paperwork for the job including the fan spec sheet for maintenance and warranty purposes. They sent the paperwork promptly. But the spec sheet was for many different types of fans so I could not tell the model number. They affixed a post-it with the serial number but the last digit was truncated. When I called to cross reference the model to serial number, learned the serial number probably did not match the fan installed. LONG STORY LONG == excellent craftsmen and honest. But paperwork is not their strength?

This was the easiest project! At first they were a little difficult to get a hold of, but after some phone tag they were responsive, professional and were even able to come out and install the fan while we were away. They did a great job and the whole thing was a really good deal. Very low stress!

So far everthing is working great and I was happy to hear via the check that I do not have an other issues I need to take care of. We played phone tag for a bit but once we connected they went out on the day expected and reattched the downspout.

Arranged to have our gutters looked at Adrian came out told us what was good and what needed to be replaced. Didnt try to sell us anything that we really didn't need,had him come out a second time,so i could look at the product explained to me going step by step what they were going to do how it would look and everything I needed to know. They came out and did a real nice professional looking job these guys were great didn't stop till I was fully satisfied

The work was done well, even though the fascia was not painted. This would certainly cost more.

They were very professional and courteous. They also clued me in that my chimney is falling apart and I thank them for that as well.

Everything went very good. They are very professional and friendly. They had suggested to use the exhaust fan instead of just vents since I already had electricity run up there. I decided on the solar powered exhaust fan because I was worried on how much power it would need.

Everything went great start to finish. We made contact and discussed our needs, they sent us a written quote for the parts and labor and a crew was out to my home installing our new attic fan in just a few days. The installers were friendly and professional.

They arrived on time, finished the work quickly, and seemed to have a solid understanding of what they were doing. We would use them again for future repair work.

Okay, with the siding. Not so great with the roof work or follow up. They are not good at calling you back or following up. We are having an issue with the roof repair they attempted to fix for us and I have called 3 times to Daniel, one of the owners. Still no response. I think they take bigger jobs and forget about the smaller ones.

I called them the same day to schedule the appointment. I’ve now called them on two occasions and both times I was promised a return call, but no one ever contacted me. They wouldn’t schedule me when I called them; both times they just wanted to contact me back. I’m now seeking refund from Angie’s List.

It went perfectly. They were on-time. First, they came out and gave the estimate. He found the problem and didn't try to sell me anything else. They were polite and efficient. It took them about two and half hours to complete the job. They were very clean too. There were no pieces or debris that was left. Everything they said they would do, it happened. I would recommend them to anyone and definitely would use their services in the future, if need be.

Everything was just awesome! The service provided by Magdan was impeccable. From the estimate right through the installation. I have never been happier with a service provider.

Had no issues, everything was completed as discussed, did some added repairs not discussed, price did not change. Very satisfied with work.
