The whole process was very smooth and I was very satisfied with the work performed. Mike and his team did an amazing job converting our drab green bedroom into a bright white space. The room is quite massive, with high, lofted ceilings and so I wasn't sure they would be able to finish everything in a day. I was pleasantly surprised that they finished all the walls (2 coats even!) within the eight hours. Having painted the first floor ourselves, we were amazed at the difference a professional paint job does vs. doing it yourself...and given the excellent price from the and quot;big dealand quot; and the discount having them buy the paint, it was a no-brainer. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for anyone looking for a good painter in the city.

In addition to Mike’s quote, we had 2 others. Mike’s quote was competitive with the others and given the favorable reviews that he received on Angie’s List we decided to go with him. Given schedules, Mike agreed to start the painting on a Friday and then come back 1 day (which turned out to be 2) the following week to complete the job. This worked well with our schedules and we were happy that Mike was accommodating and was willing to get started immediately. Overall Mike and his co-worker did a fantastic job!! Mike is a reliable, hard working tradesman. We have recently bought a new house and have had a number of trades people come to our house. Out of all of them, Mike has been the most professional, respectful and reliable. We felt that we got good value for what we paid. Mike was extremely meticulous, worked neatly, cleaned up and careful to ensure that the paint did not get on other areas. We appreciated this because not everyone is so thorough. Mike is an excellent painter! I would highly recommend Mike. The next time we need painting done, we will definitely ask him. Thank you Mike!

We had a WONDERFUL experience with MWW Painting and Wall Design and have already used them again! Before the painting started, I was uneasy about the color. Mike could see the worry in my face and graciously offered to go to the store and ask them to darken the shade for me. I was 8 months pregnant, so this was a huge help! They did a great job with the room and the color is perfect. The bathroom sink vanity also turned out great. Mike was so nice to use his own primer for the job and get the right kind of paint for me. My husband and I have nothing to say but wonderful things about MWW Painting and Wall Design, we're so glad we found them!

I bought the big deal. Mike was very responsive, great to work with and actually worked to finish the job ratheer than just quick at 8 hours. He worked hard, cleaned up after himself and did an excellent job. We were very impressed and I would recommend him to anyone. He's a fair guy with a fair price who does great work. Thanks Mike!

We had tenants living in our condo, and when we were getting estimates for work it was really important to us that contractors could get in on the ONE day that we had asked our tenants to allow us in the unit. We were also on a crunch on the other end, because we would have access to the condo for two weeks and wanted all work done before we moved in at the end of that time period. That said, I sent MWW a request for an estimate, and he replied within 24 hours. He was also able to come out that very week to give me an estimate. He was very candid about what he felt was realistic to do--we weren't planning to have the trim and doors done, but when he showed us why it would be difficult to get clean, straight lines without the trim, we were sold. He was very thorough, and also walked us through what areas of the walls they would be able to patch and fix, and what wouldn't be realistic fixes. He looked at the color swatches that we had and made some crucial comments--for one, he recommended that we go slightly lighter because the space was small and had lots of shadows. We went a shade lighter and the space looks like it is the color we originally chose--Mike was spot-on. He also cautioned us against trying to match the color of the current trim with a paint chip--it was kind of refreshing to have that much honesty about what he was willing to recommend. Some of the others had said, "Oh yeah, you could match it, that'd be fine." Mike wasn't willing to say that without a remnant can or full information about the color, which we didn't have. I felt like this expectation management was really great. We received muZltiple bids. Mike's was competitive, though it did not include paint, which made us nervous. But with the Angie's List discount (10%), the reviews on Yelp and Angie's List, and his approach when he gave us the estimate, we felt confident choosing MWW. We emailed him and said we wanted to hire him. He was available to start when we hoped and was patient as we asked numerous questions over the course of the next week about recommended type of paint, using his account and discount, etc. At the last minute we added our bathroom to the job. Mike was really good about walking through with our colors and making sure that we were clear on what we wanted to do where (there were some complexities). It took them three days to finish the job, which made us happy because he had estimated 3-4 days. Mike and Artur were there every day, although I think that Artur was there on his own for much of it. They were both very nice and willing to communicate. They were patient when we nitpicked about lines being straight--unfortunately, fixing that was a bit out of their purview since there were a lot of layers of bumpy paint and finish underneath. If Mike wasn't there at the end of the day, he always called to check in and ask about the work. If he was there, we walked through the space together and he answered questions or agreed to make adjustments. He never made me feel like we were being bothersome or obnoxious.Mike also gave a REALLY good estimate of how much paint would be needed. This alone saved us about $100 compared to the other bids that we received that included the cost of paint. We had to buy one additional gallon in the middle of the project, but because we used Mike's account number it was really easy for Artur just to call and get it, buy it, and we added that on to the final amount. The overall and complete experience was positive. I feel pretty confident that we would use MWW again. But I also want to share a few relatively minor things that we encountered that made the experience not 100% satisfactory. At the time that I requested the estimate, MWW was running a Big Deal for one painter for a day. When Mike provided the estimate he said that he planned on two painters for three, possibly four, days. Because of this, we worried that one painter wouldn't be able to do the job in the amount of time that we needed (four days or less) so we skipped the Big Deal. Once the work began, however, it seemed like Mike was juggling a lot of other jobs simultaneously, and often there was only one painter on site at a given time. I think we could have saved a bit of money if we had purchased the Big Deal to cover one of the days. I do think good work is worth paying for, so it's not a huge gripe, we just happen to be on a tight tight budget.Because Mike seemed to have a lot on his plate all at once, they decided that they couldn't make a fourth day work, and were intent to finish in three. I think he had another job to start right away. As a result, I think some of the work was done a bit too hastily. I want to be clear that the work is NOT poorly done, and it looks great, but there were a couple of indicators that make me think more time could have been taken. These things became apparent once we went through the unit to clean it and prep for move-in, and after living in the space for a few weeks. 1.) All the faceplates were replaced at the end of that third day--so they have set a bit into the paint, which remained soft and slightly tacky for a few days. 2.) The floor had a surprising amount of paint dust and smears, and in every room there are areas on the floor that have some paint splotches. The stuff that I noticed the first day, when I went in to mop and clean, was easy enough to get up, but some has set. We have parquet, so it is kind of a pain to have so much dust and then splotches that I had to scrape up. They weren't HORRIBLE and I might not have noticed if I had just moved my furniture in, but in retrospect I would have liked more full-floor coverage with drops and plastic. 3.) There are some areas that were done a bit sloppily. The first time we opened the dishwasher we saw that there is a large gap where you can see the old paint--they didn't open the dishwasher when painting to be sure that there was full coverage for all the visible parts. When it's closed you can't see, but on the wall, the width of the dishwasher door, is the old wall color. There are also some places were there are drips of wall color on the white trim. Would I recommend MWW? Yes. They were very nice and responsive. And, other than what i mentioned, the work really is beautiful. Especially gratifying was how both Mike and Artur told us how much they liked our colors and liked the way the rooms worked together as a palette. I do recommend them and think it's worthwhile to ask Mike frankly how many painters will definitely be there each day, and have an extra day for you to walk through and look at stuff to see if there is anything that you would like touched up, corrected, or cleaned up.
Description of Work: I really wish that I could qualify the grade I am giving, so please do read my full review because while I definitely think it was an "A" experience, there were some minor things that I made note of. MWW Painters painted our entire 1 BR condo (800 SF), including trim, doors, kitchen, and bathroom.

see above. I am very, very pleased with the outcome.
Description of Work: Mike and his partner painted a bedroom in my home. I had communicated with him via email and he was always very prompt and complete with his responses. They showed up ontime and immediately went to work on the room. They brought all their own equipment, including a large fan and shopvac and made sure not to disrupt my other living space as much as possible. They ran out of wall paint at one point and thankfully, Mike went to the closest EPCO paint store while his partner continued working. Mike needed to patch some areas of the room's walls and did so. He did an excellent job patching what needed to be patched explaining why some of the areas needed patching. Mike and his partner did an excellent job with the closet, trim, ceiling and most importantly the walls. I am extremely happy with the outcome.

Amazing experience! I live in Oregon and needed to get our condo in Chicago painted so this whole transaction was conducted long distance. I chose MWW based on Angie's List reviews. When Mike got to our 1,400 sq foot condo he discovered that our previous tenants had painted most of the walls navy blue, the bathroom red, dripping paint everywhere and if that wasn't enough they had drawn large murals with sharpies on the bedroom walls. We had two days to get it ready for our new tenants. I was sort of panicked. Mike was able to cover all of the mess the tenants had created, paint the walls, the baseboards, the doors , all the hallways. closets, etc in 2 days, sending me pictures and online copies of paint receipts (which i hadn't requested) along the way. The finished job is beautiful and he was a total delight to work with. Seriously, don't hesitate to hire him.

I highly recommend Mike for painting services. I used him from a Special Offer I purchased on Angie's List. I didn't know anything about him, and I was extremely pleased by the results. When I called to book the appointment, he was extremely responsive and followed up with me to book a date. He then called the night beforeour booked date to confirm the appointment and showed up on time. He was extremely careful in moving furniture and protecting the pieces in the bedroom. He took great care to cover everything that stayed in the bedroom. He was meticulous in his work and very neat. When the job was completed, he put everything back in place, and the room looked fabulous. In the past, I have had very careless painters who weren't neat or respectful of my furniture. Mike took great pride in his work and it showed. I will use him for future projects without any reservation.

Mike did an excellent job. I took advantage of a Big Deal - $229 for 8 hours. It was the first time I used MWW, and purchased the Big Deal based on existing reviews for MWW. Mike was on time. I provided the paint and stain and he brought everything else. He removed window treatments from 3 windows and reinstalled them when he was finished. He took a lot of time to properly prep the windows. He made sure to protect my floors. I am very pleased with the results. He still needs to come back to do some light carpentry - installation and staining of wood stops around 3 of the windows. He measured and told me what I need to buy. He also needs to varnish the 4 stained windows. Somehow I overlooked the varnish when picking up paint and stain, even though I had written it down when we spoke on the phone in advance of the project. Since it was so hot and humid yesterday, he couldn't have done the varnishing anyway as the stain needed to dry. I would definitely hire MWW again for other painting projects.

. Connected with Michal of MWW Painting through an Angie's List special (8 hours of painting for $225.) Made a date for the scraping, priming and painting of a bathroom with peeling paint, as well as some detail work on our entryway. He would provide everything but the paint. He called the day before to confirm, arrived at 8 AM as agreed on, and worked through the day, taking a brief break for lunch. His work is meticulous, and I couldn't be more pleased. I plan to hire Michal again, and feel that I got more than my money's worth. He was intelligent, responsive, and focused. I would recommend Michal Wisniewski without reservation

I moved into a new place complete with multiple shades of yellow, peach and lime green trim on the walls...all in semi-gloss. Needless to say, it wasn't quite to my taste and I was in dire need of a painter! Mike of MWW was quick to respond to my call for help, came out to do an estimate within 24 hours and provided a competitive bid. He was able to squeeze my week long job in almost immediately even though it was their busy season. Mike and his crew came on time every day and were able to complete the job in a week - it was a big job considering all the prep work and the fact that they had to prime and paint every surface in the place. Mike was in communication every day to let me know how they were progressing and when they would arrive the next day. Each day I came home it was like a gift to see a new wall painted. They did a great job, finished on time and cleaned up well after the job was done. Mike also helped put up some new bathroom hardware and remove/reinstall a new chandelier. I love my new walls! I would highly recommend Mike and the crew at MWW for any job.

I initially called MWW to come out and provide a quote for the services needed. When he came out he was very personable, and provided an emailed quote within 2-3 days. I felt the quote was more reasonable than the other 2 contractors that I also received estimates for the same work. They started work on-time, and worked throughout the 3 days it took to complete the job. I was more undecided on the stain and paint colors than I was on this contractor. Once I saw their work by the end of the first day I was very impressed. After the job has been completed, my doors are beautiful, I tend to stare at them when I walk by them. The painting done was immaculate; I have no complaints. I will definitely use them in the future, well worth the price.
Description of Work: Mike and his employee (sorry can't remember his name) stained and sealed 7 oak doors, painted my front door, repainted all of my interior door trims, and extensively repaired drywall in my hallway and kitchen in addition to repainting these areas.

EXTERIOR STAIR PAINTING: In May-June to clean, scrape and paint our two backstair cases and porches (all wooden structure). This job on the stairways was completed on June 1st. We are very satisfied with the work. It was thorough, careful, complete and of no inconvenience to any of the tenants. The MWW company power washed the stairs, porches, and the brick walls. They left everything clean and as tidy as possible. They used drop cloths everywhere necessary and took the time at the end of each work day to fold and neatly pile the cloths and their equipment. They were very accurate with estimating the amounts of paint they would need. The personnel of MWW are courteous and friendly. They keep in touch with the job every day and I never had a long wait getting a call back from Mike W. Our cost was exactly as they bid it in the estimate: $1800.00. I recommend them. Letitia C. . .
Description of Work: During April of 2012, we had the MWW Painting and Home Design Company to our small (8 unit) apartment building in Chicago IL. There was a good bit of detail required in this job because of a set of storage lockers dividing the room and several pipes for gas and water distribution located above these lockers and below the sinks. We also had the windows covered with plastic for winter insulation. The painters had to take it down. They moved out the washers and dryers to reach areas behind them. The mechanical doors were pretty straight forward and carefully finished so no sticking along the door jambs occurred. All was done in a professional way. Early arrival in the mornings with careful setup of drop cloths and ladders accommodated the tenants. The work was completed in a little more than two and a half days. It was a delight to experience the completed job -clean, fresh and no paint dripped where it isn't wanted. We are very pleased with the quality and value of the work. This is an excellent crew. We would hire them again.
Description of Work: We have a laundry room in our 8-unit apartment building. We have two outside metal entrance doors to our boiler/ mechanical room. We asked for an estimate on the painting of each of these. We settled on MWW Painting Co.. for both jobs. The work on the laundry room included coating of two iron sinks with epoxy paint to match the color chosen for the walls.

Out bid everyone else and is a bargain for the quality work he does. Plaster repairs were glass smooth. Great paint job with precise, straight lines between colors. Couldn't find a nicer guy to have in your house. I had a contractor here for another job who saw his work and commented himself how well everything was painted. I'm having him back to paint 2 more rooms and stain a 3 story porch.

After completing my electrical repairs I hired MWW Painting to fix and repaint the walls and ceilings of my bathroom and living room. MWW was highly recommended to me by my electrician. Mike and his staff were punctual, professional and very friendly. He offered me a very reasonable estimate for the work that needed to be done. I was very pleased with his wall repairs and dry wall work. His painting services were excellent. My living room and bathroom look like new! I would definitely recommend Mike and his team to anyone interested in a full wall service professional.

I hired Mike last summer to paint the entire inside of my house and was very pleased with the job he did. So this time, I did not hesitate to hire him for a second project. As usual he was prompt, courteous, and professional. He showed up on time and spent the time to thoroughly review the work at hand. He made recommendations that I did not think of which turned out great. It was determined that some carpentry would be needed and Mike did that work as well! Who knew he was such a good carpenter? What a bonus. Mike listens to what you expect, and the result is a very professional job. He wants you to be satisfied when he is finished. I plan to hire him again in the future and would definitely recommend him.

MWW Painting did a great job patching cut out holes that were made for electrical work and then painting to match existing kitchen paint colors. Mike was able to complete the job in a timely manner and work is flawless. I would definitely use this company again for future painting and drywall work.
