Astro Insulation

The installers were fantastic and did a wonderful job. In fact, the installers actually removed some of the old insulation that the insulation removal crew had left behind. The only real qualm I had was with the scheduling - they canceled or re-scheduled a couple of times and at one point apparently had us scheduled for a date but failed to tell us (I would not have known if I hadn't happened to call them). In short, the service was fantastic, but the planning/logistics left a bit t be desired.

They told me the smell would go away in 1-2 days but it has not gone away after a week. I have developed a severe allergy and cannot go near the insulation. I have had to sleep several nights at a friend?s house. UPDATE: Astro agreed to remove the insulation. Now I have received emails that they will not remove the insulation. I plan on opening a legal claim against them UPDATE: Astro did not do anything to improve this situation. It is winter time so the smell has gone away for now. I had a verbal agreement with this company that they will be waiting until hot weather returns, and if the smell returns they will remove the insulation. Unfortunately, they have have put insulation underneath the ventilator fan, so I am not able to pull out board in the cold weather, and I am getting cold air in my bedroom. They also put a lot of insulation on my door, so I am unable to open it anymore because it is heavy foam insulation. But when it is windy the door opens itself and the cold air enters my attic and bedroom. The company that provided the insulation, and an Astro representative came to my house and took samples of the insulation. When they took the samples the smell was obvious. I never received the results of the test. If I wanted to get the test done myself it would cost me $1300.00. We had a verbal agreement, that when the weather is going to hot, that if I continue to have the smell that they will remove the insulation, but they did not follow the verbal agreement. Just recently received a letter, and now there is a lein on my house. I think they are liars. They presented this insulation as green, it absolutely is not. I spoke with some other people out of town that used the same insulation, and they said they had the same issues, so the company agreed to remove the insulation and refund the money. I would never hire than again.

They charged $2 a square foot. They were very professional and the crew who did the work were very professional and courteous.

They did a great job! They measured everything before they gave me an estimate. Jeremiah, the person I worked with, gave me the estimate very quickly. For the actual work, they cleaned up everything. They made sure that everything is well-ventilated. They just did a great job all around.

Excellent, they were helpful and courteous ( and funny) Cleaned up well, did it when they said they would and charged what they quoted.

We found this company thru Angies list. They were on time for the estimate and for the actual job. The pricing was fair, work done properly. We will use them for future projects and we will refer them to friends and family.

I had a serious problem and expressed my concern to them as I have an unusual attic space. They do not interrupt the airflow from the socket. When I went in to the room to check what was going on, I saw them filling up everything. The moment I walked in I saw them covering the socket, because of which I was upset and he asked them to fill it up. I then convinced the workers to open up the socket to the exit and they did 3 channels and covered the ceiling. I spoke to the company and then they removed the ridge from outside and replaced the fiber matts. It couldn’t be any more reasonable. They didn’t charge me anything for the remediation. It was done in a reasonable amount of time and they were pleasant throughout. I wished there would have been no concerns initially and they handled it professionally.

Installers arrived on time and completed work neatly. Spray foam went in the first day then another crew came and installed the blown insulation in the attic the next day. Both crews were polite and worked steadily until the job was finished, about 1/2 day for each job. I would use them again for any future insulation needs.

They were very good. They did a good job, and I was happy with the services they gave me. I would use them again if I needed to.

Overall it went very well. Our schedule was all amok with the construction and Jay was very flexible and accomodating. He came out several times to complete the job (in several phases). Professional and very responsive to our questions.

I've been experiencing significant drafts coming from an attic crawl space at one end of my home. The drafts were so bad that cold air was coming down interior walls and blowing out of outlets and other open cavities. The roofline above this area is detailed with dormers and many angles. My architect specified polyurethane foam insulation, but the builder was against it for cost reasons, and he was inexperienced at installing foam insulation so batts were installed instead. After one year of living with this problem, I contacted Astro for an opinion. They were recommended by my architect, but I also checked their reviews on Angie's List. J Stack came out and assessed the situation. The fiberglass batts were not properly installed for a detailed roof line, and he offered two options to fix. One was a blown in Rockwool which was less expensive, but given the extent of the issue, I decided to proceed with the foam polyurethane option. The estimates were provided promptly and in a professional manner. J. Stack explained in detail how Astro would protect the can lights and other mechanicals that I had in the crawl space area. The work was done as promised, and I was very pleased with the professionalism of the workers. They were wearing protective gear during the process, which took about 5 hours, and they cleaned the area well after the work was completed. The affect of the insulation was almost immediate. The drafts were completely plugged.

Contacted Astro Insulation from a reference. Representative came to the house and did a THOROUGH inspection of the job to be completed. Installers came a few days later and were completed in about 1-1/2 hours. Astro definitely needs to be on your to- call list!

Excellent. Scott from Astro showed up on time, and took the estimate. He didn't try any sales pitch, or push any unneeded products, or try to get unneeded work. Just straight up honest. Price was right too. Workers also arrived on time. They were in and out. No mess, no stress. I would recommend Astro in the future.

They were recommended to me by a contractor and they were very good. One of their machines broke down and it took them longer than they expected but I can't hold that against them. They did a good job cleaning up after themselves.
