Petmecky Tree Service

I described the problem were are facing and asked that they come out to assess the situation and develop a plan.. The individual who answered the phone told me that they did not provide that service.

I got an estimate which was valid for a year. About ten months later I contacted them to set up a time to get it done. They said they could do it the next day but I wasn’t ready so they said to call back about a week before I wanted it done. I called a week before and they said they would get me on the schedule and call me. I never heard from them again, even though I called three more times and emailed. Twice I left messages, and once I reached someone but was disconnected mid-conversation. I called right back and the phone was busy. They didn’t call me back even though I had already given them my name. Then the estimate expired. I’m still mystified.

Excellent service by J.R. Petmecky and his crew! Several tree companies in the area were either unresponsive to request for quote, or had very long delays to be able to quote, let alone provide service. We really wanted to get service done before the winter for fear of the dead ash tree falling on the house with snow and ice accumulation. Petmecky provided the quote quickly and then worked with our schedule to perform the service when we were able to be present. On the scheduled day, the service was delayed due to a morning rain, but the crew showed up shortly after the rain passed and got to work. A crane was brought in to remove the dead tree that was difficult to access because of location on property behind the house, and a bucket truck was used to prune back another tree. The dead tree was cut apart in two large sections and actually lifted over the house and set in the front yard for further segmenting and removal. We felt that great measures were taken to make sure all lives and the house were safe during this nail biting procedure! They entire crew was efficient and courteous and took great care to make sure all debris from the removal and pruning was cleaned up. They even returned after dark with an additional truck to remove the last and largest pieces of the tree that could not be removed earlier in the day. The job was completed on the day we scheduled it, and the pricing was as quoted. While not inexpensive, we felt the pricing was appropriate considering the scope of work done and additional need for crane, because of our property limitations, to remove the dead tree.

excellent: technologically savvy, efficient, polite, tidy up was good. there was a complication with wires and they took care of it without me having to do anything extra.

Excellent job by Petmecky Tree Service. Initially, I took a few photo of the trees I needed trimmed and they were able to provide an estimate over email. Overall, I asked for trimming of 2 trees in the front, and 4 (fairly) large trees in my back yard. Their estimate at $1200 was very reasonable - I was, in fact, expecting quite a bit more. We quickly arranged a visit which did not require me to be home (which worked well). By the time I was back from work, all the trees I had requested to be trimmed were done. They also did a good job cleaning up the fallen branches. There were a few cut branches left in the trees which ended up falling later on but nothing unreasonable. The actual cost of the job was the same as the estimate (no additional charges). Will recommend Petmecky for tree trimming.

True to their word they were actually here in about 5 days. I had a lot of plants under the trees that were just starting to peek above ground. They did their best to do as little damage as possible to the area underneath the trees. Their clean-up was exceptional. And...they were all extremely pleasant to deal with (several family members working together). Although, I am a big supporter of Michael Poor and the work MP has done for me in the past....under the time constraints that I imposed...I could not be happier with the job Petmecky did for me.

Petmecky's young energetic crew came in and removed a 20 year old magnolia tree that was too close to the house and deck. Though they were working in a confined area with phone and power lines and the deck pergola to work around, they managed to take the tree down without damaging anything nearby. My backyard is fenced, so the tree limbs had to be dragged to the front yard where the chipper was parked. Even with all these considerations, they completed the work in just over an hour and left the yard clean of all but a little sawdust.

The provider gave me an estimate (May 2013) that was in the middle of the other estimates in regards to cost, I thought they seemed like a fine place based on the reviews, and they said that they could do the work in mid July 2013. So, I asked them to do the work, and they never did. Every time I called to check up with them, they said it would be another two weeks. By September, I gave up and called someone else. The reason we first went to this company was partly because they could get it done sooner than other companies, but they never came through and delayed us getting the large tree limb removed. After the first interaction, everything else was very unprofessional.

After receiving an estimate from one tree service, I contacted Petmecky Tree Service on 1/20/14 by email and recd a call from JR on 1/22/14 indicating he would be in the area and would like to stop to do an estimate. I wasn't home so JR said he could leave the estimate in the door. The estimate from Petmecky Tree Service was a little better than the previous estimate and given the quick response time I decided I would go with them. I hadn't had a chance to call JR back, but he placed a follow up call to me on 1/25/14 to make sure I got the estimate. When I told him I did and was needing to call him to get it scheduled, he said he could do it today. He was at my house within an hour and they were completely done within 2 1/2 hours. I was very impressed with the price, responsiveness and professionalism and very highly recommend Petmecky Tree Service. I will be having them come back out in the spring to trim up some trees.

Did a very professional and thorough job at both sites in spite of some very cold and snowy weather. Cleaned up everything at both houses and gave us a good run down on what they had done and why.

I had an emergency this weekend -- a tree in our back yard was splitting down the middle. It looked like I had a few hours before it crashed down on my deck and sunroom. I tied up the tree with cable and called up a few companies to ask for emergency tree removal. Petmecky was the only one that (a) called back the same day (b) was ready to come out the same day. He came out at night and started work around 10 at night. He got the tree removal started at night, and the whole team finished it up the next day. Crisis averted. Yard is clean. The owner is really friendly. Great quality of service.

What a wonderful experience! They arrived between 9-10 am. They immediately began taking care of business and cutting down the tree that had slowly become an eyesore. They estimated that they would be finished later in the afternoon. The cutting to ground level was complete by just after 1 pm. Petmecky cleaned up the property & hauled of the logs. The stump is barely visible.

They came and listened to what we needed. Consulted on one tree that needed to be trimmed, but after discussion, we all agreed that the tree just needed removal. We needed work done on neighboring property (that we had permission to do) and wasn't easy to get to. They brought in a crane to take down about half of a tree in back that was leaning over on our property, and trimmed the tree up to look decent. They then trimmed up 2 other trees on neighboring property so that they didn't impact our house/garage. They did the job in stages, so it took a few days, but they were professional about the job and we didn't have to pay anything before hand. Nice people to work with and would use them again.

They were excellent. They did excellent service, wonderful clean up after it was over and they were so easy to work with. I had him twice now and each time it was a good experience. He's a young guy and he did great, he is the owner. My neighbor uses him as well at the same time. He was cheaper than some of the well known places.
