Steve was very professional and detail oriented. He ended up working on our kitchen, bathrooms and also finished our basement. He has given us an initial quote that he stuck with. He was very easy to work with and produced top quality. Since then he has done work for many of our friends with consistent results. Wife approved

The quality of his work was excellent and he also had some great design ideas. He was very professional and easy to work with. He has done work for a couple of my friends and they were also very pleased with him.

He was pretty much available and did the work. He was open to suggestions. He said he did not know how to do something that he has not done but he was able to get through the answers.

It went really well. He was very professional, very responsive and very accommodating. Their price was reasonable.

The quote was high. It took a while to get the quote. I requested it some time back and they just never bothered to give me any real response. It partly got delayed and got picked up again.

Steve and his team are very hard worker. Our house was built in 1976 and the kitchen was original. We had complete Kitchen remodeling and new wood floor. Because Steve is general contractor and carpenter and electrician and plumber and painter, all work was done seamlessly (except we had to wait for granite counter top). He makes good suggestion for any small details we asked for. My wife and I are completely satisfy his professionality and his work. Thank you Steve!

We had a plumbing catastrophe in the ceiling and wall of our dining room for which we brought in plumbers to fix the problem. The aftermath was an exposed pipe in our dining room and a large hole in our ceiling. Zebra came in as the second lowest bid, but his professionalism and candor more than made up for the difference. Steve put my wife and I at ease from the very beginning and the end product was even better than we anticipated.

I had used this company recently to remodel my kitchen and things went so well it was a no-brainer to go back to them for the next project I wanted done. Due to ordering the doors, a vacation, and the Fourth of July holiday the start date was pushed back a little longer than I would have liked, but the work was done efficiently and everything looks great. Steve pays attention to the little details, which makes a big difference. He takes pride in his work and does things correctly and well.

We installed a new sprinkler system in our house and we needed somebody to build the soffits that would cover the sprinkler pipes.Steve was very punctual and you could tell from the very beginning that he is knowledgeable and somebody that will do a great job. We talked about what needs to be done, he had thoughtful questions, did some measurements and gave me a competitive quote. That weekend I met 5 other contractors and Steve was by far the best. He started the work immediately and finished everything in time by the end of the week. The quality of the work was great and I would definitely hire Zebra Remodeling again.

I contacted Steve through Angie's List and he was at my house that weekend to give an estimate. He suggested a gut remodel, which was out of my price range. I suggested he think outside the box and he did. He came up with a plan to give me a new kitchen at a price I could afford. Half the kitchen was to be gut remodeled and half was to be given a facelift. The contract was signed and the cabinets ordered a week later. The job was estimated to take two weeks once the cabinets came in. The cabinets arrived sooner than expected. When they were delivered the Menards delivery men could not fit the Lazy Susan in through the basement or kitchen door. They wanted us to remove the back door to our house (in December in Chicago), but refused to assist us. I called Steve and he was at my house within 30 minutes. He took the door off, got the cabinet in, and was on his merry way. The job started right after the new year. Steve and his assistant Lucas worked quickly and efficiently. They went above and beyond, taking little details into consideration. The old kitchen sink was reinstalled and sprung a leak, which was disappointing and left broken, but otherwise the job was completed well within the time frame and the kitchen looks great!

They were exceptional. They were very professional. The cabinet looks perfect, and it's beautiful. They did a good job, even though the walls weren't all that straight. I can't say enough good things about them. They were very approachable. They listened to what I needed. They were willing to take on extra things while we were there, so I appreciated that.

We wanted to remodel the main bathroom in our house. The shower surround was cracked and outdated along with the sink and the vanity. After receiving an estimate from Steve, we bought the needed items (tile, grout, tub, fixtures, faucets and vanity) and Steve provided the rest of the building materials. Steve also gave suggestions on what to purchase and where the best places to look for supplies. After we had everything, he started work. He quickly, and cleanly demolished the old bathroom including soffits above the vanity and tub. The rebuild went well. We asked that additional lights be added to the room along with an additional sink. We also asked that he re-tile the floor and the shower surround as well. He took care of everything involved and it looks great. He did and especially good job with the tile work. During the project, he provided suggestions and feedback as well. He is courteous and very professional and we have no concerns about his work.

He was very quick, nice, and professional. He gave a very professional looking quote, but the price was lot more than anybody else. He quoted around $9000, which was much more expensive than some of the other quotes I got, so I am not going to use him for that work. I may not use him in the future to get a quote also.

He came with suggestions about how to make things better. I don't have much experience in that area, so he suggested things I hadn't thought of before. They seemed knowledgeable in their work. I was comfortable with them doing everything. They did a great job with the clean-up. There was a lot of dust, but it was unavoidable. Everything else was spick-and-span.

Zebra Remodeling was one of the most competitive quote that I got. They are pretty firm on the price, probably because their offer is close to the best it can be. Steve came the second time to sign the contract. And the work was scheduled to begin 3 weeks later. And it actually started one week ahead upon my request. Steve and Tom worked 8-6 on most days from start to finish, except for a couple of times when they needed to take one day off to finish some previous project, which I perfectly understand as the nature of any remodeling work, and a longer period when I needed to have someone install the countertop before they can continue. Steve is very experienced, capable and can handle any situation that arises during the process. He is willing to listen to customer and is flexible enough to accomodate requests. The height of the new refrigerator was a little tight for the existing opening. They managed to raise the overhead soffit a bit as additional work for a reasonable price. Overall it went very well. And the result is what we expected. I would hire them again for my future project.

The quote process was pretty standard, Steve was on time, and provided his quote when he said he would. The price was very competitive. Steve and his co-worker did an excellent and timely job, working with my schedule.There was much more electrical in the wall than anticipated, but Steve rerouted it all properly and didn't even hint at any additional cost. He took extra care to reinforce the area where i was going to mount a monitor and installed the mount for me. My major concern was the quality of the drywall work as this is a major focal point in the room, and Steve did a great job. Crisp clean corners and excellent drywall work. It was a dusty job, but he did the best he could to control it. I was comfortable leaving him alone in the house to perform the work, and when i was around, he was very tolerant of my constant questions. If I HAD to make one complaint (and it is minor) it is that he showed up a little late. I will certainly be soliciting quotes from Steve for any future work i want to do. He is great.

They did a great job and looks great. They kept to the timeline that I provided and stayed on schedule even with other parties involved. They will be back to install doors and trim when I have those available.

Steve and Tom did the work and were very punctual , professional and did a excellent job in our bathroom and walk in closet . Finishing was very nice and we love our new bathroom.

Steve and Tom did a excellent job in both the rooms and did a excellent finish. He accepted changes in the middle and worked diligently to satisfy our changing needs and gave excellent suggestions as well. We love our new office room and laundry room.

The project went very smoothly from start to finish. Steve did the project himself and did not use any subs or helpers. Steve is a very talented handyman and is able to do about all phases of a kitchen remodeling project. I found Steve to be honest and of good character. I was comfortable leaving him in my house alone while I went out. I also liked the fact that he was reasonable in his charges for extras. The quality of all of his work was excellent. He was very professional and cleaned up the area at the end of each day. I have already recommended him to a friend.

They were responsive and punctual. I will consider getting future estimate from them.

Excellent job. Family room and bathroom completely transformed. Couldn't be more pleased, and at a cost nearly 20,000 less than quoted by several well known home improvement companies in the Chicago area.

The tile work went very well. He installed cement backer board for the shower surround and floor. In the powder room, ceramic tile was adhered to concrete flooring. With recommendations from Steve, the wall design changed, with a subsequent trip or two to the the tile shop for more supplies. We had a slight cracking issue come up in the grout on the upstairs bathroom floor, which was due to walking on floor prior to it setting up properly. When Steve applied additional grout to repair crack, the problem has not resurfaced.

Overall, the project went very well. Estimated timeline for project was 4-6 weeks. Project took a full 6 weeks to complete and Steve kept us apprised of timing. Once the cabinets were installed, we had to wait 4-5 days for laminate countertops to be made to size specifications. There was significant electrical work in the kitchen as 9 can lights were installed and outlets moved, etc. A good portion of the drywall on the ceiling had to be redone (due to prior soffits being removed). What drywall remained was remudded to remove texturization which took several days. This was a lot more work than just installing new cabinetry. The project was almost a gut and redo. Steve asked us a lot of questions to make sure the work was being done to our specifications.
