The tree service initially did not respond well and did not return my calls until a few days and a couple of calls later. However, once they came out and quoted the job, they were reliable timely, professional and did a great job. They had professional heavy equipment and in about three hours, they had removed a large black walnut tree and completely ground away the stump and two other large stumps as well. Their cleanup was extremely good in that they removed all branches and raked the yard completely. The two man crew was very hardworking and got right down to business. The tree was located in my backyard between the house and my garage and posed a threat to both if taken down wrong. They were very good and I was never concerned during the entire removal. The prices they quoted me were exactly the same as two other quotes I received. The only downside is that the extremely large equipment for grinding up all the branches did damage my asphalt driveway when they put the feet down to stabilize it. My asphalt was already old and poor and it probably didn't take much, but I wish they had warned me so we could talk about alternatives first. Overall, it was a difficult job, I rate them very high, and I would absolutely hire them again!

My Experience: I had a very large black walnut tree in my backyard that I wanted removed. I contacted Mr. Trost and he went to my home that same day while I was still at work and looked over the tree for removal. He called me with a bid and even suggested that he would remove two stumps from trees previously removed for a very small additional charge because the equipment for stump removal would already be on site. I bid the same job to another tree service and the bids were comparable, considering the other tree service had to come from 20 miles away. We agreed that he would call me with a date because he had other work. After a few days, I called again and kept leaving messages. He returned my call a few days later and it turns out he was extremely busy. He stated that he missed the calls while working and there were some very windy days which were unsuitable for the work. He was hesitant to call me late in the evening or on the weekend, and that was the reason for the lack of communication. I was beginning to have misgivings, but he gave me a day, showed up on time, and went right to work. They came with all the necessary equipment to make short work of it and did a fantastic job of fill and cleanup They were conscientious, courteous, and professional and their price was comparable to other companies I contacted. The cleanup was excellent and they wasted no time in getting the job done.I was extremely happy with the result. Concerns to look out for: My driveway is relatively old asphalt and the feet on the large chipper did breakup a small area of my drive. There were also some relatively deep tracks in my yard from the stump grinder, although they did make a good effort to fill them. I will have to have someone roll my yard, but I don't see how any of this could have been avoided, no matter who did the work. Overall, very satisfied and they were really pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend them.
