Overall, I would rate my experience as 5-stars! While some of my e-mail files could not be recovered, I didn't loose anything valuable.

MIZ is an owner-operated small business that is new to Pleasant Plains, IL. My cousin and I "dropped in" to investigate the shop one day early this past Spring. Jeremy refurbishes, programs and repairs computers and laptops, etc. When asked what he would charge for "cleaning up" my laptop, he quoted me a base price of $40. He asked if I had the programming disks that came with my laptop, which I did/do have, in the event that my laptop was carrying a virus or worm of some other pfishing component that would "wipe out" the hard drive. My laptop was purchased and sent to me by a friend. There is no direct "service provider" here, (save for Best Buys which has a undistinquished reputation here), I chose to leave it with MIZ. As noted above, the "charge" for resetting programs and checking for security issues was $25. MIZ does NOT accept credit nor debit cards. (There's an ATM across the road at Casey's General Store). Speaking from my previous experience of "dealing with" commercial firms and "overseas" representatives who failed to diagnose my laptop's "problems" or sought to sell me so stupid extended "service" contract, Jeremy at MIZ is a 5/5 star service provider!
