The Maids of the Southwestern Suburbs

Overall, cleaning services provided were good although on the higher end of price. I used them for approximately 1-1/2 years. However, if problems were raised about the quality of their service (to be fair, their cleaning was thorough so my concerns were generally only small ones), their answer was always "it looked fine when we were finished" implying that the problem was on my end and not theirs. Also, being a franchise, they are restricted by corporate rules - this was particularly a problem in my house because I have tall ceilings and they would only clean mirrors 3/4 of the way up because the crew was not allowed to use even small step ladders. There were other things but not significant enough to mention. The reason I am giving them a failing grade is they cancelled without notice a scheduled weekly cleaning days before a big holiday party (1st they cancelled day before scheduled cleaning day, said they would reschedule before the party, then cancelled for the entire week), leaving me with no other options than to clean my house myself. Then the following week I was having another big party for my husband's employees, and again without notice, they cancelled my service permanently blaming it on "staffing issues". The reason I used a service over an individual was to have cleaning persons always available. In case anyone reading this review thinks the problem is with me and not the service, in my other home, I have had the same loyal cleaning person for 17 years. I am sorry that they ended the relationship so unprofessionally that I felt compelled to write this unfavorable review but they left me in a very difficult and stressful situation during 2 of the most important weeks that I needed house cleaning.

Everything always goes very smoothly. When they arrive, they all put on some type of cloth shoes to walk on my Brazilian cherrywood floors which shows every bit of dust, so I greatly appreciate that! There's a crew of 4 people, one being the lead, and they all go to work with their specified job, each in different directions it seems. One has a vacuum on her back so nothing is drug across your hardwood floors. It all goes so fast - my house is 3500 sf, and they're done in about an hour - maybe an hour and a half because there are four of them for a regular cleaning. The floors are clean and shiny again, the house smells wonderful, glass doors on showers are crystal clear, every detail I can think of they've covered - things I never would have thought of - they've thought of! When they leave, they go out the front door and clean the floor behind them as they're going out so there are absolutely no footprints! When I'm home, before they leave, the lead will walk me through every room and make sure that I'm happy with everything, and if there was anything I was unhappy with, they would take care of it. Before we moved in, there was a strange stain that I had been very concerned about that I wouldn't be able to remove. It was something red in the crevices of a lightswitch and electrical socket. The lead told me she had used a toothbrush and something else to remove it - my husband and I were ecstatic that she was able to clean it! Also, they are pet friendly! My dog is only 6 pounds, but he is quite protective of his home and acts as ferocious as a 6-pound dog can! They do not act intimidated by him and have said they are okay being around him which makes me feel better because I do not have to crate him when they come.
