+ -1 moreI contacted several inspectors and this is the one with the best response time and quickest appointment availability. Their price was also very competitive. We had an evening appointment due to work, but Eric the inspector arrived about 30 minutes earlier to examine the exterior before it was dark. Very thoughtful. And he was extremely thorough in identifying potential problems and explained areas that may need repairs. He sent out the report the same night before midnight, which helped us get back to the seller in a very timely manner. The seller eventually agreed to repair many items as listed, and save us a lot of trouble. We are very glad that we found the Home inspection Man on Angieslist, and will for sure use them in the future when needed.

+ -1 moreWe found "The Home Inspection Man" through Angie's list and we got excellent service. As other Angie's list members have described, Eric was already at the house to do the outside inspection before the scheduled time. When we got there he was ready to show us everything on the outside. Then we moved inside and we went from floor to floor (he first did the inspection himself and then got us to go through the items). Since this is the first home we are buying, Eric was very, very patient with our questions and made sure we understand the difference between regular maintenance items vs. items that are of concern. He educated us on many levels and we feel much more prepared to be "first time home owners". We also had requested a Radon test and the drop-off and pick-up was very smooth. Thank you Eric and "The Home Inspection Man"-team!

Description of Work: The Home Inspection Man was great! He was prompt, and thorough, and was happy to answer any questions we had regarding upkeep of appliances and items within the home. We were concerned about pet hair build up in the ventilation system due to severe allergies, and he was nice enough to take a look for us and give his opinion. He was super personable, and even gave us binder with address labels for my husband and I with a picture of the new house on it. I would definitely recommend him, and use him again.

+ -1 moreEric Olsauskas from "The Home Inspection Man" completed a home inspection just 2 days after being contacted through Angie's List. The inspection was very thorough and Eric took the time to address any/all of our questions, and walk us through the full report item by item. Eric identified several areas of concern that while not major, would soon turn into large / expensive fixes if not addressed in a timely manner. Most valuable to me, Eric was patient and helped trouble shoot some of the features/designs of that house that appear to have been altered in a re-model - While that was not really his role and not technically part of the inspection process beyond checking building code, etc , he was happy to spend some extra time trying to unravel the mystery that can often come with a partial remodel (Basement) and the "work arounds" that might be hidden in the walls that could present problems in the future. Will for sure use Eric if we ever move again.

His inspection was thorough, uncovering several 'hidden' issues including mold and wood destroying insect damage that would have otherwise been costly and dangerous surprises. Eric was efficient, professional and took the time to answer our many questions concerning his findings. I believe we received a quality inspection and would recommend The Home Inspection Man.

First off, I was able to schedule the appointment online giving all of the information needed which was a nice feature. I then received a phone call a few minutes later to confirm the appointment and then verify the information. I wish that more of the info online would have been available for the scheduler. The price was more than fair and I received a $20 off coupon by finding them on Angie's List. All I had to do was tell the scheduler and it was done. The day of the inspection, he beat me to the property and had already inspected the exterior before I arrived at the appointment which was nice. Joe was very easy to talk to and understand as he answered my questions and explained things to me in layman's terms. He was very thorough and did a great job. He provided me with a pre-made binder with all of the home information and a copy of the handwritten inspection. Color pictures, and even some address labels! What a nice touch. The .pdf report was emailed to me the very same day and was very detailed. Amazing service. It came with tons of new homeowner information and links to helpful websites. Awesome experience, thank you.

Description of Work: Found a home to possibly purchase-built in 1959. Hired The Home Inspection Man company to inspect the home for us. The inspectors found a drippy laundry sink pipe, the chimney needed a cap installed, a couple of windows needed locks installed/replaced, cracked grout between the bathroom ceramic tiles, nothing big or too expensive to repair. So we bought the property. The day after we moved in, I wanted to take a shower in the upstairs bathroom. The hot water faucet handle spun with no resistance and was unusable-so the only water available for baths or showers in that bathroom was cold water. Also on the day after we moved in, I put a load of laundry into the washer that came with the house-the washer that had supposedly been inspected. The secondary sump pump "booster pump" for laundry wastewater clicked on and would not stop running. I disconnected the entire booster pump when I felt the motor was getting too hot. "Welcome to our new house"-no showers and you can't do laundry! I called Gary Monfeli, one of the professionals who inspected our house, and explained the two problems which I thought should have definitely been discovered during the home inspection. His only response was that he did not notice the two issues I was mentioning, so the problems must have not existed just a few days before. In less than one week, the hot water faucet in the shower AND the sump pump must have spontaneously broken-and he claimed no responsibility for negligence when performing his inspection.
